  • Please tell me .

What is the brand of this jeans?

  • who is richie?

  • thx for this great clip...hehehe

  • stop digital bullshit ! techno ,music and art has skills ,

the digital enviroment needs no skills just your money !

  • turntables look cool .Cdj's were meant to simulate turntables but they don't.They don't even spin round, they are overpriced too.

The traktor with vinyl set up is good ,it brings back the vinyl !!

  • @raymondo1992 well, show me how to loop a digital vinyl system or set hot cues, which gets more and more important to Djs all over the world. and look at Hawtins other setup, two midi controllers on a xone 92 mixer. everything digital. and the possibilities are jsut amazing. you know, you don't win anything by using digital vinyl, even the amazing sound of classic vinyl is gone cause basically it's all about your mp3 quality

  • traktor sound better then cd anyway ...

  • Technology already killed the DJ some time ago,

you go to a club and dj is never looking at the dance floor, he or she has their head down going through tracks, tracks, tracks,

  • @dubmaverick69 thats what they are supposed to do, play not look at the bitches or doing lines off the vinyl

  • Richie hawtin - the tunnel

  • track id please!!!

  • richie hawtin - the tunnel

  • thank god he doesnt look like an emo douchebag anymore. his old haircut was utter shite

  • Techno icon ?

  • @punkyultras they are hardly gonna say techno novice ?

  • Traktor is the new REVOLOTION !!

  • ThE BoSkOs sOnG!!!!

    AJajAJAJAJJJJJJjJA

  • why use turntables???????? why use cd's?????

  • Because we dont have to, there are other ways to get us dancing,

Vinyl is still great but more can be done without the art of mixing records,

i love a good mix and have watched and listened to many great DJ's using technology outside the studio/bedroom and bringing it to the clubs is a step i like.

  • turntables cause there are some killer tracks that is not able on cd or beatport. And to me someone who is completely uses turntables during sets get's more respect from me. It's original and needs a higher class dj to stand in front of turntables

  • 0:30 where is playng??

  • Lord Sir Plasikman almighty, waaaarp waaaarp waaaaap, boing boing boing, rrrrrrrrrrppttt

  • boooo

  • Comment removed

  • he is sweet yes and he has nice hair

  • He is so cute & smart

  • can tracktor be connected to other mixers then the x ones??? and wich of those programs is better:

    tracktor

    torq

    serato

  • xones are midi-controllers, and yes traktor runs with nearly every midi-controler.

    no doubt, its traktor..

  • any midi controller. and traktor is far better than the other two. its between ableton n traktor.

  • and creativity into Dj'ing using new equipment.

(After discovering the simplicity of dance music production, i realised it can be made hands on live. Also the fact that so many samples and loops are used).

Its last step before using full studio equipment live.

  • for one minute it sounds like something they know, but then it gets totally reconfigured.

Q.Why not just make a remix before a show ?

Because doing it live means it always different, responsive to the audience and continually evolving.

I started off as a Dj at 12 years old, but im now a producer. So after coming from a studio environment and returning to Dj'ing, i felt as if mixing with two records was very limited and straight forward. So what i've done is attempt to bring my musical talent..

  • then arrange as i go along.

Building my own build ups, breakdowns, and song compositions.

Its a continous process. I chop up drum loops into individual drum hits, punch out a beat and re-sample it, then maybe take a 2 bar phrase from a random track of maybe another genre of music, either chop it or effect it or both, re-sample, loop and maybe filter.

This may sound like ovious stuff, but what im creating actually sounds like a track in itself. But the crowd get excited because..

  • I need to get on the scene.

I play at various London clubs to 'trendy' crowds but i have alot more to perform live, and i need the right audience.

I currently use Xone4d, Serato with turntables, Ableton Live, a Pedal Looper and a Kaos Pad, and what im doing is way ahead of these guys.

I don't rehearse, or devise playlists or pre-edit tracks or Dj tools. But im creating new music and re-edits and remixes live on the fly, using the original tracks.

    I sample, loop, effect, re-sample,

  • @DonJuanDeMarco2

Do you have any performances we can check out?

  • @abrahamcabrera Yea getting some video footage or recordings down is something that has been requested and on my list for some time. Unfortunately i havent done either ! Also i have been taking a break from dj'ing to concentrate on production, which is very time consuming considering i have had to rebuild a new studio for myself.

But its inevitable that i will have a channel devoted to my work and i will put alot of effort into and share.

  • what is the name of that dark hard electro loop sample at the end of the video. Its awesome!

  • to waltwhite00:

    mathew jonson - decompression (M_nus)

  • hes a VERY wise man but i dont agree :( programs like this just make shit "DJ's" sound good... 2 turntables > all

  • traktor sounds really good, for anyone looking to produce and dj on a same computer(budget), this is a good solution. i run live 7 & logic8 at home thru the interface, and traktor scratch when djing: just take off the phase meter and it'll feel normal :) i think it sounds better than SERATO or CDJ1000s, and u dont have to look at the computer so much.

  • i prefer ableton

  • doesn't Richie go on a bit!! Still, a legend all the same.

  • what brand are those speakers?

  • Genelec 1030A speakers, same as mine... ;-)

  • 10q do you know an online store pls?

  • Traktor scratch is hands down the best out there.

  • lo que abra tenio qe pagar... xD

  • coolio

  • Traktor Scratch is more powerful and therefor better.

i will be buying it in a few weeks and cant wait!!!

  • isnt serato much better?

  • The middle track is Risk Assessment by Plastikman.

  • Richie Hawtin and Justin Robertson

That was years ago at homelands in dublin

What a fantastic 12 hour of music

We were in up the front for hawtins whole..

It was a long set :)

  • This worries me a little coz i haven't tryed it yet, but im thinking it's not what i'm thinking it is, it just aids the sound leveling probably?

Native instruments take out the problem of having one record play too loud or quiet by incorporating automatic input level normalization so all your tunes will play at the same volume. This feature also saves valuable mixing time, as you do not need to set the volume on the mixer depending on the track you are playing.

  • but leveling the two tracks is hardily a massive problem. just a quick change of the gain and a quick listen and check the level meters.

its reli not much 'valuable mixing time' it saves

i used Final Scratch a few years ago, im interested to try this out. to see how much the technology has come on in that time.

but i think i still intend to go to Ableton

  • Richie is amazing,

I remember John Peel Shopw on bbc Radio 1fm

Peel was at the madavale studios with hawtin and aquavivia

Man that was some set.. i have in it casette :)

Canb't wait to get traktor scratch

That korg zero 8 looks like my new toy, for ableton and decks

    Cool wooohooo excited!

  • nice!

  • richie and james zabiela are 2 freakin dj geniouses.. like they were on some kind of matrix when they mix..

  • lo mejor ke existe !!!

DIGITAL HEART & VINIL SOUL. yeeahhh!!!

  • ??? jaja ni sabes de que estas hablando POSE

??? lol u have no idea what r u talking about POSER , stop talkin shit

  • porke seguro ke tu si no ?

  • the first track is richie hawtin the tunnel

  • he looks like Brian Mcfadden

  • who is it? why

  • he made the switch from serator right? well first final scratch then serato now traktor?

  • can someone ID the last track PLEASE

  • Mathew Jonson - Decompression (M_nus 24)

  • and whats the last track? soo cool

  • it's Mathew Jonson - Decompression

it's realy not the best from Mathew Jonson for me

  • I dont remember the name of the middle track but it sounds like Marc Houle or Troy Pierce

  • Richie Sponsored by NI

  • sounds like richie should try ableton

  • Richie uses ableton already. He uses it often live next to Traktor.

  • yes i know

  • So why sould he try it if he uses it professionally already? :p

  • sarcasm sir, sarcasm

  • Okay didnt feel the sarcasm. I'm sorry for the trouble man.

  • LEGEND

  • the tunnel

  • anyone can tell me the name of the intro track????

  • The tunnel is part of the DE9 | Transitions mix. You have to listen to it entirely to completely enjoy it

this mix is the most incredible and powerful one that i know

it changed my life and my way of thinking about music

    realy

  • thanks

  • tr-808 & reverb & tb-909 and great imagination..
