Lindros was great. Whether or not the refs went in to 'save' him is irrelevant. Lindros was one of the most skilled players ever (barring injury) and had the guts to go toe-to-toe with a good for nothing (one thing) fighter. There were fighters in the league who wouldn't drop the mitts with McSorely, but Lindros did. Could have been one of the best ever, if his brains didn't get turned into mashed potatoes.
McSorley was about to finish him and all of a sudden the refs jump in. It's the old Mark Messier code of giving the star player preferrential treatment.
I never thought lindros was as good as he was to be. I feel he fell short with head injuries. Lindros the best ever...a little wimpy guy named steve yzerman was better then lindros.
How can you cheer for McSorley? He put in 10pts season at most, Lindros *carried* his team with 120pt seasons.... *and* he coud grit... *and* he could duke it out with pure goons (like McSorley). Eric = highest respect
Mcsorley is a douche bag sack of shit, yeah he won this fight but he's still a piece of shit, i'm surprised he didn't use his stick here on Lindros's head.

Can you imagine todays superstars fighting like that? Not really. Ovechkin is a little girl when it comes to fighting and waits for someone to come save him. Typical for a Russian though. Semin will slap when he gets in a fight
@bbmtge Ovechkin does make a lot of contact but 99 percent of it is against much smaller players. And when the opposing player wants to duke it out Opussykin turtles and gets someone else to fight his battle. The guy is a puss and also he never shows up for the big games. I say he ends up in the khl soon
Yeah, Mcsorley caught Lindros at the end if a shift, this is the only fight I remember him losing. You gotta love it though, not too many superstars willing to drop the gloves with the biggest goons in the league.
well in retro spec..lindros was no superstar,,,was suppose to be..but the guy never broke 50 goals,,and only passed the 100 point mark 1 time...mabey he should have fought more..lol. good/very good player,,but never lived anywhere near the hype.
@BillyBetYT .......yes, I was at the game sitting in the front row next to the fight. The Flyers had a four minute power play, I believe. Lindros had been double shifted. McSorely came on ice at the last minute and he knew exactly what he was doing in picking the fight. Lindros was SO out of breath and could barely stand even BEFORE the fight. He still held his own! I will say, Marty's biceps were gigantic........you'd never know it but that dude is super jacked.
LOL, you see how when McSorley got the upper hand the refs where extremely quick to come in and save Lindros. You can see that McSorley was frustrated by how the refs coddled Lindros at the end of the clip when he is going to the penalty box and waves his hand as if to say: "what a joke".
@CanadianSnowLeopard Forgot about a couple of things in your comment.McSorley had a chance to show what he'd gotten, but that was it.Lindros was at the end of his shift, tired, playing way more than McSorley.McSorley specialized in fighting, was paid for it,Lindros was paid for something else, yet he was so amazing that he managed to fight for himself and his teammates since Clarke didn't bother to provide him with protection. So an apples and oranges comparison.McSorley perhaps expected K.O.
Lidros was skilled. He did go up against Mcsorley. And he got his ass beat. That's life. And, also, for the m
ost part Lindros was a douchebag. Knucklehead dummy with great talent. We are only spectators...

Yes, Eric was overall the best ever. It's just sad how Philly screwed up his career.

You really cannot blame the refs for getting in, Lindros looked out of gas. They do that a lot more.

Too close to call
McSorley landed more punches, but weak punches
Lindros only threw a couple hits, but they were more effective
So overall a draw dead fight
