  • IF YOU PACK IN 'BLIPPING ' THE THROTTLE AND CHANGE UP THE GEARS SOONER AT LOWER REVS ON THE ROAD AND USE THE TORQUE OF THAT MOTOR.... YOU SHOULD SEE BETTER MPG'S.. I REALISE YOU MAY BE DRIVING LIKE THAT JUST FOR THIS VID? IF YOUVE GOT THE 210 TI WITH THE INLINE PUMP, YOU CAN USE VEG OIL IN IT, THE ROTARYS DONT LIKE IT THO.....

  • hi there, great combination what did the engine come out of???

  • Did you have to change out the transmission? Make any custom engine mounts?

  • Superb

  • Hi there, Im very trill by this video bcz I was looking into the internet to find info or a video about the type of convertions.... I got a Discovery 2, And I was looking to fit a 4bt but now i want a 6-BT..... Question: Do u think the discovery and defenders share the same engine bay space? Now It's posible to fit the 6bt using the auto transmission i got on mine? I will be greate if u can answer this 2 questions!!! Thanks for your time!!

  • Beast!

  • how much weight this engin?

    it sound fantastic

  • @ThatHoodNiggaBrik. Around 1200 pounds I think

  • i love this sound! - And I think he pulls like a bull!

  • Wow, you put my 2 favorite things together! amazing i want it!

  • where are you from as i am building a 130 with the same type of engine could do with some advice on the transfer box set up to the gearbox cheers martyn

  • Jesus! every ones driving on the wrong side of the road!

  • @razoredge45 Only where you're from mate!

  • this is awesome work!! hope to see some more offroad action soon!!!

  • what trans did you use? and what other work had to be done etc?

  • DO you think you would get a bit more power with some back pressure. Put a straight through on my 300tdi and it was as flat as a witches tit. Sounded awsome though.

  • @300tdi90 less back pressure the better for diesels

  • Sounds like a bloody Scania. Awesome !!

  • Is that a gps speedo I see, I havent bothered to get a longer speedo cable made to reach the trans box so I use a gps

  • now thats a nice landie

  • how much would you charge to fit 1 in my landy really want 1 now

  • how much would you charge to fit a 6bt into my landy really want one now

  • I WANT ONE!! M8 this is one sick landy u have. hats off to ya! be proper sick with twin stacks rollin a bit of coal ! :D does it have a jake aswell??

  • Need more info on convertion

  • I WANT ONE!!!! fantastic landy you have there mate! what MPG's do you get out of it? is the exhaust a straight through or is there a small muffler on it somewhere?

  • @angamoos No muffler, around 20 mpg

  • what trahs are you using in this

  • Thats a decent amount of power :) How much did the engine cost and how long did it take you to fit?

    Cheers.

  • I did a deal with a smallblock chevy for the engine so not sure, it took around a month to fit

  • Sounds great! Whats the power like on this, better than standard?

  • Power is around 160hp, torque is great

  • EXCELLENT! Why dont the LR magazines feature proper interesting ones like this!

  • @V8FORESTJIM Ive put a few in landrovers, magazines arnt interested, they like stickers and cheq plate!

  • Its a shame, 4 LR mags, all mostly featuring fairly standard kit with loads money thrown at them! Yours would be an interesting read, looks a very tidy conversion!

  • iv wanted to do this for so long but i didnt think it would fit. i know what i will build when i sell the series 1 hot rod.

  • Looks and sounds great. I am considering the same conversion (or 4BT if I can find one). I have plenty of questions, is there some way I can contact you?

  • you need a 6in stack atleast, let'er breath

  • damn your landy is awesome i got two one just like that and a 90

  • This is fantastic!

  • I know a modder doesnt like to give out details but how much suspension lift are you running and how tight is the engine to the steering box

  • I'm loving this and strangely want to build my own now! We have a series 2A kicking about I could buy off my dad, just a case of finding such an engine. The bit I dont get, is what is a spicer gearbox? whats it out of? any fitment issues or a case of a few mounts and job done? what did you get the engine out of?

  • You can get the engine/box out of a DAF 45/Roadrunner, quite a bit of work

  • ah right now I get it, it is out of a small truck! I'm not really that affraid of work, landrovers are big and agricultural unlike with you try to do engine conversions in cars, but that is still a prett serious engine! Impressive stuff :o)

  • how did you mate that with the transfertbox? grt

    (nice job btw ;) )

  • any chance of pictures of inside around bulkhead, diff clearance etc, have you towed with it yet whats it like if you have

  • Towed 3 Tonnes of scrap on a 16' Ifor trailer recently, it loved it

  • what is its cruising speed

  • Cruises happily at 70 mph

  • that sounds like our leyland 45 130, is that the same engine?

  • Yes it is (cummins 6bt)

  • Just love it!!!!!!

    Cummins ruless!!

  • Haven't I seen that bit of road on one of your other productions, mr De-mille?

This vehicle is the latest in a long and noble line of radical vehicles going back 20 years!

  • Nice done, which gearbox and transferbox did you use?

  • Thank you, Spicer T5X gearbox (roadrunner), LT230 transfer box (direct gears, range rover 3 speed auto)

  • should use a 4 planet torquflite from america, the range rover one has 1 less planet gear so is weaker, u can get torqueflites that r bullet proof.

How did u reagear it for the low revving engine?

bigger bore exhaust would work well, looks a little restrictive for a 5.9.
