  • That must be a bitch.

  • They charge $400-500 for top end sticks in Australia.

An EQ10 or 2K stick here goes for $100.

EQ5 Skates are $700 where as EQ50's don't even cost that must plus shipping.

We get shafted for hockey gear in Australia.

  • @beckonband thats because your on the opposite side of the globe from all the majourhockey centers

  • @beckonband here in canada... right now an EQ30 is like 80 - 100 bucks...

  • @beckonband not really i payed 240 for stealth rs

  • I miss these oliers.

  • 240p we meet again

  • 120 sticks a year? i have been through only 3 sticks in four years...lol

  • @zonkedforlife2 yeah, you should break more from now on, apparently you're not trying hard enough :P

  • why is he flying the blade

  • 200-300 is retail, which includes warranty and markups of shops trying to make profit..the sticks dont cost the companies that much to make and even pay some players to wear their gear.

  • Look at how square it is

  • Sticks arent free? The team pays for them.

  • Does it weaken the blade if you heat it up and make your own curve ?

  • @TINKERHOCKEY yes

  • i mean y does he need to make his own curve..it could be from prefrence but i mean ur a pro just ask for the curve already made and itll save u like 5-10 mins

  • @RickNashPwns

400-500??? that sucks i dont think i can afford that. on planet earth they typically go for 299.99 at the most.

  • @RedEldorado NHL players don't use 100 200 dollar sticks!! I use a 220 dollar stick that's a jr! Most of NHL players use sr sticks which a top of the line is like 400 to 500. And they still get them for free!!!

  • @RickNashPwns Please show me a stickg for 400-500$ Most expensive sticks today are Easton RS and it cost 250...

  • @RickNashPwns are you retarded? the most expensive sticks right now in senior are the easton RS and maybe the APX. They are $300 tops idiot.

  • @RickNashPwns Your a fool. Why would you spend 220 on a junior when all a junior is is a 40 stick painted like your precious S19 or 11K. Man up and use a sr.

Oh and $400 for a stick is unreal, no stick EVER costed that much.

  • handles a hacksaw like a fairy

  • what tool is he useing between 48-51

  • @jizzyjful butane torch

  • i am a goalie, but also am a player but mostly goalie and have the on95 bauer nike stick

  • 120 sticks a year! OK, at $100-200 per stick, that's like $12,000 to $24,000 worth of sticks a year!

  • @RedEldorado All pro players get there sticks free from which ever company.

  • was that english?

  • flattest toe on a hockey stick ive ever seen lol

  • uhhhh maybe you break it because it says no open flame, ugh sykora sucks...sucked

  • @matthewbattenfelder9 302 goals in the NHL beg to differ.

  • does anyone know what that tool is called he uses to bend his stick

  • He does it so he can have a custom grip on his stick. If you look closly it is shaved of a little bit. That is exactly what i do with my sticks except i make it narrow in the middle

  • Usually the extension is to dampen the vibrations. Wood doesn't vibrate as much.

  • must be nice to get 120 sticks a season.....my broke ass has 3

  • Less time practicing

  • he plugs it to balance the weight of the head and the top of the shaft

  • hes not weird

  • which is it? more flex less feel, or less flex and more feel??

  • The wood in the end, is common i heard in the pros, it stops the whole stick from vibrating when the puck hits it, and gets rid of some of the "tin feel" of the one-piece stick. Im not sure if this is 100% true.

  • i love Sykie

  • ok thanks

  • Maybe if he wouldn't fuck up the stick he wouldn't break them as much.

Plus I can't believe that with all the shapes, sizes, materials and configurations out there that he can't find a prefab stick or a mix-n-match that meets his needs without having to trick them out.

  • I've had the privilege to eat lunch with Petr a couple of times. Nice guy.

  • 120 sticks a year, thats nuts. but to be expected considering he recurves the blade. warming composites up after they've already been curved must weaken them.

  • we miss you sykora-love a pens fan :) :(

  • This guy will probably be a Boston Bruin next year. The Bruins will see plenty of roster changes next year especially on the RW. The Bruins obviously need more scoring and Sykora might be a cheap pickup next year considering he was injured this year.

  • to make the curve bigger so it is still legal pro's would do tht with wood one petr klima did it

  • why did he file down the bottom of his blade??

  • im guessing to get a more squared shape on the blade

  • @northeasthockey23 its his preference

  • @northeasthockey23 I think it has a effect for his tape job but not sure

  • @northeasthockey23 He wants to shave off his weight on the blade so its more well balanced

  • @northeasthockey23 alot of people do that for smoothness on the ice...brand new sticks come with plastic on the button of the blade that has some chips and nicks in it.. and doesn't make it slide fast on the ice. ( i seen him in alot of games with no tape on the blade and the stick was sliding on the ice fast as hell

  • @northeasthockey23 its to change the lie of the stick

  • @northeasthockey23 they give a better feel for the puck i think

  • @northeasthockey23 so when he slashes someone it cuts them

  • @northeasthockey23

gives the stick better feel. the only problem is it will break easier. good thing he has like 100 of them

  • @northeasthockey23 if i had to guess maybe change the lie a bit or blend the shaft to blade a little better i dont know

  • @northeasthockey23 to make it more flat, so you have to whole blade on the ice, I do it too

  • @northeasthockey23 bcuz u know how some sticks one the blade its all glossy...yeh he took tht glossy stuff off :D

  • @northeasthockey23 Less resistance

  • @northeasthockey23 Yeah, it makes the bottom smooth and it runs faster on the ice, less resistance

  • Some players do it so that they can get a rounded end of their stick, it helps them when stick handling rather than with a square end

  • why cut the shaft to put a plug in it. seems pointless to me but i guess thats how he likes it to feel.

  • what is the tool he uses to curve his toe after heating it 0:49

  • a torch

  • 0:39

  • 0:41

  • sick 1:33

  • what did he use to cuve his stick

  • torch

  • cutting the stick screws up all the flex zone thingies

  • The kick point in a stick will stay the same unless you take around 2 feet off the stick.

  • He cuts it then puts in the plug so he can shave the plug down for more grip

  • why does he cut it the put a extenchen

  • So the stick is stiffer.

  • @yoovechkin if u put grip on the end it doesnt ruin ur stick

  • @yoovechkin he throws on the extension that is like retarded sheped cuz its smaller in your hands

  • @yoovechkin

He want this stick but less of flexx.

  • Comment removed

  • @jullikka777 haha no! when you cut your stick, you lost a lot of flex!!!!

  • @jullikka777 No, shortening it makes it stiffer. Think of a broomstick — if you were to break it in half, you wouldn't be able to bend the short piece you were left with, right? Most sticks now have the flex rating written on it at different points, so you can see if you cut it such and such a length, it will be such and such flex.

  • @yoovechkin because he wants a perfect flex

  • @yoovechkin i think he likes the feel of the extension more...thats the way it felt for me on my johnson

  • @yoovechkin Take a closer look, the extension is narrower at he end.

  • @yoovechkin Probably just to be able to file down the wood and make a better or more personalized grip to the stick

  • @yoovechkin Cause he wants his sticks to be a little stiffer

  • @yoovechkin to make it stiffer

  • @yoovechkin i think it puts more flex on the stick .

  • @yoovechkin thats where he puts a custom grip on it i believe

  • @yoovechkin because its wood, so you can shape it to fit your hand better by rounding it with a sander. gives you more control with the puck.

  • @eforerTV his stick isnt wood dumbass

  • @TheFuZeDx the extension is wood you fucking retard

  • @yoovechkin So he gets a different flex. The certain length is a certain flex, you cut it down it loosens the flex, and the extension doesn't change the flex at all.

  • @yoovechkin to lower the kick point

  • @100zz200 What is the "kick point"???

  • @pgbruiser where the stick flexes, the lower it is, the quicker you can get shots off.

  • @pgbruiser Where the main flexing point of a stick is.

  • @yoovechkin

Balance, an extension weighs more than the hollow composite shaft thereby giving him the weight distribution he prefers while at the same time not making the stick longer.

  • @yoovechkin to make it stiffer

or to lower the kik point ... i dunno

    only he does :P

  • @yoovechkin to even out the weight

  • @yoovechkin its a custom grip he ads. notice how its round instead of squared.

  • @yoovechkin it gives him the flex he wants and the length

  • @yoovechkin guess he like the feel of wood better for his grip than aluminum

  • @yoovechkin because he's pro.

  • @yoovechkin he shaves the extension so he has a cone-like grip

  • @yoovechkin so the top dosent flex as much...makes a stiffer and lower flex

  • @yoovechkin he does that to add weight to the top of the shaft to give it a more balanced feel.

  • @yoovechkin some players like to have there hadle a little smaller than there shaft and they cant shave it down with a composite stick so they would cut it and put a wood extenchen if you have and question message back because i didnt really know how to explain hope it help

  • @yoovechkin player some time like to have a smaller handle that the shaft so they shave it down. you cant do that with a composite stick so they would cut it and add extenchen message back if you have any questions

  • @AznxNija12 my extension keeps getting loose. what should I use to really keep them sitting tight for a long time?

  • @yoovechkin

    Torque

  • @yoovechkin because he wanted to have a smaller but end to have his feel on the stick if u look u can see that his but end is shaved down quite a bit

  • @morgoonafeta no its for flex, it helps change it to what he likes and the shaved down is to make the blade flatter on the ice.

  • @thebomb667 um...no he cuts it and then adds a thinner butt end its not for flex its for his top hand grip he clearly likes a thinner grip on his stick if it was for flex he wouldnt of cut it down

  • @morgoonafeta OK kid. whatever helps you sleep at night but in reality its for flex. cut your stick down and put a wood extension in and tell me how much stiffer it is.

  • @morgoonafeta true on the thinner butt thing but it will make your stick much stiffer, wow pretty gay sounding sentence.

  • @yoovechkin he can shape it cos its wood

  • @yoovechkin BETTER FEEL.

  • @yoovechkin so he can get the flex he wants

  • @yoovechkin He think it is more comfortable, i don't like it but i know i lot of guys who likes extenchen...

  • @yoovechkin stiffen the flex

  • @yoovechkin he wants a tapered end on his stick since his extension is filed down

  • @yoovechkin balance it out

  • @yoovechkin not exactly sure but when i put an extention on my stick it makes it whippier, so maybe he cuts it to make it whippier?

  • @yoovechkin it gives it more feel believe it or not. the vibrations travel through the extension much better than they do the normal shaft. also it does make it sturdier

  • @yoovechkin he put a special extension in it that is smaller up top to give it a better feeel

  • @yoovechkin because hes fucking petr sykora, he does what he wants.

  • @yoovechkin haha spelled it wrong

  • he sands down the heel because it makes it smooth

  • He breaks 3-4 sticks a game...WTF is he doing with them...thats ridiculous...someone should tell him that composite is compromised when it is heated or filed with a rasp,,,

  • @mhotrum17

i think he might know a few more things about sticks then you lol

  • what does the filing or shaving of the stick do?

  • Probably just makes the blade a bit closer to the ground or for a bit of a flatter feel, I guess.

  • @emericancitizen10 it gives them a better a grip and its smoother

  • ovechkin

  • o i fucked him

  • rangers all the way this yr..

  • yaaa!!!!!!!!!!!! GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he sands down the heel so much

  • welcome to the wild petr

  • HELLLLLLL YEAH! the minnesota wild are going to kick some serious ass this year!

  • Sykora has a nickanem Sejcek in Czech ...I ve met him right before game 2 Stanley Cup finals 2001 in downtown Denver colorado and he was such a good guy to talk ,we were joking .Elias was kid of cold and did not really talk that much .

I like Sykora and his personality and I heard from other Czech people ,he was nice with them !..so go PETO!

  • Elias owns

  • you guys are fucking retarded. watch them damn video and leave a good comment like this, "that guy is fucking awesome".

  • If I had my way Sykora would be an oiler until he retired

an absolute beauty of a player and an even better person

  • Well he hasn't signed with anyone yet, so unless he goes back to the pens you may get your way.

  • im guessing UR next reply will go something like this: I love it when people use the internet as an excuse for poor grammar and spelling. I'm a pretty boy. I get 10/10 on all my spelling tests. Each time I get ten out of ten my dad jumps off the roof and I get to suck his short penus because I like the killers which makes me a huge fagget. I wish my mommy was still around so I could eat her pussy with dad. Then U will try and repeat what i just said by saying im dumb and live in a shack.LOOOOSER

  • It is insane to make accusations as stupid as these that you have idiotically stated.Your a fuckin waist of life. Its so funny that, the is the only thing you can come up with is, that i like the killers so im gay? hahah thats one of the worst statements ever cinducted. HAHAH you're pathetic haha you're 29 and live in a fantasy.

  • ''Your a fuckin waist of life'' and then you talk about spelling, wow

  • Yes I usd the wrong form of "you're".

That comment was posted a month ago. Who the fuck was talking to you anyways? Learn to abbreviate before you even speak.

  • ahahaha, you spelt waste wrong

  • wow 120 sticks a year, thats riduculous

  • It is, but if my team was footing the bill I would be going through sticks every single day like they were toothpicks. I'd be bedazzling sticks, using them to construct elaborate slingshot-esque contraptions, making a hammock out of them...

Plus, his sticks break more easily because he grinds, curves and alters them.

  • i hate the straight toe, i like it rounded

  • hes like the best right wing in the world

  • the snap shot is sick with sykoras stick

  • It's really weird how people make their sticks. I am not a pro, I am only 13 years old, but I play AAA hockey and I do my sticks weird. I have a Datsyuk curve because it is flat and that is the way I like it, and then a wooden plug because I like the feeling of wood more.

  • why the fuck is he still tweaking a composite stick? Just have the stick company make it to your specifications. For fucks sake thats what I do. Sent them a blade that I tweaked and they make it. Done deal.

  • bull shit.

do you expect anyone to believe that a stick company is gonna waist their making a composite stick with a custom blade for you just because you sent them a blade? no i dont think so.

  • your an idiot talkin out of your ass

  • Ok all of you "expert" dumb asses. You obviously have no clue as to what you are talking about. You can have custom blades and sticks made you simply have to pay for them. Allow me to enlighten you ignorant dumb asses so that you will no longer be ignorant. Remaining dumb asses however, is up to you. Follow this link paying special attention to #4 where it states "bring your pattern we will make it."

  • i get my sticks for free from my junior team so i wouldnt have to worry about getting some shitty company like cristian or sher wood to customize a stick for me. i just get sticks ordered in.

  • and sticks from jr unless your playing anything way higher then jr a are far from custom superstar

  • WHL i use a straight curve so i dont have to worry about it but guys on my team this past season got their own curves.

  • Whats the name of your junior team? What league? Just out f curiosity.

  • western hockey league and i play for the medicine hat tigers

  • There is not a single player on the tigers who is 29. Nice try pal.

  • wtf when did i say i was 29 u dummy u can only play untlill ur 20 and start at sixteen u itiot

  • Hardcore youtuber? where the fuck do you get that from? Im fifteen, look at my age on my page,,,,FIFTEEN! You dont have to be 18 in order to have a youtube account dumbass, so the excuse your giving doesnt make any sense. Haha loser wannabe. You dont even know how to spell "dumb" hahaha there is a "B" at the end. Retard.

    Seriously, educate yourself.....pal.
