Bill gates needs to shunt a golden brick for lower costed personal simulators at the DMV, for people that really need to learn how to drive on a damn road..
I tried a f1 simulator like this, first time, and it was a little more violent. Lets just say, when I crashed, I felt it, and if I didn't wear the seatbelt I probably would have hit the TV, LOL!
UPDATE - this simulator is used in Ferrari World. If you don't think that this simulates a real F1 - then you are very mistaken. Here is the video of the one that Ferrari purchased: watch?v=iBjtv9Z8FgI&
these comments by others are made before even READING how the simulator works. please read before u post, or i will disable comments. the sim simulated G FORCES on ur body if u were inside the car. if it didn't feel so real then why are TOP companies buying these?? trust me its as close to driving a real f1 or other car that u will get without buying one. plus if u crash, u won't hafta repair it. this is not for personal use, it is for education and entertainment venues.
Imagine one of your children's walk into your room, while you are busy driving a sim, and get their fingers or hands caught or ripped out by one of those hydrolics?
Do they have insurance? I could see them getting sued for injuries.
Would be better for flight sims. They've over-amplified the pitch feedback considerably; probably just to show it off. However, in a flight sim, that would actually be somewhat realistic.
It's not tilting around just to mimic the pitch of the car. It's orienting the carriage toward gravity to simulate the g-force of acceleration, braking, and turning.
at 190k you buy this move to some tourist hot spot put it in the mall near the food court and charge 15$ for 3 laps youll make ur money back some day.
Oh and this is not for regular consumers to buy, you guys! although super rich people have bought them. these r for attraction venues. i.e. there is a place in frace that has 18 of these connected. these r for theme parks too.
Lots of people have commented that they could by a real car for cheaper. well this is true to an extent. these cars that r on the sim would cost you 200k+ in real life. Plus if u wreck it in the simulator, u won't hafta pay for repairs. plus u can virtually own 10 cars for one price. :)
can you buy a sport car for what it costs though? i doubt it... yes i find it too expensive a hobby but not as expensive as a sports car:S so let them have fun:)
it would feel even more true to life if he was wearing a helmet or 3d goggles cause seeing the room around you moving up and down would ruin it somewhat i bet
This is still "yesterday", just a few new technologies were implemented, but the whole is unchanged. For me future gaming will be when you can touch surroundings and feel hits and so on playing games like Doom 3.
But there r some people who have bought one for their home, and who seriously want to buy one. they'd rather wreck the smulator than their ferrari. plus where else can ya race rally in france, f1 in holland and nascar in america without paying plane tickets, or playing a cheap video game? :)
Well just a regular consumer like u and me would not be buying one. but for ATTRACTION purposes (theme parks, etc.) it would be a wise investment. also for an f1 racing team...they don't hafta worry about wearing out their cars or crashing while trying to practice...use the simulator...that's what this is for.
I'm noy sure if Cheami knows what he is talking about. that's like me talking about how a rocket works... i have no idea so i don't argue with nasa officials. i work with this simulator, trust me its amazingly 'on' as far as physics go.
Thank u rismorismo!! finally some smart people get it. the simulator focuses on the g forces of your body too. what will u feel like taking a turn in a 400 hp car going 85 mph... the physics are correct. i know. :)
Let me rephrase... THE MACHINE,(not the visuals u see on the screen) has spot on physics..why would real race car drivers say 'the physics are correct'?? think they r lying?? no
Cheami90, the physics are most simple equations, check out Newtons law from google or something. Acceleration is produced with 2 stages, first is fast mass movement backwards and after that tilt uses gravity maintain effect of pull. Human sensors are more simple than people knows. Example static gravity is felt mostly via muscles and all forces mostly from chances of it. So the simulator truely makes most realistic effect. Try sometime!
have u been on it cheami? if not, then u sound like all the other people in line waiting to ride it. physics r correct. and real race car drivers say its spot on!!
maybe the HARDWARE might be physically correct to a degree, but the SIMULATOR is nowhere near correct physics. the turns/acceleration/braking/crash are all completely retarded by the looks of it.
i would love to try to ride that thing, as i'm sure it looks fun. but i don't expect to touch REAL racing simulations such as rfactor or forza, where physics in those games are legit.
It's NOT a video game. its a RACING SIMULATOR. and the engine is the correct sound of that particular car. and the PHYSICS are spot on. they physics are made to move how the g-forces would feel on your body, how you would feel in that car. people tend to say the same thing 'physica are off' while they watch other's ride. then when they get in they are quickly corrected. any other 'smarties' out there??? ha ha
The software running inside is a video game, which is then rigged to a physics-emulating machine, thus earning the title "simulator" or "RACING SIMULATOR" as you call it. Fuckwad, do a barrel roll.
im not saying your wrong or right but, to take a game taht is already developed and to "rig" as you say, to a simulator like so, will take longer than to develope your own similator and to program it from scratch. taking the premade game will require you to unwrap the game find all the physics engines in who knows what files they are in.
if forza 3 was integrated in for this machine, grats, you have a good simulator to back up this hardware. but this simulator he is playing on is nowhere near forza 3 or rfactor physics.
i've heard f1 cars, this doesn't sound anything like an f1 car. physics are good enough for f1 drivers? please, the physics in this simulation he is playing are horrible. maybe the machine is correct in the feel of the g-force to some degree, but the actualy physics play regarding the tires, unreal.
I would build a room, with the most insane surround sound that man has ever heard. Then, buy 5 of these, hook them all up together and race with my friends.
