  • he changes the notes with his feet you idiot.... thats how the timpani works...

  • This person has a good set of ears and more than likely has perfect hearing. He has a pedel at each of the drums bottom to change the pitches of each. That's my tinking of how it's done.I've not been around music for more than thirty years.I just saw a lady playing a set of seven drums in a full conceto for timpani fifteen mins ago and I saw her using her pedals a lot for changing the pitches when she had to play a lot of notes in that concerto. Thanks, loving "YOUTUBE" more each day I use,

    Amazing crisp pedaling...great arrangement.

The timpani really capture the sonority of an organ.

  • LOL. That was the best comment yet!

Incredibly entertaining, but capturing the sonority of an organ? ;)

  • Sonorous; Having or producing a full, deep, or rich sound.

I'm not saying that timpani are the same as organs, simply that timpani have a nice dark, powerful tonality that suits this piece better than, say, a flute.

  • It most certainly sounds better with timp than a flute ;)

  • Fantastic! You can hear every note. Great playing and arranging!

  • Superb! The arrangement, the playing, everything. How kind of you to provide this for us!

  • Wow, that's amazing. I especially like the parts where the timpani plays the fugue and then the bass lines. I bet that took a good long while to work out!
