  • Is this the Ochils mate?

  • @vic01able Yeah its the route up to Ben Cleuch :-)

  • Hey Colin! Thanks for the shout out for Allie the Mountain Dog. She did get her 2nd surgery last week for TPLO and we're hopeful. She looks like a patchwork quilt too with stitches on both sides too as a few fatty tumors got taken out as well. Dogness is expensive but worth it :-/ Love the scenery you're showing and great job getting out there my friend! Much peace -Nutnfancy

  • @nutnfancy Hi Nutn. Thanks for the kind words my friend. I hope Allie is recovering well from her surgery. The dog I encountered on the hill was looking fit and well after its two knee surgeries. I hope all will get back to the mountains with you again. On another note, our cat broke his knee cap 18 months ago. Surgery was expensive and having to spend 6 weeks in a cage was not fun but now you wouldn't be able to tell he had ever done it. Back to chasing wildlife and up to mischief constantly.

  • Hey Colin, did you ever find out what that old mining operation was?

  • @IAMRONIN Hi mate, I actually haven't found out yet, I need to do some more research

  • @ColinOutdoors Tsk tsk Colin...here I am all curious and you still havn't found out...*shakes head* :-P Just kidding...would be interesting to find out what it was though! Have a good one my friend!

  • @IAMRONIN Haha, sorry my friend. When I find out, i'll be sure to let you know :-) Have a great day

  • @ColinOutdoors Haha, no problem Colin! I look forward to hearing what you find out!

  • Great stuff, Colin! Beautiful, beautiful! I'd really enjoy hiking that...but as it is, I'm a Yank and there's an ocean between me an Scotland! Thanks for taking us along!

  • @cmonsterz Hi my friend, thank you very much. Well I hope you make it across one day and hike the trail, take care

  • is it always that empty up there or was that only due to the rain? Also, any idea how old that area is?

  • @PHARRAOH Hey Alan, I encountered 3 people coming down from the hills and 1 guy going up. It was a Monday but I think at the weekends its alot busier

  • Lots of gorse up there, always nice to see. My absolute favourite tree, I have a walking stick made from it, full of character. There's an old saying: When the gorse is in flower, kissing's in season. (for those who don't know, gorse flowers all year around)

  • @Almightyrastus Yeah there sure is alot in the area. Very cool you have a walking stick made from gorse, nice one

  • Did you remember your Gorillapod? I noticed it on the ground at 1:30 ...Aaaaahhh...ok. It was attached to your walking pole...lol.

Smashing day and smashing video Col.

  • @RDPproject Lol, yeah it seemed to work ok on the pole, cheers Rob it was a fun hike

  • Wow, that Glen is awesome. Great hike even though it was raining. Take care!

  • @eschwebach Yeah it sure is, thanks for watching my friend

  • Great looking area to hike in. Hope you go back and film more of it when the weather is better. Always worth a hike when there is a "payoff" at the end, such as a nice view, or a waterfall. Gald your slip wasn't serious. Anyone that hikes enough sooner or later is going to have a spill or two. Anyone who says different doesn't hike enough or isn't telling the truth. Thankfully most spills are more embarrassing that anything else. What kind of camera are you using. The zoom is great. Great shots.

  • @1jeepcam Thanks my friend. Yeah sometimes falls are inevatible but its good to get up and keep going. The camera is a Sony DCR XE50

  • Are there still wild forests and untamed mountains in Britain?

  • @adobo777 Not many

  • I have spent some time in Scotland. This video brings back some memories. Nice vid.

  • @Strutingeagle Cheers mate

  • Hi Colin, I haven't seen you for a few days so I thought I'd go looking for you. Good thing I did too. I watched this video the other day but I'm not sure I posted a comment. So anyways, This is an awesome hike you went on and some of the prettiest scenery I've seen yet. Just gorgeous. The Old mine looks like an aggregate pit that they would use to make road base and stuff. Never know though, could be more. Maybe it's even haunted. Ooooooo.... Hope your doing well my friend.. : )

  • @saradreaming Hi Sara, I hope you are doing well. Yeah its a beautiful place, don't tell me its haunted, I will never go back lol. Take care

  • Very nice my friend. Thanks for the share.

  • @guns4funca Thanks man

  • Ha, brilliant! Finally a video where I can actually identify the path you're on Colin! Did the very same walk a couple of months ago (in beautiful sunshine) & then camped between two of the peaks overnight. Survived some dreadful overnight weather in our tarp, but next day had to navigate down to a nearby town in terrible mist, soaked to the skin! I too hadn't been there in years and was surprised to see the usual glen path closed.

  • @fatmessiah Nice one my friend, sounds like a great adventure you had, even getting soaked, yeah its a great place, shame about the lower path being closed.

  • Beautiful location Colin - thanks!

  • @alanstarkie2001 Thanks Alan, :-)

  • I like the story about the guy and his dog... It's too bad what Allie the black lab is going thru with her injury...but a lot of folks are pulling for her...

  • @DuckDodgers2400 Yeah the dog was doing well after two knee operations, back up and running.

  • Merry old England really is beautiful

  • @DuckDodgers2400 Its Scotland dude

  • @ColinOutdoors Sorry, my bad... Make that bonnie old Scotland...

  • @DuckDodgers2400 Haha, no worries mate

  • Absolutely beautiful mate. Shame about the wind and rain, but I do love it. I love listening to and watching it's power, and it gets rid of 99% of all the other people so I can have the woods to myself! Last pic is epic. :D

  • @Smith28Adventure Hi Smith, thanks my friend, yeah the wind and rain drives most people indoors, the solitude is always nice. Take care

  • Beautiful hike. Have grown up in the Adirondack Forest, it's strange to see these hikes with virtually no trees. Still gorgeous though. Have a smashing day...Dash

  • @mrriprock2 Cheers Dash, you too my friend

  • Such a beautiful scenery. Are there any bears in the area?

  • @mukatsukuful Thanks mate, no bears :-)

  • I think Tolkien's Elves could have lived there!

  • WOW! Some of the best scenery I've seen from you yet! I am definitely putting Scottland on my places to go list! Well actually it was already there but it moved up a few spots now! Nice shout out to Allie!

  • @ironmonkeyz Hi My friend, thank you. Hope you make it to Scotland one day. Take care

  • I am hearing so many good things about Scotland lately especially the wild camping and the lochs, so I may have to head up there soon now that the midges are out of season.

Your 'bursting for the toilet but stopped and filmed this for you' comment made me smile.
