wow,,totally cool,,they cant quite get it together b cause there is an absence of acid ,everyone was doin it when cream was formed and during the whole existence of cream, thats why it kinda sounds like shit except the drumming,,,but clapton is god,,,THE REAL GUITAR GOD,,,ya know,,,whos with me on this one??
I disagree. Ginger is maybe 60% of himself - he was ill with cancer. even without; his 70+ yrs. limbs don't hit quite on top of the beat nor nearly so hard.
2. the indirect sound from this bootleg does Cream no favor but this is not a good Clapton solo - as some of the Albert Hall solos were.
3. I AGREE. No Gibson, no Cream sound. Funny enough, Clapton just played oh, maybe 9 months ago in England and strapped on an SG - said, "i haven't played with this passion in 20 years." duh.
@caesarcerf No doubt. Clapton hasn't been great since 1968. There's a reason for the old joke: "How is Eric Clapton like coffee? They both suck without Cream."
i didnt mean to insinuate antyhing about axl rose, just that some events are understood to be important in quality to the musician or the fan. i thank the youtube post person for this neat little sound video trip. its fairly good. I keep repeat posting because i cant tell if its gone through.
cell phone or distant camcorder recordings just do not compare to a professional video or compact disc. They also do not compare in any way to being on that floor or in that arena. This should be rememberd, by all who want to take, or have taken such type recordings. im not comparing bands in any way, but did you ever see axl rose jump off the stage after the bootlegger? well he would have done same for some of these bootleggers, except they would have went home in a body bag instead. great post
@janedoe1024 The Stones are glad Cream isn't in direct competition with them. The Stones are cool but they wouldn't be able to do much after these guys burned the house down around their ears.
This was what they closed with, fittingly. It was great to see these guys in concert - thisis from my parents' era yet there were people my age - younger than me - who went and were blown away. Amazing show.
Imagine that....60 year old!!!!! how the furk can you young bands keep up?????? Eric....you Canadian DNA mofo.......although you are a Brit you're still god on that fender lol.........but....I still love David ;-)
Jack singing this fantastic classic, which he wrote, just takes my breath away. Clapton's guitar playing, improvised at times, I suppose, does not embellish upon this performance of Sunshine of Your Love
@Yardbirdsfan I think I have seen an interview where the guitarist talk about their Gibsons. Both Bruce and Clap tried to play on em when they first started the rehearsals but they just didnt have the same energi with the SG's as they had in the good ol days
I think they're the only band from that era with all original members still alive !!!

hmm, i'm not sure.
somehow, it doesen't compare.
ok, eric plays a Strat, not the ES355, but this is not the fact.
i like eric, but i miss his young & dynamic fingerstyle art of play.
maybe it's because these fellows gettin' older :-(
but i don't want to blasphemous!
hopfenkaltschale 1 year ago
@Yardbirdsfan I saw a video of clapton doing "have you ever loved a woman" with an ES-335 but its not the same because that not a cream song.

@eslmc I agree for the most part. It still would be very interesting to get Ronnie Wood's take on this tour especially.

Jack was very mobile, EC understated, Ginger pissed off.

I wish Eric Clapton played a Gibson like in the old days because that was the cornerstone in the sound of Cream.
Yardbirdsfan 2 years ago 20
I think it's kind of interesting it being played like this, shows how everyone's changed with the years.

@Yardbirdsfan
As much as I agree with you, it is highly unlikely.
