@keesmoke I'm 14 years old and I completely agree with this. Being in high school, I see kids being influenced by the crappy music of my generation every day. If everyone listened to Pat, th eworld would be a much better place, and maybe most kids my age wouldn't be such (excuse my language here) assholes.
What if real music such as this, was played on the airwaves. I truly believe that we would have a more sensible & intelligent country. The "stuff" they call music thats actually played over & over is quite ridiculous & sick.
I CAN SEE MYSELF RIDING REAL SMOOTH TO THIS ONE................AND NOBODY ELSE ON THE ROAD BUT ME' AND PAT METHENY GROUP PLAYING THIS ALONG SIDE OF ME' YEAH IT'S A RED SKY.............I LOVE THIS SONG ONE OF THEIR BEST.
@jazzsax1965 Yes you are soooo right! Between this song and "To the end of the world" OMG Talk about made in heaven and brought down to us humans as a perfect gift from our Creator! Music is such a blessing to be able to feel and appreciate! Peace to you!
@jazzsax1965 AGAIN you have expressed my exact sentiments! Having been exposed to R&B as a young girl, then developing a PROFOUND LOVE for anything fusion jazz, and becoming a jazz radio personality, you can imagine the vast collection of music I own and you best believe PMG is @ the top of the list! Hey keep in touch..I love to connect with my fellow lovers of muzak! :0)
@brownsugah1003: Thank you again! I was exposed to R&B a lot in my youth as well by my mom which is why I love groups like EW&F, Mandrill, Buddy Miles, etc. And my love for Jazz music started while listening to the Jazz Band at my junior high in 8th grade. I have a profound love for all kinds of music (ESPECIALLY JAZZ) as is evidenced here in my favorites on you tube & I have a vast collection of all types of music as well (started in 1982) with PM being a large part of it!
Not my favorite album of PMG (and Last train home isn't recorded on this one but on Still life talking) but this is a nice theme, in 3/4. and Paul Wertico grooves.
I've heard "Last Train Home" played on the Weather Channel, so it makes sense that you made that connection. Perhaps you also heard his music on there without knowing it. I've heard his music at the store and a few times at Village Inn. That always make me smile and I just *have* to sing along, no matter how bizarre it seems to other customers...lol. I basically have this album memorized front-to-back. It's on of my favorite CDs, ever, regardless of genre or artist. Pure music at its best!
Pat Metheny most usually leaves me speechless...Cooltropic your choices never fail to take me to the good places in my mind and heart..and you are so appreciated...this one is priceless!! Thanks a Bunch!!
Very nice cut! I think the Yellowjackets may have been influenced a little by this guy.

This is that 'find a quiet place to sit back and reflect" music as most of Pat Metheny's music is. Just great to listen to.

Yes, Wordless vocals is a primary feature of this group, I was saying that they do this as well as anyone, it's pretty amazing to be honest.
