Hey Colin! Thanks for the shout out for Allie the Mountain Dog. She did get her 2nd surgery last week for TPLO and we're hopeful. She looks like a patchwork quilt too with stitches on both sides too as a few fatty tumors got taken out as well. Dogness is expensive but worth it :-/ Love the scenery you're showing and great job getting out there my friend! Much peace -Nutnfancy
@nutnfancy Hi Nutn. Thanks for the kind words my friend. I hope Allie is recovering well from her surgery. The dog I encountered on the hill was looking fit and well after its two knee surgeries. I hope all will get back to the mountains with you again. On another note, our cat broke his knee cap 18 months ago. Surgery was expensive and having to spend 6 weeks in a cage was not fun but now you wouldn't be able to tell he had ever done it. Back to chasing wildlife and up to mischief constantly.
@ColinOutdoors Tsk tsk Colin...here I am all curious and you still havn't found out...*shakes head* :-P Just kidding...would be interesting to find out what it was though! Have a good one my friend!
Great stuff, Colin! Beautiful, beautiful! I'd really enjoy hiking that...but as it is, I'm a Yank and there's an ocean between me an Scotland! Thanks for taking us along!
Lots of gorse up there, always nice to see. My absolute favourite tree, I have a walking stick made from it, full of character. There's an old saying: When the gorse is in flower, kissing's in season. (for those who don't know, gorse flowers all year around)
Great looking area to hike in. Hope you go back and film more of it when the weather is better. Always worth a hike when there is a "payoff" at the end, such as a nice view, or a waterfall. Gald your slip wasn't serious. Anyone that hikes enough sooner or later is going to have a spill or two. Anyone who says different doesn't hike enough or isn't telling the truth. Thankfully most spills are more embarrassing that anything else. What kind of camera are you using. The zoom is great. Great shots.
Hi Colin, I haven't seen you for a few days so I thought I'd go looking for you. Good thing I did too. I watched this video the other day but I'm not sure I posted a comment. So anyways, This is an awesome hike you went on and some of the prettiest scenery I've seen yet. Just gorgeous. The Old mine looks like an aggregate pit that they would use to make road base and stuff. Never know though, could be more. Maybe it's even haunted. Ooooooo.... Hope your doing well my friend.. : )
Ha, brilliant! Finally a video where I can actually identify the path you're on Colin! Did the very same walk a couple of months ago (in beautiful sunshine) & then camped between two of the peaks overnight. Survived some dreadful overnight weather in our tarp, but next day had to navigate down to a nearby town in terrible mist, soaked to the skin! I too hadn't been there in years and was surprised to see the usual glen path closed.
@fatmessiah Nice one my friend, sounds like a great adventure you had, even getting soaked, yeah its a great place, shame about the lower path being closed.
I like the story about the guy and his dog... It's too bad what Allie the black lab is going thru with her injury...but a lot of folks are pulling for her...
Absolutely beautiful mate. Shame about the wind and rain, but I do love it. I love listening to and watching it's power, and it gets rid of 99% of all the other people so I can have the woods to myself! Last pic is epic. :D
Beautiful hike. Have grown up in the Adirondack Forest, it's strange to see these hikes with virtually no trees. Still gorgeous though. Have a smashing day...Dash
WOW! Some of the best scenery I've seen from you yet! I am definitely putting Scottland on my places to go list! Well actually it was already there but it moved up a few spots now! Nice shout out to Allie!
I am hearing so many good things about Scotland lately especially the wild camping and the lochs, so I may have to head up there soon now that the midges are out of season.
Your 'bursting for the toilet but stopped and filmed this for you' comment made me smile.
Gorgeous area for a hike Colin! I really enjoyed the scenery in this one! Looks like we're having just about the same weather.... rainy and wet. Excellent photography at the end man!
Wow very cool place! Beautiful gorge and Glen! Alot of shelter material with all the furns around. Close call with the fall, it goes to show that we don't plan accidents they just happens but we can be prepared.
Good to know that you got out unscathed, thanks for sharing:o)
Stunning views in this video, Colin. Looks like you got a good cardio workout with the climbing of those steep stairs and the hills in general. Looks like a great area to further explore in other videos. Isn't it great to get a change in scenery once in a while?
