Big Bad Media!!! Gimme a break , I have deep respect for Dave Rmasey on most financial topics but on this he is totally off. To say that we are not in a Recession is STUPID with unemployment at 9.8% and the US debt crisis where it is how can you say no Recession! Go to Detroit, Cleveland or any big (non Southern ) city and tell me this is true
truthforamerica is some what right but bush did hade some what of a part to do with the econamey but its not as all BUSHS fault like zerotemp says I do agree hes a moron but he some what right bush did aloow the ballouts and the first tarp so some of it did fall under his watch..
Interesting listening with the rear-view mirror view. "Twice as many media stories about a recession when we're not in one": That statement jumps out at me. I would guess it's not too far off to say that there is FOUR TIMES as much "media" now than there was during the 90s. Lots of media, but very little journalism. It's a shame.
Dave Ramsey doesn't believe in fixing your problems for you. He encourages you to fix your problems yourself. Personal responsibility. It's not his job to give you a personal notice of financial difficulties to come. And if you're in charge of your money properly then you don't need Dave Ramsey to warn you. You won't need anyone to warn you, you'll already be set to ride out the problem as an inconvenience not a crisis.
Dave is simply stating the facts, At the time he said this we weren't mathematically in a recession, but the media was cramming it down our throats. Plus it was an election year. He was just simply trying to keep peoples spirits up. WE ARE THE ECONOMY!!! if we don't spend, there will be no new jobs.
Zeor is a left wing, liberal, unintelligent moron. You know how I know this? Because a typical liberal like him just says this without a clue what he is talking about and no facts to back himself up. When you can't argue with intelligence, you will just act like a moron.
Ramsay also preaches to invest in the stock market. He has mutual funds that he claims give him 17% interest, LOL.
I wonder if any of those were the bankrupt financial institutions that have collapsed the economy.
I wonder how much money Ramsay lost, LOL.
Better sell your bullshit books to make up for it. and be sure to dedicate your next book to GW BUSH and the Reb. Party for causing this disaster and theft.
@ZeroTemp Why are you so angered by someone using facts? He isn't giving an opinion. If you have a problem with what he said you have a problem with reality.

Dave Ramesy is a jackass. Listen to Jim Rogers predict everything we are seeing right now 1 year ago. Jim Rogers KNOWS we are in a recession. The White House LIES about inflation to come up with falsified gdp numbers. Everything's just fine and dandy. anyone who goes to buy gas/groceries knows that inflation is a problem. You posted this on 03/08/08 compare this garbage with the truth Jim Rogers tells you on 11/07. /watch?v=umeXaGb6Xco
You must be hallucinating docLSDc. You aren't saying much for your argument when you have no supporting facts. Let me give you an example so you can understand a little better. My friend, Jimmy, KNOWS that unicorns are real. Based on the argument comparative to yours, it must be true. Antimythites falsify the existence of unicorns even though Jimmy told me he rode one.
Ok, "hellrazer013". First, how do you expect anyone to respect what you say with the language you are using. Dave is right regardless of the trash you talk. Shame on you! I'm sure you will post a comment using even more foul language, it means nothing to me. Grow up.

If you believe this ASSHOLE youre an idiot. I wasn't very fond of Clinton, but his economic growth and reduction of national debt was better than any other president in history. You can play with your college definitions of recession and way off unemployment percentage till the end of time. Of coarse this douche bag, along with any republican is gonna play down recession. Every republican president since 1929 has caused one. Youre all fucking blind, democrats as well.
hey hes not a starder republican in fact he sead that ron pul was the only constlftiv consavtion on the gop but he was wakey hey if he can say I know hes great...
But we are NOT in a recession. Recession is an objective term with a clear definition. We are either in one or we are not. We have not had two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth. This is a media-manufactured crisis. People think they're about to go into soup lines when the remedy to the problems we do have is to adjust the way we spend money. Instead of going out to dinner 4 nights a week, go 3 nights a week. Buy a house you can afford. People haven't done that, and, well...
It's not whether or not we are in a recession. The purchasing power of the dollar has diminished, groceries, gold, gas, and other goods have accordingly gone up. You need to study ECON 101.
Yes and if you had studied ECON 101 you would know that with the diminished power of the dollar goods and services being exported from the United States are now more affordable in other countries that buy stuff from us. What does that mean? More jobs are being created here at home as domestic exports have been increasing. You can't take one factor, in this case inflation, (which has been at around 4% overall) and say the economy is going down the toilet.
adp, your argument doesn't hold water either. Under Bush, the unemployment rate average is lower than that of the three previous decades. Even lower than Clinton's.
Exactly right, some of my family that are Democrats constantly say we're in a recession, but in their voice there is a 'hope of a recession' so team Bush gets the blame
True, but I do hope that the dems get the white house for a term. Then the world will see that they are no different in the broad spectrum of things! I am a former Republican gone Libertarian, once the Dems fall flat on their face maybe the people will truly get sick of the same old routine and we can get a libertarian in office and truly have a direction of change.
This guy is a bush lover. A better idea of a recession includes inflation, unemployment, and gdp. The last two quarters were .6 assuming a 2 percent inflation lol. Here is what a friends dr. told him. "My doctor told me today that people in Asia are already planning for the U.S. Collapse. He laughed when I asked if he thought the U.S. was going into Depression, he said were already in one."
You are obviously ill informed. The average unemployment under Bush has been less than Clinton's average of 5.2%. A recession is 6 months of negative growth. Just because gas prices are high and it feels like harder times, it doesn't mean that we are in a recession. Guess you need to take an ECO 101 class to figure that out. Inflation is not a factor. And if we get Hillary or Barack, they are going to raise taxes so high that any potential growth is out the window and yes then recession.
Are they going to take our guns too? Your special. I'm a republican. But, under Bush and the republican congress they've run up the highest debt in national history, increased government more than ever, and helped finish off the economy. Like I said when they declare a recession they look at GDP, unemployment, and inflation. Yes, Barack will be better than Bush or Mccain. And, that's coming from me a republican. My 60 year old aunt voted democrat for the first time in her entire life this year.
So , what you are saying is.... the economy is doing well? And your examples are? I think we have yet to get enough coverage on the dollar and the possible collapse. And for the record..all the candidates suck.
Recession is simply two periods/ quarters without or decline in growth. Now, , this is a question of who's numbers you embrace. And I don't beleive the media could dictate the health on an economy. Oil alone could easily put us in a depression. Everything is based , fundamentally, on the cost of oil. This is why "I" believe that we are in a inflationary recession based on the ( fall of the U.S. dollar) rise on oil prices. Media bias is not responsible for the rising cost of oil.......

@pyrowolf3918 Chuck Norris would be the secretary of spank. Ramsey should have ben bernake's job. Michael Savage president. That would fix this mess.
