@0729mooncave Future storm storm run through run through the sky of despair in the world for whom perished Yuk (This is how gogle translated your post/pretty cool)
NPR in the US asked listeners to mention their favorite Winter song, and I chose this. I have a memory of listening to this song while I was driving and suddenly my car was surrounded by huge snowflakes that were swirling around, all around me, so that I had to stop. The night was dark and endless, and there was a moment when I felt transported into another realm, like the snowflakes were going to pick me up from the ground and bring me to heaven. Such a powerful song, so beautiful.
The song itself sounds like a story itself. It's like the protagonist is on the precipice of their own damnation or salvation and a single choice will determine their fate. The song seems like the agony of all their sins remembered and joys reminisced.
The choice, however, remains to be seen by the individual reading the story.
@0JustSomeStupidName0 I happen to be atheist, in case you didn't notice. And divinity is a far better word for what I foolishly call "religiousness" but I wanted people to understand what I said. :-)
@DemoniaX666 There isn't any, Lisa Gerrard often doesn't USE any actual lyrics, she's using her voice as an instrument to compliment the rest of the music, sort of like humming...just way more difficult to pull off...
I remember listening to the whole DCD's "Wthin the realm of a dying sun" exactly on a Good Friday day when I was a teenager. I was tired of watching TV that day because most channels were broadcasting biblical movies so I decided to listen to the whole album. The influence on sacred sounds and scenery from those era films made the sound of this album feel very ethereal and transported me to another world. It was a great experience.
@curedude77 I did the same on a Christmas morning several years ago. Being myself an atheist, I'd still call that a religious experience. It was greater than the holiday, greater than myself...
@Stahlwerk88 It's great to be an atheist and yet be able to feel the religiousness that things in life contain, such as love, music, family and friends...
I'm suprised that no video games have used this as a final boss battle theme yet. This song fills you with a sense of dread and at the same time urgency. Two of the best qualities in any final battle.
We plated this loud in the showers at the campgound, my friend and I, when we were youths. It sent a message to the other campers. we were not to be trifled with... ;^)

listen to all of this album, and if it doesn't make you cry, you are dead.
