  • how do you define the term "Make right base"? Thanks

  • I stayed in Dumaguete for a month for my second year high school summer. I had to do science research internship at the Silliman Marine Lab along the coastline. It was amazing seeing all the planes land on a protruding runway on the beach! Thanks for the video. I suddenly have a need to go back to Dumaguete.

  • dumaguete is a place to unwind, study, fun n for adventure..the place is safe that the people there treat you like your been friends before.experience hospitality and njoy.

  • Very nice. Have you made one when landing over the national road? Or better yet taking off over the NR. Salamat !

  • landing on rwy 27 is easier than 09, however if you read the "semboy" on the billboard across the street then its time to press the brake pedals harder but if you can read the "hot bread" just below the "semboy" word and still doing 80 knots then you're f#@ked up!!!!!!!

  • @mojo737300 I like your comment....i grew in dumaguete...it is indeed a short runway. i remember the time when they would still allow people and animals to walk the runway, i would bring my motorcycle and just run it up and down the runway(am aging myself huh, that was a long time ago :-):-) )

  • I have made that landing quite a few times, also coming from the other side is interesting. If there was an overshoot there would be carnage as the road at the end of the runway has the main highway there and so many houses there now its built up and very busy at rush hour times, also there is a Pertol station fairly close also...so? you can imagine.

  • Do you work for Cebu Pacific?

  • 1.870 km runway. for the airbus 319 it needs for at least 1 km for the pilot to slow the airplane during bad weather condition. but it is minus 150-200 meters from the tip of the runway to the touchdown point. so the 1.870 km would become 1.670 km. so the aircraft has a allowance of 670 meters. if this allowance is not enough to slow the plane then it will go straight to the house that lined through the runway

  • 1km to slow down with or without thrust reverser?

the runway has to be long enough for the plane to roll out with spoilers and wheelbrakes only

strange, i never landed in dumaguete without deploying the TR

  • well on that situation thrust reverser is really necessary

  • yes it is short, aprox. 1,8km

but i'm flying to dumaguete every year and its safe, trust me

  • this runway is short compared to Bacolod or iloilo

  • do you think that the runway of dumaguete is safe? i mean, ilang beses na ko uwi balik and its ok naman. what i mean is yung runway mismo. like may mga cracks unte sa runway. what do you think people? does the mayor or congressman do something about the runway? i mean its for the safety of the people na rin. like sa fam ng congressman and the congressman whos flying from dumaguete to manila?

  • safe namn ung runway ng dumaguete.. hndi makakalapag ang airbus 320/319 at boeing 737-200 jn kng hndi safe ang place..

  • i used to jog along this strip together with the cows and goats ....dgte has one of the shortest runway.......

  • miss the views when landing and seeing the people or the family in the fence when going down from the plane. you feel the excitement of seeing them after a long time. like you have the big smile on your face when the plane is landing and going down from the stairs from inside the plane. you feel the happiness inside you that your gonna see your familes and friends again after a very very long time. thank you for posting this video. it did made me happy watching the view. thank you PILOTOKOTO!

  • thanks! finally i could see the left side of that runway from the air. that's silliman beach. where we used to while away our vacant time in the late 70's. a lot has changed--- extended rundway jutting out of the beach. just came back from dgte a few hrs ago, to visit my son
