My school had a Christmas performance tonight, and this one of the songs that the main singers sang, and they sang it beautifully.

my choir director spoke with the composer of this piece, and he said that people tend to speed up African-American tunes too much, like this video.

You have to really slow it down and savor the culture and meaning of the song, instead of rushing.

and plus the mix is really bad.

there's about 5 voices in every section that sticks out.

it was good until first soloist, it was sharp...but the dynamics and harmony was pretty much perfect! When we sang this at my school, we got a I. or superior! I'm still in choir, it rocks! I have been for four years. Its so fun and i luv to sing! Good job and keep singin!

I really, really wanted to do this school when I was in high school! I don't recall that "using slang" term and I was in the Advanced/Chamber group at my school. So, you'd think that teacher would know what she was doing. I like it...clear and I love the balance. That's very important! EXCELLENT!!!
