  • Barry didn't know what Foster

  • Gee. a comedian that's funny without being vulgar. These were hilarious back in the day too.

  • Anyone know what he said at 1:33 ?

  • @jcq1961 I think he said pish posh

  • he actually never drank...me was mimicking his drunk uncle"s...as a child

  • @bigd69er He actually did drink. He was an alcoholic and quit drinking in 1964.

  • The best of his time "anytime"

  • "its a dirty job that's somebody's gotta do"

    poor owl!

  • Absolute genius

  • As this boring bald buffon just told you! (LMAO)

  • Cool!

  • we miss you dean

  • @crow672008 I miss Dean. He was the best straight man in comedy. Period

  • foster makes my sides hurt--with laughter. looking at the audience--there is no way that small group makes that much noice--do you think its studio beefed up??

  • Orson Welles, Jimmy Stewart, Foster Brooks... all those men.. What a fortune is sitting there!

  • "In concluu...in concluhuu...as I leave you tonight..."

  • Watching this is equivelent to running on a treadmill in amount of gut vibrations per second you endure.

  • "in conc.. in concl... as i leave youuu... "quality!

  • These guys were the last of the true entertainers. The industry today is vapid and talentless.

  • no comedian alive today can hold a candle to these truly great legends!

  • was that mid 1970's,how funny was the Dean Martin roast?

  • I was just a little kid when these aired. Foster Brooks cracked me up every time.

  • i live in ohio 2 i am only a 40 min drive from steubenville ..everytime i go there i pass a sign that says welcome to steubenville the home of Dean Martin ..

  • @TheSteelersrock1010

    Wow. Thanks so much.

Those guys and ladies could rock the world without being offputting. It was all about love for the craft, or starvation. Notice when most of them were born. I wouldn'ta sent my child to "college" in those days. Between 1895-1945 most of our ancestors died.

Most of these roast characters worked from childhood without degrees and showed what a true soul could do. God also knows how to tap dance, just in case.

    :)

  • Brooks had that act absolutely mastered!! You just crack up looking at him!!

  • is that all he does? is drunk jokes?

  • @jess401 that was his shtick...kept him working for 30 years

  • I haven't laughed this hard in a while. Today's comics don't come near.

  • .....sitting by the campfire, roasting our weinies and warming our buns....LOL..

  • Foster Brooks = genius

  • I love these. Foster Brooks cracks me up!

  • "My bossum swells with pride........something Ruth Buzzi might even envy" LMAO!

  • ROTFL!!!! <---dyingggg!!!@@@ 3:37 "In Con-cluuu In Con-cluuu... As I leave Youuuuu..."!!! HaaaHaaa!

The Old Skool Comedians Are the BEST!!!

  • Folks, the one and only Foster Brooks.... man that guy was funny! Watch all the other celebrities throughout these different roast watching Foster... They laugh the hardest of all.

  • Y'all HAVE TO hear Foster Brooks sing the twelve days of Xmas! You can find it on YouTube....you need Kleenex cuz' it'll have you laughing so hard you cry!!

  • @pinkandpurty1 Just seen it!!! OMG! HaaaHaaaHaaa!!!! Part of a bird in a pearrr tttrrr-eeeeeee!"

Foster Brooks sings The Twelve Days of Christmas!!! <---Promote it! :D

  • I use to watch these roast when I was a kid. Foster Brooks was one of my favorite comedians. His drunk act busted me up. Thanks for getting it.

  • A TRUE COMEDIC GENIUS!!

  • "Boring, bald Baffoon" LOL.

  • That's the Duke. Damn!

  • Class Act Foster- no one has copied your act- it stands tall after these years

  • Who voted against this video? Must be a communist

  • 1:30 sensored! rarely see that; foster was always good

  • The funny thing is that you know he is not actually drunk

  • @lumberjak5010

Take a look at the Lulu McConnell video I put up, for some more incredible drunk acting.

  • @lumberjak5010 I forgot how amazingly funny Foster Brooks was, I was crying watching this!

  • @lumberjak5010 You are correct, he never touched a drop his whole life

  • @lumberjak5010 LMFAO could of fooled me man!!.

when i watched this I REALY THOUGHT HE WAS COMPLETELY TANKED!! XD

  • @lumberjak5010 he actually used to be a drunk at one point in his life

  • gosh i love this what a showman

  • Think of Jim Carey speaking out of his rectum. There are dolts who actually believe he' s funny in comparison to Brooks.

  • not one f word needed to be funny. Thats comic genius.

  • There will never be another like him. For that matter there will never be comedy like this ever again. Foster Brooks is a legend, we all miss you sir

  • You got a problem calling him names ? Yep - you got a real problem besides not being able to appreciate decent humour. If the late great Orsen Welles thinks he's funny then he's funny.

  • Foster was a comic genius.

    He was great.

    I miss him.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • @Methistime Very well said!

  • dude!! is that john wayne at 3.33??

  • @Vincent0Vegas Yep, thats john wayne

  • i'm just learning who foster brooks is through youtube clips -- he's before my time. It's rare now to have anyone noteworthy who only plays one shtick. I'd say the closest thing to this is Stephen Colbert.

  • "To this day that owl is looking for you, Dean ..."

    I love it!!!

  • This Man Was The Best!!!! His Act Was Clean, I Miss The Days Of Clean Comedy!!!

  • This is nowhere near as funny as Foster's roast of Don Rickles :(

  • .....as I leave youuuu

  • "...As this (showing to Don rickles) boring baboon just told youuuuu...."

    hahahahaha

  • Ow. My head hurts from laughing!

  • When youre a kid and you get a chance to stay up just a little bit later, you catch a glimpse at this. Usually shows like this air either on Friday or Saturday. This particular roast was etched in my mind. I couldnt grasp the humor of the other comedians, but Foster Brooks was humor that grabbed you, held on and wouldnt let go. His belching and struggling to get those drunken words out was funny. Now that Im in my 40s, Im glad that You Tube could keep this brand of entertainment going.

  • @Steadyrock100 - Well said!

  • @Steadyrock100 I will have to agree you-tube is a good thing if used right,so much garbage. but it's like going back through a time portal and remember things of my past that were fun, watching ole Foster was great.

  • what show is this

  • @randomguy209 The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts

  • funny without being dirty. so funny.

  • FOSTER BROOKS WAS THE MAN RIGHT BEHIND DON RICKLES

  • I cannot decide of which roast of Forest's is the funniest.:-))

  • @JRRDPR ..and i can't decide how you found this video if you though this name was "Forest".

    Fuckwit.

  • So sad we have lost this type of comedy forever ... the same happened with the greats of British comedy ... we have lost something very precious!

  • Yeah but he never roasts George Carlin.

  • absolute GOLD!!!

  • Unfortunatly, you seem to be a majority of one.

  • i couldn't stop wiping the tears away to keep from laughing so hard LOL

  • Emergency vasectomy on a great horny owl LOL Priceless. Foster Brooks was great. There isn't any comedians nowadays that is as funny. they all have to rely on cussing and swearing to be funny.

  • Barry Goldwater was at the table!

And he didn't look like he appreciated the "off color" jokes....

  • Watch at 2:35, a rare moment when Foster has to hold back a laugh! First class talent!!

  • My bosom swells with pride, something Ruth Buzzi might even envy. LOLOL

  • Dean was so handsome, he looked like a very latin lover, cause he looks latin.

    Where was he from?

  • @linda1067 Hahaha! Italy.....at least his parents were. He didn't speak English til he was like 4 or 5, so funny you should ask :D

  • 3:34 John Wayne!?

  • Don Rickles always cracks up when Foster Brooks does his act.

  • lmfao foster well done timeless rip

  • they just don't comedians like Brooks any more now these days its all about random loud noices, gross out jokes, random stuff and just plain offensive stuff.

  • Thanks so much for posting these - there is nothing like laughter to heal the soul and these guys were the greatest entertainers ever. You are so kind.

  • Great stuff thanks for posting!

  • This aired February 27, 1976.

  • Where was John Wayne? He isn't on the dais but you see him in closeups.

  • "I was Dean's scoutmaster in, in, Ohio. In Stupidville." Nice Foster. LOL.

I come from Steubenville and have heard that joke sooo many times. I love that even Foster Brooks pulled that on him!!!

  • I'm from Cincinati

  • i live only like a 45 min drive from Steubenville if you really are from Steubenville you should be able to guess where i am from

  • @TheSteelersrock1010 - are you serious, there are so many towns within 45 minutes of Steubenville. And driving time is so relative there, it depends on whether you like to challenge Sheriff Abdala and his crew on the Jefferson Co. highways. Do you want me to go through all of the possiblities? It could be Bergholz, Oh; Pittsburgh, Pa (possible since you are a Steelers fan, but not necessarily); Wheeling, Wv; Lisbon, Oh; or one of another dozen towns in a 25-35 mile radius. Now what?

  • He makes me have to run to the bathroom!

  • Foster Brooks and other comedians from his era were deserving of performing on television. Their hard work that was crafted over time resulted in writing and delivering quality, creative, funny bits. Their professional performance resulted in quality entertainment for the viewer. Today there is no standard for how to treat the viewer and we are subjected to performers who are ALWAYS young, with scripted, dull, filth to deliver like showroom dummies. BRING QUALITY BACK!

  • @MEthistime Unfortunately I'm afraid it's too last to bring this kind of quality in comedy back. Thank god that we have these to watch!

  • @MEthistime I have to agree with you. Being born in 1977 myself, I have to say that much of the creativity seems to be gone, and I can't think of many performers who get people to laugh from just pure material. In a world where everything is supposed to PC, you wouldn't know it by the BS that you get on TV!

  • everybody loves a drunk......lol.....

  • Did you notice that it was dirty as hell without the first curse word or sexual comment. That was and is talent. tOO BAD IT DOESN' T EXSIST ANYMORE. The only one that comes close today is Dennis Miller.

  • @starr522 Are you kidding? Dennis Miller is about as funny as the Zapruder film.

  • That why it' s called an opinion my friend.

  • @starr522 i agree with you. but ive seen lots of funny folks on Comedy Central specials. for some reason there not promoted. its like TV producers are scared of "real talent" and just want the cheap laughs. i could watch these guys for hours.

  • That is because there was a time when comedy was an art form. Not, lets see how raunchy I can do this to get a laugh.

  • @starr522 but they could be way more racist and it was acceptable... one clip don rickles is giving sammi davis jr so much shit for being black.

  • @starr522 I agree. Dennis Miller is way under-appreciated. I love the obscure literary references, especially.

  • @starr522 i love these ones! i hate this Lisa Lampanelli! she is a foul mouthed SLUT and she needs to realize that u can be funny and BRUTAL without cussing and swearing every other word! GAHHH!

  • this was great back then and now even more so! I miss all of them. This humor is priceless!

  • 2:12 orsons look pricelessss!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing this!!!

  • Love him!:-))

  • roasting our weinies and of course our buns. hilarious 5/5 and faves friend request and subed
