Nice video. My 2007 MKV GTI is all Neuspeed, with Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires. It hit 168mph then I got scared. I'll be posting that run, and a 155mph run in about a month.

i firmly believe my 06 gli will go past 140mph i think people in the forums are full of such shit when they say the speedo is off i got 145 actual speed on my vagcom and have the slip to prove it. maybe it will even push 150. the tires are rated up to 168 if u have to contisportpros.

btw, i have a MKI rocco, MKII GTI 16v(track setup) and rocco 16v, VRT Rado, and MKIII Jetta GLX...all manual 020 or 02A all the way so i'm not just some whimpy kid who pretends to drive stick :-P

if you wanna be as fast as possible, DSG, its much more apparent on a road track, no worrying about matching the revs exactly when you heel toe, better exit speed and perfect shifts down the straight...but that's just me. there are ways around DSG and modding issues...ask any chip manufacturer

Yes those are the stock 17's I have the same ones on my car I woulda rather got the Huff's but mine are nice. stick is cool but the DSG DIRECT SHIFT GEARBOX is insanly fast. 1/10 of a second faster on the track but cant take high hp/tq numbers like with the big turbo ko4 upgrade....

the choice is yours...nice video tho...except for on the street testing.

I've got DSG and I may be whimpy but WOW do I love it. I've had a MK1 152BHP a standard MK2 16V about 20 years ago but my MK5 brings back the good old days. Hey, I can gear shift using paddles on my steering wheel which makes up for the lack of stick and my old knees can take it easy. It's fast enough for me or any road on earth. Take care with chipped cars as they usually get smashed because of over eagerness to test it out. Wisdom from an old dog.

if ur looking to mod the GTI...which i would think most poeple are...gti is not a car u leave stock...the DSG is FANTASTIC if u dont mod it...once u start moding...usually about 95% of people start having rediculous problems with the car...thats why a lot of people turn away from DSG...but if ur not lookin to mod...get dsg...way faster than sick stock gti
