Yes, I add tahini - you may already know it's the butter of the sesame seed. It's a good fat that I need so I always put it in. No more than a tablespoon (it's bitter but really good for you).
Kale can be very bitter so ensure you put one and a half or two apples in the blender with probably 2 to 3 leaves of kale and some spinach. If you just do the spinach and apple you can easily put more spinach than apple, add water of course. But you have to figure out what works best for your palette. Hope this helps, peace!!
It is important that you not only make fruit smoothies but green smoothies as well. I just found out that agave nectar is not as good for us I some first thought. I recommend putting two to three dates in the smoothie instead. Medjol dates are the best in my opinion. As for a green smoothie don't put the sweetner in just use apples with the greens or bananas with the greens. You will have to have a balance of less bitter in the beginning. That means one or two leafs of kale.
That really depends upon the person but I would recommend 2 smoothies a day one in the morning and one in the evenings. To help you lose weight and gain energy you shouldn't eat after 6pm. However, it is okay in my opinion to drink your meals after 6pm. If you do make a smoothie do not consume as much after 6pm as you would in the morning. To lose weight and gain energy invest in a juicer and make a commitment to juicing 2 to 3 times a day. Fresh fruits and veggies (organic recommended).
That's great I hope you got a great deal on it. I just learned that agave nectar may not be as good as the raw community thought. So my new rule of thumb is to purchase much much less processed as possible and what I mean by that is if I need to sweeten any of my dishes or smoothies I'm using dates. Dates are the natural original sweetner. Hope this information will be helpful to you.
Go head girl! Is that a Vita mix? I sure wish I could afford one right now but as it stands I am making my smoothies with a Magic Bullet. I love 'em with mango (get huge frozen bags of fruit from Sam's Club for around $11).
