  • nice amp.....I got a 15w one and it reall kicks!

  • Wow you seem to be extremely self critical with low self esteem

  • Pwanage \m/>_<\m/

  • Squire? The Name says Squire but I hear Fender. :D

  • nice video, thanks for posting.i can't obtain a good clean sound from my squier and a line 6 15 watts amp.Otherwise distortion is good.Any idea?

  • thats the first squire ive heard that didnt sound like a wet fart

  • "Great Bang for the Buck." that's my new favorite amp based expression :D

  • check out the jim root telecaster. i think you'll find a harder tone. and it has the emg 61/80 picks.

  • Get a Fender Frontman. Don't be distracted by the effects and flashing lights. This amp is terrible, I owned one for two years and it SUCKED!

  • @Butzopower Sorry, but I could not disagree more! This amp sound VERY good and for the price I say you can't beat it. I'll take my Line6 head to head against you and your Frontman any day, bring it on! Any type of music/ sound you want from full on Metal to Twang to Jazz. I'm not trying to blast you but maybe your just not that good at dialing in an amp.

  • @arrakkis666 I've owned it for two years and have tried every preset and have constantly tweaked settings.. Maybe I just got a lemon (which I doubt), but it sounded like fucking mush. I don't have a bad guitar either; it has Dimarzio Evolution's so I don't think that was the problem. But hey, to each his own.

  • Awesome playing. I have a Squier. I have the Custom Vibe 50's. I also have a Line6 SpiderIV 30 watt and 150 combos. The thirty I use for bedrrom and the 150 for jams and stage. I play country. The twang red preset is my favorite. On the 150 I use the Albert Lee artist presets four my four custom presets. Squier's quality control impressed me and the pickups I believe are alnico V. And have those sweet strat sounds.

  • @guitarjammer1 Yes sir, agreed! If your into county I'd suggest checking out a Squire Tele. I've got a cheap Affinity model and it plays and sounds excellent!

  • I'm buying it!

  • @Cletten Good luck with it!

  • @arrakkis666 thanks. I think it's a nice guitar for beginners and even for pro training.

  • theres no way the pickups are original. I've never heard a Squier sound that good. I've heard better, but still thats better than any squier I've ever heard

  • @Sketch95 Nope, sorry it's completely stock/ original. It is a metal version of the Strat, called a Squire Showmaster with a humbucker pickup in the bridge which helps with the heavy overdrives. Most single coil pickups, especially the cheaper and or vintage (which can be really expensive) ones just don't have the output to sound good with distortion. I've got a cheap Squire Affinity Tele with single coils though and it also sounds great, those singles in that Tele or pretty powerful singles!

  • You can play. Just don't be like 99 percent of all these guys and think you have to have all the "most popular" eddie van halen or whatever riffs down. Make up your own shit, listen to your soul.

  • You look like a tramp in your dirty vest

  • A metal strat huh? well if you say so...

  • @kelton22 Yup! It's a copy, sort of of a Fender Showmaster (a Metal player's Strat) It's a Squire Showmaster. Check it out.

  • all about peavy vypyr

  • @gold3npimp peavy vypyr fucking suck

  • This has probably been said a lot of times in the comments, but I bet anybody who read the title probably had their doubts immediately as they saw it. But less than a minute into it you melt their faces. Well done.

  • How is the playability of the squire, is it a good guitar for the money? How fast is the neck? Nice PLaying!

  • Dude you don't have to excuse yourself with annotations it doesn't bother me i'm here to see what that amp can do geezz

  • I have line 6 spider 3 75 watt... and to me it doesn't sound as good as I was expecting... I've played through marshalls that cost around the same and I could notice a differnce in the sound.. but it's still a great amp and I never will regret buying it.

  • Huh, your neck is left-handed, but body is right-handed.

    Well, like it matters.

  • That's how this model is made. It's kindda a Metal version with the inverted head stock and a humbucker in the bridge position. Lots of guitars are like this.

  • Oh yeah, you're right. The text is right way.

  • @MegaUltraChicken5000 Its just a reverse head

  • You're not really that bad for not playing seriously in over 15 years. Give yourself some consideration.

And the line 6 sounds great. I might want to get one of those as an upgrade for the peavey I've got.

  • Thanks, BTW the Line6 is great but the new Peavey Vypyr's are really nice too! Which Peavey do you have?

  • Just a crappy rage 158. I either want to get a roland cube 30x or the line 6 you're using. Not sure whether I should spend 300 for a line 6, however.

Although, perhaps I could get my hands on one for less on craigslist. Have to think about it.

  • Yeah, I don't know much about the Roland cude, sorry but as for the line6, if you want a heavy sound and so good clean sounds I say you can't beat it for the price. You could def find one on craigs at a great price too. Also, if you don't need the volume the 75watt is the way to go, wish I had gotten that one due to the fact that it's lighter and still plenty powerful.

  • The question I mainly have is whether or not the higher watt increases the clarity or simply the volume.

However, I might pick up a cheaper line 6 amp. Depending on whether or not it's available in the Saint Louis area.

  • I would think that high wattage would not add to better sound clarity, that would probable depend more on the capabilities of the speakers. bLine6 Spiders are well worth the money spent in my opinion though.

  • Then it's down to a line 6 spider or the roland cube.

  • @xxFortunadoxx dude get a roland cube i have both the distortions arent great for metal or heavy rock on the cube but the clean tone is extremely better not to mention if you get a distortion pedal like the bodd metalzone i have a metal core and regret buying it its horrible metal zone is way better but yea the cube is alot better definately the better buy

  • Cool. I'll see if there are any in my area.

  • @xxFortunadoxx yea check in a guitar center if u hav 1 neer

  • @arrakkis666 just a crappy 158 I least his got something not the want to get this or that. can you say window shopper.

  • This is a perfect example of someone that a believe psych's call a "leveler". They have a need to find reasons to put others down in order to put that person below themselves, in the leveler's own mind at least. Basically low self esteem losers.

  • in all these comments your saying that youve gone down to guitar center quite a bit? you also sound like you play atleast once a month?

  • Yes, that was the reason I bought the ine6 in the first place, to play more. I have been playing more in the past several months they I have in the past 15 or so years! I've got some recording software coming for the computer too, want to try and write/ record some new stuff. Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • BTW, I had nothing to do with EpicMountainMan's account closing.

  • i dont care if your wearing your grandmas under wear as long as it sounds good!! great job brother!!

  • Haha, even if EpicMountainMan will probably not be able to read this, but that was a clear example of a big fail.

  • EpicMountainMan - account closed. Enough said.

  • Thanks for the comment, do you feel better about yourself now?

  • 1.12 wicked

  • Yeah, just a riff from and old song from one of my old trash bands. Thanks!

  • Pretty good vid. I'm buying a Spider IV and keeping my old Spider III as my practice amp, so I was wonodering if I should replace the speakers in the IV. But really good video, are those the stock pickups in the Squire Strat or were they replaced? Asking cause the rhythm guitarist in the band I play for also plays through a Spider III and his Squire sounds like crap.

  • Why would you want to replace the speaker? Yes, it's the stock pick up but, this model Squire has a double coil in the back. I do have a Squire Afinity Tele though that's got stock single coils and they sound really good too, so who knows?

  • I wonder if it's his guitar, the settings or maybe a wiring/ electronics issue? Have you tried your guitar in his amp? Have you tried his guitar in your amp? It's all about experimenting and prossess of elimination.

  • Yes, we've done both, and mine through his sounds abit off, but his guitar through my amp sounds utterly terrible. I think his amp's speakers are dying. thats why about the speakers.

  • Sound like your on the right track. I think he's guitar wiring or pick ups are shot. Does it sound bad no matter with pick up is selected? And yeah, sound like his speaker may be going. Good luck with it.

  • could be a fuse in the amp? Try replacing the fuse if you havent already

  • I have no qualms with my strat, i've had it since i was 6,

And i still have the lil 10 inch amp that came with it, i am planning on replacing it(finally), as soon as can afford it

  • Yeah, I used to pay in some Metal bands but that was long ago ass wipe! Now I do suck.

  • I was playing a cheap Squire Affinity Tele at guitar centers and some kids came over and couldn't believe I was playing and sounding that good on such a cheap guitar. So, yes all true.

  • Yes agreed to a degree! I have played really pricy guitars that were set up like crap, don't know if they could ever even be set up to play nice! And I have played cheap guitars that were awesome!

  • hey is the spider iii better than the spider iV

  • I would think not but... who knows? I have never played one but, I think it's pretty much the same as the III but with more options and all. Also check out the peavey vyper.

  • would this sound good with a squier strat with 3 singlecoil pickups no humbuckers?

  • Not 100% sure but, I have a Squire Tele Afinity (the cheap one) with single coils but, they are pretty potent single coils and they do sound great IMO. Go to a Guitar Center and try it with a squire would be my advise.

  • Is that a humbucker near the bridge? (please reply)

  • Yes it is.

  • nice job im new to playing but this gives me more drive to keep at it you said its been a while since you played i cant tell helluva job dude.

  • I love that sound!

What settings/presets are you using with the distortion part to the video?

  • If you read the older comments I have listed them, thanks.

  • LOL be kind with comments cause you haven't played for 15 years? How can someone write bad comments, you're really good omg

  • are you playing a left handed guitar upside down with it strung with the strings going in the opposite way so that its basically a right handed? just asking cus the headstock is the wrong way round. pretty nice sounding amp, im planning on getting one, and i have a squier strat so this vid was pretty helpful, cheers.

  • What I would do is go to your closest well stocked guitar store and try out a variety of guitars like Ibanez, Jackson and anything else to see which one works best in your hands. Ibanez have wide flat necks and some love em and some hate em. The model you mentioned has a fix bridge too so I would personally stay away cause for $499 I can buy a good guitar with a floyd rose which I prefer and it's better and more versitile.

  • HELP PLEASE:

I have a Fender Squier Strat.

I am thinking of buying a IBANEZ RGA42

Should I? Help please I will SUB WHO HELPS

  • nice man wat are your settings

  • If you check the olded comment I go over my settings. Thanks.

  • awesome reversed neck

  • I got the 75 watt. Cool amp

  • your good.

  • what riff is that at 1:43?

  • you mean the sweeping?

  • Just some sweep/ tapping thing that I used to do way back when.

  • I didn't know my Line 6 could do that to a pathetic guitar like a squier. Hahaha. Glad I bought the same amp you have.

  • Tells me how ignorant you are.

Although I agree that the Squier series aren't the best guitars. Line 6 SPIDERS arent anything to smile about. The sound is so digital compared to other brands such as Fender, Peavey, Marshall. Now the Line 6 vetta series.. orgasmic. There are worse guitars than Squier buddy. I bet you have a cheap RG, or a GIO. or an Epiphone LOL... not much better than a Squier Strat. Honestly.

  • I play Metal, not Rock. The Line 6 gives me the sounds I need, although I AM aiming for a Marshall full stack. The Guitar I own is an Ibanez, a decent one, not cheap nor expensive. However, try playing this squier through a marshall. It still won't sound as good >.> I was only adding on to what the video maker was trying to get through

  • xJurzu, playing your Ibanez though a marshall is not going to sound much different than this Squire I'm sorry to say. Your guitar may have hotter pick up but there not going to make a great deal of differences. An old Marshall just doesn't put out that kind of overdrive not with out the help of an effect like a distortion pedal.

  • And btw people I have to laugh when I hear people talking down solid state amps with the old I only play thru tubes but than they use a distortion pedal!!! Duh, that distortion pedal is solid state not tubes.

  • OxNecrox0, i disagree. I happen to realy like the sound of the line6 spider sorry. Also, if you read THIS videos discription you will see that I own several Marshall all tube amps, a JMP 50w & a jcm800 100w.

  • Is that the 150 watt?

  • Yes.

  • watts i mean lol

  • 150W 2X12 speakers.

  • yo how many amps and speakers??

  • lol this guys says "he has not played seriously in 15 years" but he pulls of sweep arpeggios like he has been practicing for days...

  • yea hes been practicing for days since he bought his new amp dumbass

  • Sorry, not really. When you have a full time job, wife and kids and you don't make money paying a guitar then practice does not happen that often. In fact I only made the video on a fluke. I was in the middle of working on a car, came inside and saw the cam out. zdid it cause when I was looking nobody had any vid about the spider so I made one.

  • how do you get the screaming bend

  • Which bend? At what time in the video?

  • at 1:30 and near 1:38

  • Oh, those are what you call pinch harmonics. You accomplish them by picking the note but as your picking it your thumb (on the picking hand) must thouch the string also thus creating the harmonic tone. Do a search and see if anyone has posted a video about how to do a pinch harmonic they sound cool, their a bit hard to get the hang of at first but once you get the technic down... it's a piece of cake!

  • You're obviously illiterate; the guy stated he hasn't played in 15 years. Where did you learn to read?

  • 15w is all you need on a day to day basis

  • You wont need 100 watts for something that small. I would reccomend a 75 at loudest, it's what my band was using at our talent show.

  • Wow I've never heard such amazing sound quality out of such a cheap guitar lol

  • I've got a Squire Affinity Tele that sounds even better too! Single coil pick ups and all!

  • I have the same model- I like it - it chops

  • Where'd you get your's? I got this one at Sam Ash in Edison, NJ.

  • I got mine at palin music store in springfield missouri.

  • You play pretty impressive considering you haven't played since 15 years ^^ .

  • Thanks, still can't seem to find any time to play though.

  • i guess where you plug the guitar in is the 50% of the sounds but for a so cheap guitar i guess its a nice buy anyway!

  • how can u stop playing..!!!!!!

  • It's call wife, kids, job, houses and all that stuff.

  • Ok.......I'm going to say something........you are a kick-ass dad for getting your kids guitars and amps. I hope they become rich, famous rock stars and buy you a huge frikken house and a super fast car and all the trips to arbys that a man could ever want.....

    good job!

  • thats actuley the nicest squier they make

  • do you have one, no someone who does or ever played one?

  • yeh well i had a squier when i started but if thats the shohwmaster it definitley has great tone but ive played the one that has a floyd rose and duncans so i dont know what setup you have on there nut stock is still very nice

  • This is just a stock, cheap Squier. Stock pick ups, unlocking trem and all. Think I paid $179.00 for it. Bought it cause I went in looking for a guitar for my son, played some but when I played this one it just played great so... I bought it.

  • is that 30 watt??

  • Yes it is.

  • idt the squier sounds to bad in this. then again he can just be really good

  • I like the paintjob on the Squier. BTW nice playing

  • its a squier stagemaster

  • Yes, pretty good guitar but, I have played other squiers, I even have a squier afinity tele (that's the really cheap one) and it plays awesome too!

  • haha nice dude, thats good playing "i dont play much anymore" but you can still do some serious shredding. good work.

  • 15 years????? hahah man you KILLED it bro 5 starz :-)

  • No, it's the $499 one. If you like these I suggest the 75 watt as the cheapest one worth buying, I think it's $399 though but I could be wrong. The 75 watt and up are the only ones that allow you to store present I think and if your gonna do anything more than just practice you need presents and a pedal to change to the different presets. You know clean to distorted to and lead channel with some delay or flange and all.

  • 75 watt is $299 now. And its awsome. Great Price and great sound.

  • I have 75 watt =)

  • Yeah. I was going to buy it, but I'm going to try something different. Or maybe just stick with my little old $75 microcube for a while, buy a new electric/acoustic. =D

  • If your gonna try something else check out the Peavey Vypers. I tried 'em at guitar centers a few weeks ago and I loved 'em! I think I would have bought that over the spider if they were out at the time. I think they both sound really good but the peaveys have more effects. Both great little amps though.

  • How much they cost, and are they good for shreding metal and insane stuff?

  • hellz yea it is ;]

u can a lot of metal and shred variations out of it

it also has dialed in sounds such as entersandman and cowboys from hell for instance

  • I think Ill buy this Line 6 or Peavey bandit 112. Cannot decide. :-) Thank you for a nice video. Even this amp is relatively cheap. It plays nice. Question is just a durability. Smae as with Bugera valve amps. If it plays. It plays as 5x more expensive stuff.

  • If your looking at Peavey check out the Vyper rather than the Bandit. Hey I had a Peavey Bandit 65 back in the day, it sounded like crap! Small solid state combo amps have come a ong way.

  • what a tit

  • my son little cheap guitar lmao XD

  • you have a left handed guitar and you are playing it right handed. you can tell because the end of the neck is upside down

  • Sure?? Take a look at the bridge... :)

  • its an inverted headstock.

  • no its just a reverse headstock. look at the cutaways and the bridge

  • its a reverse headstock

  • no kidding

  • I'm not some loser adult that ruined his life already. Your the one thats making youtube videos instead of having a good life. Think about that. Maybe its a sign. ROFL.

  • how the hell have you not played for that long and still play good??

  • i like your style in music and playing, keep it up

  • omg guy buy an IBANEZ!!!

  • Gibson sucks.

  • Why? Let me see, I have a Fender USA Strat, a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, 2 Hamer Californian's, A Gretch Electromatic and several other guitars why would I buy an Ibanez?

  • fuck those guitars sound liek ballsack clean

  • Sorry but you are talking out your ass, then sound very good clean. The Bridge pick up is a bit harsh clean but then again I prefer a single coil for a clean sounds, check out 3:47 on in the video.

  • ur making urself look like a sucky guitar player but ur prety good

  • Well first of all thanks :) And I've a ESP LTD Ex-50 and it's a pretty heavy sound (but it was not very expensive though) I can make out a heavy sound but deep sounds end with an very loud noise and that bothers me a bit :/

  • How many Watts has this amp is it really the 30 Watts version? Cause I have the 30 Watt version and I can't find the "right" sound

  • No, this is not the 30 watt version, it's the largest solid state combo spider, 150 watt. But you should be able to get some nice sounds out of your 30. Look down at old comments where I( list my settings. Remember your sound also depends on your guitar, mostly it's pick-ups and how it's wired, (I've see guitars modified and screwed up wiring) or fualty wiring/ cords. If that's the case your sound will suffer.

  • What guitar do you have and are they double or single coil pick-ups? Do you have the volume and tone knobs turned all the way up? Are you using the rear/ bridge pick-up for your more rhythmish playing? That pick-up produces a heavier more biting sound, better for harmonics and pinch harmonics. I like to use the neck pick-up for more of the lead playing cause it produces a more rolling sound with out the piercing highs.

  • Some cheap and vintage or vintage like double coils and many singles are to weak to produce a heavy metal sound. I do have a cheap affinity tele, that is mine, not my son's that has single coils but, their the hottest singles I have ever used and I get a pretty heavy sound with em', quite noisy but heavy. Also volume and tone need to be all the way up to give max preamp drive. Well, let me know how you make out. Thanks

  • HOLD ON A MINUTE! That guitar has strings! I thought the kids of today played some video game guitar without strings lol!

Dude, you can still play. I wish I could have played half as good as you are playing in that video.

  • Yeah, most kids I think do prefer guitar hero to learning a real instrument, go figure. They try to get me to play, which I do play on occasion (Rock Band) but, why spend the time working on a fake guitar instead of a real one??? I do like playing as the singer though and the drums can actually translate to real drum playing, that my younger sons forte. Thanks for the comment though

  • More distortion? I checked one out the other day and I felt it had as good of a heavy sound as my Line 6 so, I'm confused at your comment. Maybe your guitar has weak pick-ups or there is a wiring problem. Maybe you just need to experiment with it a little more. I got some great sounds out of it!

  • i think the playing was pretty good btw... nice squeals and sweeps.

  • Thanks for the positive comment!!!

  • so what amp would u reccomend??? the peavey vypr or this amp??

  • this amp

  • Hey, I stop by Guitar Centers the other day and checked out the Peavey Vyper on your mention of it. My opinion is I really liked it! As good as the Line 6 if not even better, more effects and amp models! So, I would recommend it over the line 6. I would say to you though, go to a store that has them both and check em' out for yourself. Thanks
