For me Prisoner Cell Block H was at its best from episodes 287 to 418 That was my favourite era the Freak was more sadistic, The arrival was great and her gloves were iconic, also the enemies of bea and the freak was great which led up to the great fire of wentworth, then we had Nola who was the shows scariest violent and evil inmate of all time in my opinion. Then we had Joan and Nola teaming up to get rid of Bea who killed Nola. I loved Bea's departure. Then there was david bridges wow EPIC
Thanks for the music names. At the first, did she say Pixie was attacked? or Trixie? I don't remember anyone named Trixie on here. But I loved the Pixie character.
@Byzantine76 You are correct, but oddly enough she was still likable. It was nice to see Lil get bashed after all the bashing she and Bev did over the years.
Not that she would have done, Val Lehman would not let Bea go that far. After Bea found out and killed Nola, i think that led to Val's decision to quit the show. The writers boxed her in, if they thought they could keep Bea in longer, it had the opposite effect. What else could Val do with her character after the fire, escape, killing Nola? Bea would never be released, although with Prisoner you never know, lol. Thank you for the upload CanberraUser.
And the storyline about Bea nearly being driven mad by the Freak,Nola and Zara was harrowing to watch. Only Val could handle a far-fetched storyline like that and turn it into a credible one, with an acting performance that was brilliant! And anyone who enjoys, fiction or not, the very idea that someone is and should nearly be driven to, or actually commit suicide needs psychiatric help big time! And i would say the same if Bea had pulled had pulled a stunt like that.
@DaveyC95 Pull the other one. You crawl up Val Lehman's arse way too much. There's lots of competent actresses on the show that could have handled a storyline of mental decline like that. The actress who played Kate Peterson impressed me more when she went crazy than Val Lehman did in her entire 400 episode run.
Her most laughable acting was when she went crazy when she was trapped in the tunnel escape. Wooden as a forest.
Bea got Nola by herself, but she was hardly going to make it obvious to Nola that she was about to brand her, anyway Powell was floating about as usual. Same as when Bea attacked Nola, when she was about to razor Maxine's face in Bea's shared dorm. The writers had Bea escape because Val Lehman thought the Alan/Ellen Farmer, man disguised as a woman, getting into a female jail without a cavity search ridiculous, and it was! That just would not happen. Bea was more than a match for Nola and Ferguson.
@DaveyC95 It doesn't matter the reasons behind it. It was written that Bea lost to Nola and had to escape because she couldn't take it anymore.
Bea had to sneak attack Nola because she knew she could never get her down if Nola saw her coming. Nola was always goading Bea to live up to her promise to fix her. Even after she branded her that didn't stop her. In the end the only way Bea could win was to kill Nola. She was too much competition for Bea to handle.
Sure Bea took on Nola by herself when she scarred her . The Freak and Nola had to use underhand tactics to try and destroy Bea ie gang bashing and using a wannbe astologist to impersonate Beas daughter to try and drive her to suicide. They cud never have the balls to take on Bea 1 2 1
Bea hid behind the door and had to sneak attack Nola in order to brand her.
And of course they used underhanded tactics to drive Bea to suicide. Joan would never get away with murdering an inmate. Plus it's so much more satisfying to watch Bea suffer, and then top herself. Even more hysterical was that Bea fell for Zara's bull shit lol.
Though Bea had the last laugh when she wised up and shot Nola with that odd looking hand made gun..it wud have been good to see Bea and the freak at it longer as she was the only in mate who was areal threat to Joan thats why she had herr transfered . BEa shud av finished her off but she chose the defeated option as opposed to triumph with the freaks blood on her hands!
@crevrath Death was the only way Nola could have been written out of the show. Nola was the only inmate baddie ever to match Bea Smith, and not be overrawed by her. Bea couldn't take the competition. It's why she escaped and fled to Sydney. She lost the support of the women to Nola.
Sorry, but Bea was no threat to Joan. Joan just hated her because she challenged her authority, just like Myra and Rita did, and she tried to have both of them transferred, too. And Reb Kean. Bea's not the only one
@crevrath By the way, Bea never wised up to the Debbie scam with Zara. Zara got cold feet, and told Lizzie what was really going on, who in turn told Bea. Bea never figured it out for herself. Lizzie saved her.
@markxxx21 They did and although Judy prob wudnt have the same muscle as Bea she gave as good as she got. It was the likes of the Freak and Nola who cud never handle Bea one on one hence they forged a double alliance to try and get rid of her
@crevrath Ferguson bashed Bea unconscious in the fire. Nola never copped a bashing from Bea. Nola always stood up to Bea. Nola got so powerful that Bea couldn't take it any more and escaped.
@MelishMud Ferguson came from behind Bea and hit her unconcious at the great wentworth fire, Nola did stand up to Bea but never by her self, she did a drug racket, licked fergusons arse and had to get many of her heavies to have Bea done in not forgetting her and the freak getting Zara Moombean to convince Bea she was loosin her marbles but she branded nola on her chest and killed her in the end a good triumph id say
@crevrath Yeah and Bea attacked Fetgo from behind and she had to arm herself with a stick as well. Bea only managed to brand Nola cos she his behind a door and attacked ehr on the sly. That was Bea's style. Sneaky attacks.
Bea had to kill Nola cos she couldn't take the competition. Bashing and branding Nola didn't stop her from getting on top. Nola was too unstoppable for Bea. That's why she killed her.
@MelishMud Bea let Joan know she was behind her as she entered the room at the great Wentworth fire and gave her the chance to turn around , she didnt sneak up behind her! when Bea left Joan for dead, she recovered and snuck up on Bea with her stick and whacked her. Bea also beat up Joan in Ep 400 just b4 her departure from wentworth. Nola only stayed on top running the drug racket with Fergo , she had to gang bash Bea and Bea wud have had to brand nola on the sly she cud hardly tell her b4hand
@crevrath She gave her the chance to turn around so she could clobber her with a stick. How brave. Joan had just been nearly strangled to death with that stick by the ginger blob and still managed to bash her down. Joan >Bea.
As for ep 400, wake up Austrailia, Joan WANTED Bea to attack her so she would have brusies to show for it so she could have Bea transferred. She even scratched her own face for good measure. Bea would never have been able to do that otherwise.
@MelishMud Bea could have finished off Joan Physically many a time how ever she didnt want blood on her hands again after killing her hubby and Nola , she knew with the Authority Joan had shed never win only through a death match between them. U call Bea Sneaky , Bea was in most cases straight down the line with the prisoners it was the freak who was sneakiest of all. Ill agree to disagree here , i do like the freak, she held the show in later yrs, i just think the early years were the strongest
@crevrath Bea DID try to finish Joan off. Or was she strangling Joan with a chair leg until she passed out for a laugh? When Bea bashed, she used her fists. She didn't try and choke the life out of people. Bea didn't care about blood on her hands. Name me one episode where she showed any remorse for any the three people she killed.
Joan was sneaky in the sense she was clever not to get caught. Bea had no reason to be.
@crevrath Nola stayed top dog because her power and influence was too great. She wasn't running any rackets with Fergo. They were Nola's rackets. Joan just forced to her to give her a cut from the profits.
Its such a pity chrissie and bea were split up when they we're, at least with chrissie onside. Bea would be able to sort nola out. after all, nola keeps using muscle to fight Bea.
No sorry Bea don't actually need anybody to help her bash some one. I mean because Nola and the Freak are teaming up, just would have been nice to have the good Bea and Chrissie duo to counter that
