i dont think the description of the video does justice to what actually occured. i think te watershed event for the war against the people of guatemala started with the US-backed coup of 1954....not to mention the continuing US support right up to the 80s...the description gives the impression that this all started because some coffee farmers took up arms

I am a volunteer/chaperone with Nova High School in Seattle. We have been travelling to Guatemala every year to learn Spanish, and to visit former guerillas and repatriated refugees in a community called Nuevo Amanceer. We would like to beg, borrow or buy a DVD of "Voice of a Mountain" to screen for a fundraiser as well as to show our students.We have been also collecting money to donate for schools in Nuevo Amancer and Nuevo San Jose.
