The air they were breathing was toxic, and Christina Todd Whitman ( then head of the EPA ) told the workers that the air was safe to breath. @iam1inamil Optimal Underground Depth for a 1kt nuke, yes a 1kt nuke is 50 meters. a 150kt nuke would blow the bedrock off the top and would become an above ground level detonation. Not to mention that the cavity created would encompass the other 2 nukes as well and therefore they would be unable to be used. so for his story to hold any water, he needs to get his numbers correct first.

To do so would require an immense calculation (including the details of all materials, thier density how they were fixed/interacted (rigid fixings give an object different resonances to de-coupled/damped ones for instance))

Given these variables I believe it *would* be possible to calculate the resonant frequency, if sufficient computing power and the inclination were available for the task
