If I hit a car going 100km/h I hit it with a force of 4167kgm/s. If a car hits another car at 100km/h it hits with a force of 27,778kgm/s. That's a force 6X greater than a motorcycle. That amount of force from a motorcycle if directed into the driver’s door will possibly break the drivers left arm or leg. A car hitting the same will kill a person and their passengers. A speeding motorcycle is not dangerous, and no they do not deserve to hurt themselves for 'endangering' others.
@soty022092 You know what you're probably right. But Its better to wear gear/armor head to toe at all times just in case. I went down doing about 40 without gear didnt break any bones or anything but had horrible road rash. ppl dont realize how dangerous riding a crotch rocket or any motorcycle is. Human beings just cant handle a crash at those speeds. That pavement is the devil, it will take the skin right off like butter. But theres nothing like it, closest to flying you can get. Good Luck
@soty022092 wrong... wearing protective correct gear limits the effects of the most common injuries people get from high speed crashes. on average wearing good gear means 1/3 the time spent in hospital from a non-fatal crash.
Not anymore. In Australia its now known as the 650r, but alot of people still recognise it as a er-6f. Either way, nice bike. I've had mine at just over 200km/h, but doesn't seem to look/sound/go like mordeth's... Still, once you get to 200k's, it gets kinda boring, I prefer having lots of high speed corners to tear through, lots of fun :)
Hi, I had thought before I saw this video, that you have the zx6r ninja. When I was buying my bike, I was deciding among the er-6f, Honda CBF 600S and Bandit 650s. Bandit won, but still, the er6 is a very nice bike. Inspiring videos btw. I like to watch them, especially now, in the winter, when the roads are covered with snow and gravel.
@spencercjohnson My daily work commute is far more dangerous than anything in this video. I'm sure Mordeth would say the same about his normal drives through the city.
I wish people would get over thinking speed by its self is dangerous. It's the difference in speed that is... On a nearly empty road like in this video, there is less risk than doing 40 on a busy road.
@TooAbsurd You're right, and I agree. Don't ignore that you're relying 100% on the bike to perform; if a tire blows, either from doing burnouts or because one little screw is in the road, you're a deadman. Not so at 25mph going through rush hour traffic. Bottom line, you really can't be ignoring your bike's needs and the road you are going to race on. Every morning, the nurburgring is scanned for loose items on the track before they race.
Some things become more dangerous as speed increases; a tire blowing, debris on the road, potholes and road imperfections. Properly maintaining your bike, knowing the roads and scanning ahead can help reduce those risks, but never fully remove them.
Don't get so freaked out when he ignores the lines. He's in an Asian country where lane splitting is legal. In some places the cops don't bother giving chase to speeders. It's generally safer that way.
So does a 3500lb car. Cars kill many more people than motorcycles and they don't even have to be speeding. Maybe you should give up driving if you feel so strongly about endangering others.
06-08 I make a under tail section that replaces the one DOT wants you to have it .gets rid of the light tree on the back and replaces it with a smooth look nothing hanging down built in tag brackett I can shoot youpix if you want to see it its very nice expresscraftlisa@yahoo.com or call 321-514-2780
I ride a 650R as well and although that's completely irrelevant to the comment I'm about to leave I just thought I would share it with you; I love your responses to some of the people with rude comments ^^
@William1990hill Go straight to the 650r if you can and you won't regret it a single moment. A few months ago I taught my gf to ride on a 2007 650r. it's a very forgiving bike, very well balanced both in terms or engine and weight, low to the ground and you can even lower it another inch. And it's not like you will accidentally roll the throttle and smash into a tree - being on a 250 won't be any less dangerous plus you will soon outgrow the 250 and wish for some extra juice. ride safe!
@motorcyclelover27 Any one of those is fine for starters. The only difference is the 250 has huge (-+70) MPG but rather lacking power, while the 650 has around 45 MPG but a decent power. Anything more is just suicidal unless you're pro.
Now if you've never ridden a bike, go for the 250. I've ridden since I am 12 (learned on a crappy 95cc three-wheeler), and I am 20 now, so I will buy the 650.
@motorcyclelover27 I started on a Ninja 250 and I don't regret it one bit. Worry about getting bored on it WHEN YOU DO. Its a blast to ride fast. And its so light and easy to move around. If you're above 6'3 then consider a Ninja 500.
Wow I been watching your videos for months now. This is the first video I can say I was scared for you. Not because of your speed I know you can handle that, it,s when you used the shoulder to pass it could have been debris down there that's all lol. I sound like a puss lmao
just because it says 220 on ur speedo don't mean it goes 220. a cbr125r has a 200 km/h speedo and it struggles to anything passed 130. also this is a 650 class bike. its 600cc motorcycles that reach 250-280km/h top speed stock.
and really, common now, ur comparing an accord that does 17 in the quarter to a bike that does mid 12's? i garuntee ur accord is wheezing to get to 200 passed 170. also specify whether u have a 4 cyl or the 6. the 6 will do 220, well passed it? not a chance
lol, i love your vids, and i also like your borderlands commentary. the amazing thing is that borderlands lags on my 360 online with all perfect connections cuz the graphics are so high, but only when you fire a machine rocket launcher with 4x elemental on it. and the best SMG in the game has 1089 x2 damage with 33.3 fire rate, ya crazy right?
im stuck between a gixxer 600 and the ninja 650r. the ninja is really comfortable but it has that two cyl. sound. and the gsxr isnt as comfortable but it sounds awesome, and its got that supersport performance. also, i was wondering, im about 6'3" 220lbs, would you think the ninja sits to low for me? i dont want to look like a gorilla on a pocketbike. thnks
ive got the 650r and admit, it is very comfy compared to the gsxr. i am only 5'9" but i dont think it would be too short for ya. my ONLY gripe- the handlebars are up higher and yes, its not as fast as a 4cyl. But the handlebars are an easy fix thru the aftermarket (which may make it more uncomfortable) and the speed... well its faster than a lot of cruisers and passing or popping a wheelie is second nature to the bike. In my opinion its a lot to give up for a higher price and some more speed
man thanks. u really put it into perspective for me. the ni.njas are great bikes from everything ive heard. one other thing. the fuel tank on the 650r is really narrow compared to the gsxr. and thats one thing id have to live with. but o well. you are right, the price difference and the more comfort make the 650r an awesome choice. thanks
I've got a er-6f (it's called this here in europe to differentiate it from the naked version er-6n), and yeah, the engine does sound a bit like a blender when idling and going slow, but crank it to 5-6k and it starts screaming.
Dont overlook the SV650, its actually faster than the Ninja 650 and has a higher top speed too. Price is great and its a very good looking bike. It can be comfortable too if you replace the stock seat. Nothing wrong with a ninja though, im going to buy the new 250R for a second bike. It looks cool and anyone can ride it.
no...if you get the 2008 yes...but the gladius is slower in a Quarter mile than a 2009 ninja and looks really gay...now...if i could find a 2008 sv you know id jump for it but...
They still sell the SV650S, happy i bought the naked sv when i did. Your dead on about the gladius.. They mellowed out the roughness of the v twin and put a feather boa on it. Being a big suzuki fan, im quite embarrassed.
The thing that kills me about it is...Suzuki ADDED Hp and torque to the Gladius and it still is slower..Not to mention it looks like a Transformer reject on crack(B-king is fly tho)...Ninja 650 got a redesign with better headlights...more upright seat and a really good windscreen (By the looks of it anyway) and its the same price as the Gladius(Haggle a bit)...
the sv has a bit more torque and it comes a lot lower than the 650r. power to weight are almost the same, the thing that differentiates them is personal opinion. i personally would have the 650r (i've ridden the sv i like it too) cause its much different. u almost never hear parallel twins around and the offset rear shock is a nice cosmetic feature which allows the exhaust to be in the center. its very unique. plus i love the sound i've got a 250, also a I-2 with pods and full exhaust, jetted!
thats so true, i was riding with one of my members and he was riding next to me in his modded like to the max ninja 650 and i wasa on my stock 650 and he gunned it, when i started chasing him i look at my dash and im going a little over 132 mph and i couldent even get within 50 feet of him!
whats up with everyone getting angry you saying you have never drove fast and if you say you havent then ur a liar and you didnt have too watch it either really use need to get a life P.S liked the vid ;)
If you ever pass me in the emergency lane like that... Just accept the fact that you're going in the wall. I drive an old shitty car, and I don't give a damn about it or you. Asshole.
Think for a second. Someone on a bike flying by you. How does that affect you? Does the bike endanger you? No. Does the bike steal your place in line? No. It has no effect on you or your day.....at all. So the only reason it would bother you is because you hate your lame ass car and your lame ass life and when you see someone else having fun you get angry.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
If you don't understand the potential effects of flying past someone at 100+mph on the highway... Maybe you should go back to riding school. Go have fun somwhere so you're not endangering the lives and safety of you and everyone around you. That's all I ask... You're the reason why motorists hate us bikers, douchebag.
k go fly a kite or something, don't think anyone cares, it's Mordeth's video he can do what he wants, you go make a video of you riding the speed limit and talking then compare viewers!
calm urself, he's just blasting up the highway for a short 30 secs. to see its top speed. at least he's not doing it in city streets. bad bikers aren't speeders, everyone speeds once in a while. bad bikers are idiots on the road with no gear doing wheelies. and bikers using the dashed line as a lane are also stupid. if u own something like this whats the point if ur not going to use it?
ex .grandma, why do u have an 8 cyls in ur cadillac if u don't use them?
Omg cant you test on an damn airport or something? i was like "OMG DONT CRASH AAAHH MORE TO THE LEFT" when i watched the video xD, Hey nice bike btw =p
If its going to be your first then go with a smaller bike to get used to it then move to a bigger bike. I started with a 250 sold it three months later for a 650.
this site wont allow me to post link but if you want to design a paint job for an ER-6n click link on my main box, vote for mine then make your own, UK residents only can enter their design though.
I know it's a different kettle of fish, but I once got my XJS up to that speed. It freaks you out the first time you do it because everything moves up on you so quick. Not to mention the force pushing you back, I can only assume it is much greater on a bike.
If I hit a car going 100km/h I hit it with a force of 4167kgm/s. If a car hits another car at 100km/h it hits with a force of 27,778kgm/s. That's a force 6X greater than a motorcycle. no...if you get the 2008 yes...but the gladius is slower in a Quarter mile than a 2009 ninja and looks really gay...now...if i could find a 2008 sv you know id jump for it but...
MikeW259 2 years ago
They still sell the SV650S, happy i bought the naked sv when i did. Your dead on about the gladius.. They mellowed out the roughness of the v twin and put a feather boa on it. Being a big suzuki fan, im quite embarrassed.
SVFURYMAN 2 years ago
The thing that kills me about it is...Suzuki ADDED Hp and torque to the Gladius and it still is slower..Not to mention it looks like a Transformer reject on crack(B-king is fly tho)...Ninja 650 got a redesign with better headlights...more upright seat and a really good windscreen (By the looks of it anyway) and its the same price as the Gladius(Haggle a bit)...
MikeW259 2 years ago
the sv has a bit more torque and it comes a lot lower than the 650r. power to weight are almost the same, the thing that differentiates them is personal opinion. i personally would have the 650r (i've ridden the sv i like it too) cause its much different. u almost never hear parallel twins around and the offset rear shock is a nice cosmetic feature which allows the exhaust to be in the center. its very unique. plus i love the sound i've got a 250, also a I-2 with pods and full exhaust, jetted!
carsnwomen91 2 years ago
In stock form, yes. Mod the living daylights out of them and see the Ninja eat the SV... track records now prove that this is right.
TurboNosHayabusa1 2 years ago
thats so true, i was riding with one of my members and he was riding next to me in his modded like to the max ninja 650 and i wasa on my stock 650 and he gunned it, when i started chasing him i look at my dash and im going a little over 132 mph and i couldent even get within 50 feet of him!

@SouthFloridaBiker Out 650s has so much potential in the engine department. It's up to the tuner to dig out this hidden power... :)

DG121480 2 years ago
k go fly a kite or something, don't think anyone cares, it's Mordeth's video he can do what he wants, you go make a video of you riding the speed limit and talking then compare viewers!

@DG121480, I totaly agree with you. people like this guy are what gives us bikers bad reputations, keep this sort of riding for the track :)
nzdrift777 2 years ago
@nzdrift777
calm urself, he's just blasting up the highway for a short 30 secs. to see its top speed. at least he's not doing it in city streets. bad bikers aren't speeders, everyone speeds once in a while. bad bikers are idiots on the road with no gear doing wheelies. and bikers using the dashed line as a lane are also stupid. if u own something like this whats the point if ur not going to use it?
ex .grandma, why do u have an 8 cyls in ur cadillac if u don't use them?

Smaller is better. Check out my forum m13online. com
13mordeth 2 years ago
If its going to be your first then go with a smaller bike to get used to it then move to a bigger bike. I started with a 250 sold it three months later for a 650.

I know it's a different kettle of fish, but I once got my XJS up to that speed. It freaks you out the first time you do it because everything moves up on you so quick. Not to mention the force pushing you back, I can only assume it is much greater on a bike.
LiquidZ2k 2 years ago
isn't it easy to loose control when you're going that fast.... and slide/crash?
annbanann 2 years ago
No, not at all. The faster you go.....the more stable a bike is. There's nothing dangerous about going fast in a straight line on a good road.
13mordeth 2 years ago
"There's nothing dangerous about going fast" now there is a statement!
digger34 2 years ago
thats only half the statement

Maybe amend to "It's not as dangerous as you think" ? :)

Tell that to the dude who fell off his bike at 200 mph while atempting a world speed record.... or anyone else who has had a violent wobble.
Speed is dangerous with anything....
