Love her upbeat attitude and she's sharp. I was recently diagnosed with COPD w/asthma and am amazed at all the information and good stuff like this sure helps!
@LOP512 - You're welcome! I forgot to mention that I'm on O2 24/7 and now when I get stared at when I go out (Oy Vey!), I'll just think about Lois (teaching a class and using O2 and not embarassed by it).
I was diagnosed in 2001 with COPD, still hanging in there! Nice video. I'm on oxygen now and sometimes do feel embarrassed. Trying to get past it. I'm 63.
I think I want to be you when I grow up!!! I am 54, also with COPD. I am managing my condition pretty well and am on the list for a lung transplant.... but am holding out for the "Baywatch" model... maybe the outside comes with the inside!
Thank you for your encouragement. What role model you are. Now all we have to do is change the medicare & medicaid laws about forcing us to start having heart, kidney or brain damage before paying for supplemental o2
That it is not a luxury for the rich only, but a necessity for all of us with lung diseases.
Thank you very much for sharing this. It is helpful to me in accepting a spinal disorder I've been dealing with for the past few years, thinking I've become "invisible" just because I walk slow and limp. I don't feel like an old person, but have to learn that if others see me that way, well, then it's their loss not mine.
I loved the movie - I also use oxygen and go to pulmonary rehab 2X per week and I love it. It is making me feel better and I actually am after only a month at it. I enjoy the participants there with me (most are women) and I like being an older person (on the fringes at a mere 65). COPD is nasty but you CAN make the most of it. Would love to know how LOP512 got to teach that class. I would love to try it out here in Los Angeles.
