Though barely there anymore in the '70s, it was still a fascinating place to visit. I tricked my French husband into riding the Cyclone in '94, he loved it anyway. The great bar on the boardwalk burned, we were lucky to get there near its end. Great food! I had a NY friend get abducted by a UFO after a picnic on Coney Island. He came to in midstride in the Bronx two days later, clean as a whistle, everything still in his pockets. He had no idea where he was!
Went there so many times when I was a child, teenager and adult. It is great to see how it looked back in 1952. That was when I went there the first time. Thnaks for the video.
I am finally going here tomorow, after a lifetime of waiting. I don't even care what it looks like or what's there. All I know is that it's Coney Island <3
Coney Island is being revivalised nowadays but by major commercial interests. All these romantic entrepreneurs that you see here have been "legally" shoved out and replaced with fast food joints and common theme park rides. We fought and lost the battle here in Brooklyn.....a shame.
Thank you so very much for the fantastic video "Coney Island 1952" Growing up in NYC it brought back so many great memories. I can't begin to tell you. I'm almost 60 now. I still recall the Bungalow colonies Shatskins Knishes, Even Yona Shimmel in days gone by. I am telling all my friends to go & see your Video. You captured a time in history & a NY icon. Warmest regards, Lenny Waller
In 1955 we went there first time. I was 12 years old and rode the parachute jump. You sat on a plank with a seat belt. Scariest ride ever conceived.!

@ziggycat999: +1!!!
The uniqueness of Coney Island is now kaput thanks to the business interests of our billionaire mayor and his cohorts....
