There was something magical about this game that subsequent BioWare RPGs have not been able to capture or replicate. Dragon Age: Origins came close at times but simply could not one up this game.
I've always adored the music in Star Wars games for the Jedi Academies. Jedi Outcast's Yavin Academy Trial soundtrack was nice and peaceful, with a playful tone.

I remember when I was littler playing this game, Bastila had just turned to the Dark Side and my mom made me get off. I trudged into the other room and sat there for an hour thinking about how i could save Bastila :.)
I was like 6 years old when I first played this song and I was both into this game and lego, so I made a big lego wall to conceal myself, I had like one of these bubble making solutions (those things you blow and make bubbles (PM me and I'll send you a picture.)) and the tube where that substance was looked like a lightsaber hilt, and on the top it had different colors like blue, green, yellow, so I sat between my bed and the lego wall while this music was playing and I started meditating. Lol.
Dantooine and Kashyyyk were my fav planets in KOTOR. One of the best RPG's ever made and probs the best in the Star Wars series. Can't wait to explore in The Old Republic planets

this game is so amazing. i wish i could play it for the first time over and over again. it is one of the very few video games that i have ever felt a connection to. i am truly disappointed with lucasarts for not creating a third game and insisting that the upcoming mmo is going to be better. it wont have the same feel with other players running around and distracting you from your journey. hopefully, sometime in the future, there will be another KOTOR

Damn when i got this game, i could only complete the taris levels, my computer wasnt good enough for others, but i was so into this game, i did everything within my power and pocket to make my computer good enough, so i can take another step in the amazing kotor universe
No other game has made me feel like I'M the main character as much as this game. When I was escaping Taris, I wasn't just controlling some dude. I was runing for MY life. On Dantooine, I always felt like it was ME doing Jedi training, not a bunch of pixels on my screen. I was the clever dude solving the feud, I was the one that saved Juhani from the dark side.
No other game has made me forget that I wasn't my character. KotOR did, and it sent me on a journey I couldn't even imagine.

@testogel85 Nah. Mass Effect is excellent, but I didn't feel like I was Shepard that much. It felt more like I was observing and directing Shepard's journey, not like I was actually Shepard. It probably has to do with his actually talking, whilst in KotOR you just select the answer. Still, Mass Effect is excellent, and Mass Effect 2 is my 4th favourite game of all time, right behind KotOR at nº 3 :)

This was my first RPG, played it as a kid - breathtaking, amazing, I have no words for what an immersive, enjoyable game this is.
Overall, I have played this game for about 10 times, maybe more. I keep going back to it, because it is so damn good. I think what I love about it is that it is the Old Republic, I didn't like the original Star Wars films because there were, like, no jedis or sith, no republic vs empire etc.

kotor is better than ocarina of time. I dont care what everyone says; if they have played both kotor and ocarina of time and they still say that ocarina of time is better, then they played kotor incorrectly.
This music makes me laugh actually, I remember I always happen to be on Dantooine when I would flirt with Bastila and annoy the shit out of her hahaha good times.
One of the things Im really looking forward to in swtor is the music. So far, the music in k1 and k2 have been both epic, beautiful, amazing, etc. I hope they can continue the knights tradition of the best original scores.
I remember the first time that the crew and I flew to Dantooine on the Ebon Hawk. The experience was as exciting and exhilarating as if I was literally going to Dantooine myself... for real. The fact that Taris was all over was nice to know (even though now, I miss that place more than ever). Good job LucasArts + BioWare. You guys never let us down! By the way, take all the time you guys need for SWtoR. Please! I want this game to be perfect, which it will be...
It's a shame that these days most developers focus so much on the engine and graphics that they forget about a solid storyline. BioWare is one of a few companies which can still deliver that. I hope TOR will be at least half as addicting as KoTOR.
When I hear this song or the Dantooine theme music, I instantly think of the first kotor. This game is the ultimate best, way better than the second one. I like the second one too, but the story line had a terrible fall towards the end. The first one has a great storyline and moderate to poor gameplay, whereas Kotor II had a poor storyline, but great advancing gameplay!
i played so many great games in my life and im 20 yrs old...but this game forever stands out in my mind, i remember playing this when it 1st came out, and all the sickdays from school and nights playing it, by far 1 of the greatest games i ever played
@GamingAtGermany I think Kotor 2 was good on the scale of sequels. A lot of sequels turn out horribly, Kotor 2 was ok but paled in comparison to the first. Pretty poor that Obsidian wasn't given the opportunity to ship the game as intended.

Escaping Taris really felt liberating to me. It wasn't just "Another Level", I really felt the shine of Taris dull as I went through, as the game meant you to. When I stole the Ebon Hawk and set course for the wonders of the Galaxy I couldn't believe that after all of Taris there might be even more to this game. When I found out that I was going to famous Dantooine, to be a Jedi no less... It was just incredible.
Made me really sad when they announced the Old Republic to be an MMO. I was like, "YESSSSS!!! ANOTHER KOTOR!!!.... Oh, it's an MMO and will probably cost money monthly...."
@kittylactose you underestamate the power of a jedi if u come back into the light you can learn how to channel your lust for power and learn to forgive and not give into your emotion the sith are all of betrayl even if you manage to become lord of the sith you will be struck down by someone more powerful unless you turn away from this path you will be weak a jedi is more powerful than you think

Haha, I remember a time where I uploaded kotor soundtrack onto my PSP, and falling asleep while listening to this song... then it ended and Malak's theme was next on the playlist, unpleasantly waking me up. XD

Made a female Jedi, Shayla Karst, and went on a epic journey trough hyperspace like in the good ol' days :)

i played so many great games in my life and im 20 yrs old...but this game forever stands out in my mind, i remember playing this when it 1st came out, and all the sickdays from school and nights playing it, by far 1 of the greatest games i ever played

@GamingAtGermany I think Kotor 2 was good on the scale of sequels. A lot of sequels turn out horribly, Kotor 2 was ok but paled in comparison to the first. Pretty poor that Obsidian wasn't given the opportunity to ship the game as intended.

I rememer my first time playing this game.
Pure Magic.
Escaping Taris really felt liberating to me. It wasn't just "Another Level", I really felt the shine of Taris dull as I went through, as the game meant you to. When I stole the Ebon Hawk and set course for the wonders of the Galaxy I couldn't believe that after all of Taris there might be even more to this game. When I found out that I was going to famous Dantooine, to be a Jedi no less... It was just incredible.
KOTOR was a masterpiece

Haha, I remember a time where I uploaded kotor soundtrack onto my PSP, and falling asleep while listening to this song... then it ended and Malak's theme was next on the playlist, unpleasantly waking me up. XD
