We just attended JUMP and had a massive schooling in Shiggy Bops by Mr. Mike Minery; I swear guys are just better at this step and I hate saying that! I remember seeing your tutorial and had to watch it again; I am determined to get this....but maybe there's no hope. Why is this step so hard? Thanx again for all ur awesome vids! My students and I LOVE YOU!
@TRawckk You can definitely get it. Try this: start with both feet on the ground on the balls of your feet. Have your right foot scuff forward while your left IS STILL ON THE GROUND. Then after the scuff is executed (and before the next dig) lift your left foot into the air. While your left foot is in the air complete the dig and then drop the left foot back down to the floor. Once you get good at that, start lifting your left foot sooner and then eventually have it up before the scuff.
@musictaps Rod - thank u so much; this makes much sense and I will try this and then share with my students. Some of them are already getting it but others, along with myself, really struggle. I am now getting older, too, and I worry about breaking my ankle! HAHAH Yea, I agree, anytime u post online for all the world to see you are opening yourself up for both good and bad and very negative commentary; to each their own and I see he apologized; something I've not seen before so that's great!
I've noticed the hardest principle for my students is to plie and relax the front landing leg. If that knee is locked, it throws of balance for the harder progressions of shiggy bops, like adding that front toe drop.
I think this is the first video I've come across that explains the step properly. I taught it to my students and explained it in much the same way you do here, awesome! Keep these videos coming :-)

@erraib Hmm, I'll have to tyr that out. In all honesty I think I lock my leg. I'll try keeping it more relaxed and see what happens.
