  • Hello, Vangellis , you are a marvelous person. Please think of us in AMerica ! Wanted to tell you that you are a superstar :)

  • My favourite music to make love with my wife. Every time is like the first!

  • This is wonderful music, as befits something from the brain of Vangelis but please bear in mind that we have been broadcasting into space continuously for about a hundred years now. Every radio programme, film and TV show is racing away from our planet at the speed of light. Which means that any other sapient life within a hundred light years knows we are here.

I wonder what they make of us?

  • Thanks Vangelis for opening my mind <3

  • Comment removed

  • The Intergalactic Radio Station, broadcasting at 12.51 kilacycles via the Armstrong subspace carrier from The Sol System in the Orion Spur to such destinations as Tannhauser, Kappa Crucis, Alpha Centauri, and the Galactic Core.

  • Great to listen to while viewing the full moon.

  • Good, but poppy compared to his 70's stuff...

  • Big Vangelis fan, and this is one of the better tracks from Direct. However, it's slightly cheeky by using the melody from Sega's Outrun, specifically 'Magical Sound Shower' in a couple of places and it's really obvious if you know it. I remember thinking this when I first bought the CD back in the day.

  • Have never heard the album Direct, but if this is what it is like, I'm going to own it very soon. Thanks for uploading this

  • 6:19

  • Not his best, imho. Heaven and Hell is much better.

  • This is the first electronic song I listened to

  • Vangelis= REAL music unlike the GARBAGE of today

Tranqvillia= The new hope for Music

  • If I were a billionaire I'd buy one of those giant radio telescope thingies and transmit this song out into space 24 hours a day.

  • @scockery you can use any powerful broadcaster. Like in film Contact (1997) where TV signal from Berlin Olympic games go to space and was returned by technologically advanced civilization. For radio signal doesn't exist any limits. So we send messages to Universe more than 100 years.

  • Amazing, impossible to describe!!

  • audiomovie.

  • 6 min intro no thx

  • The greatest song that ever written in this whole world.

  • @salamander462 Not that much lol

  • @salamander462 yes, sure! greatest song.

  • Amazing song. I've no proof of this but I'm pretty sure the opening vocals are a nod/tip-of-the-hat to Vangelis's: 'Tears in Rain' from Bladerunner. "I've, seen things.. ..so many things that you can't believe."

  • After 5:23 ...I feel my mind like wandering the universe....

  • If we ever get to a singularity and technology catapults humanity, ill design a space radio (im gonna study informatics, robotics and physics) that will be heard everywhere on this galaxy, first song im playing: you guessed.

thank you vangelis, with ur music, to eternity and beyond.

  • In 1783 I had a similar experience atop Mons Olympus.

  • VANGELIS IS THE MAESTRO!!!!

  • i`m soo sorry for those who don`t understand Vangelis

  • Great Song...

  • its a mamazing, take me to another world,,,,,

  • unique, jeinstveno !

  • So immersive, epic.....

but the voices ruin a little the ending :\

  • This could be in Mass Effect. How long ago did this guy make these tracks?

  • @SolidSnake3131

This song was made in 1988... still fresh! :)

  • 4:15 thats my favorite :)

  • @nachoyamerica1 4:36 begins IT for me!!! :0)

  • @hubcapslash same here lol

  • NYLON OXOGEN....GENIOUS

  • great music.

    great music, man.

  • Reminds me a bit of Duke Nukem 3D, Lunar Apocalypse.

  • The best music of the album, for me. Simply inspiring!

  • Synthesizer dialogues ......This has the Power.ThanX.

  • In this piece of music and its title we can see how much vangelis has expanded his mind to subjects such as space, colonization, science fiction, exploring the universe, he has reached to this concept that i never heard before, and intergalactic radio station which spreads all over the galaxy to be heard by many humans and maybe aliens

  • @cubalibre15 Sure

  • Fantastic track and fantastic words from gerzatubo!!!

  • Superbo! Vangelis sempre il migliore

  • powerfull tune

  • nice music and good picture!

  • In 1998, I drove alone up to Haleakala in Maui to watch the sunset. I played this on the car stereo and it was literally blasting. No one complained. Quite the contrary. I saw the tears run down the faces of some of the people there. A young couple embraced, two men held hands, A child was transfixed looking at the slowly disappearing light. A magical moment. When all generation gaps ceased to exist and all the souls in Unisom swayed in perfect harmony...The simplest of moments... unforgettable.

  • @dualpoletech Wish I could have been there. The hate and lack of emotion is so strong now, it's hard to keep on. Things must change though. :)

  • @pcross84 I agree with you wholeheartedly pcross84. The deterioration of the human spirit is rampant worldwide. We are constantly bombarded by garbage on television, Internet, radio, cinema etc. That is the reason why self imposed isolation is working for me. It allows me to freely navigate this world only seeking those moments of absolute harmony and keeping them forever in my heart...Thanks for your thought.

  • @pcross84 I am still pondering your thoughts and every time I come here I read your soulful comments. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • @dualpoletech I had to come back and listen again, and I'm glad I did. I hope that when things change, simple (yet complex) things like this touch many many more people the same way it did me. Hopefully sometime in this lifetime our paths cross. Until next time, may you remain happy and positive. :)

  • @dualpoletech my dick is pretty big, too

  • @leafsoup Good for you leafsoup, now that I know, I won't feel like such a freak any more...

  • @dualpoletech The two of you, having the bravery to admit publicly that you have big penises, has given me the courage to publicly admit that I too have an enormous bulbous penis. You are truly an inspiration to all of us that have large penises and are afraid to admit it to the world. Thank you.

  • @HighPriestofLemuria LOL!! thanks for making the start of my tedious day a happy one. should we start a club? maybe an appearance on "The View" where we can discuss the perils and advantages of being the proud owners of such appendices. Perils such as those of going to a nude beach and seeing the dismayed look on the faces of those less fortunate. Advantages such as receiving mass adulation at bachelorete parties. when I die I am leaving mine to the Miami Heat cheer leaders.

  • @HighPriestofLemuria This is hilarious.

  • @dualpoletech pics or it didnt happen

  • @dualpoletech I swear by the beard of ZEUS, when I read that I got light headed! Nice post! I caught my mother, who has since passed of lung cancer, listening to this in HER car!....I was immediately in LOVE!...There is something about the hook that gets me right in the pit of my soul.

  • @hubcapslash Thank you very much for such a nice note!! What a great way to wake up on this cool morning. Is a pity that this comment seccion only allows a limited number of characters. I wasn't able to tell the whole story about that voyage to Hawaii. Maui completely enchanted me, betwitched me. Incidentally, I was hiking back from a secluded beach and I found a cassette on the side of the road, it contained this piece. Talking about a gift to the soul. So sorry about your Mom but she lives on.

  • @dualpoletech On the side of the road?....BRILLIANT!!! Truly a gift :0)

  • @hubcapslash Yes, on the side of the road, after swimming with Humpback Whales and feeding giant Manta Rays. That was by far the most amazing trip I have ever taken in my life. It changed my perspective and perception of many things. Most important of all, my true spirituality finally was set free. Without further interference nor misguided notions that often organized religions impose upon us all.

  • @dualpoletech Can you say you were enlighten? It does make you see things differently. You stop beign a church robot.

  • @Deepmindandheartlife Absolutely!! Interestingly enough, I was expelled from Catholic school at age 11 because I told a priest he was full of crap. Subsequently, I grew up without any spiritual guidance (not a good thing) but as the saying goes, !When the student is truly ready, the master will reveal it self! And that is precisely what happened on that particular journey. Namaste!!

  • @dualpoletech Were you driving alone how come " no one complained" ?lol

     Just joking

  • @dualpoletech mate thats one hell of an epic scene

  • @dualpoletech The song is about the morning, though... :\

  • @wisgliebau Indeed it is!! And scores of people drive up Haleakala to see the sunrise. But since I lived there, getting up at 3:00 am just to be there before sunrise was not on my plans, I did it once, it was amazing, stunning, indescribable, but fucking crazy to do it all the time like a pilgrimage LOL!! Cheers!~~~

No cometas locuras.

  • No, gracias a ti por aliviar my preocupacion. Me alegro que estes bien y cuidatate tu man.

Tu veras a tu hermano y yo vere a mi Lucy. Acercate a Jesús, el es la vida.

  • @wandrestar1982 DIOS PERMITE QUE TE ESCUCHES MUSICA QUE CONECTA CON EL

  • @jherami208 Agradezco tu sesibilidad y comentario tan amable.

  • @gerzatubo

Wake up dude, your "dios" doesn't exist

  • @autioooo THANK YOU SO MUCH for enlightening all of us with your DELIGHTFUL and insightful veiws!!!......Now, shut the fuck up.

  • I'm always getting high when I hear this one and I must confess I feel myself floating everytime I hear it! Simply GREAT!

  • YES i just heard this stoned. wicked.

  • "here's some names for you, 'Polyester landscape, Nylon Oxygen, Ashes to Concrete.' etcetera.....etcetera.... etcetera..... "Oh, by the way, It's been a beautiful morning, what a morning, great morning, It's a great moring man." Explanatory notes: Speech by Casey Young. Jon = Jon Anderson. "Lets break some rules" was about going to the studio and writing some music. Casey is using the patch names from the synths (nylon, oxygene, polyester concrete etc).
  • "I've, seen things.. ..so many things that you can't believe. Past designs, future designs, cables in the bend. Second-hand sounds, future sounds, synthesised dialogues. Incomprehenseble software. Hi Jon, let's break some rules! Here comes the sun. We're doing some recordings later Same ol' factory you know,,,,,
  • "Direct"....one of the best Vangelis albums that nobody's heard of...LOL.

    Good stuff. 1988 I believe?

  • "Direct" is generally considered to be one of his best. My three favorites are Direct, Opera Savauge, and Oceanic.

  • @mournblade1066 I love Vangelis' "Heaven And Hell" album!

  • AWESOME

  • This is the best. Try taking it on holiday to Greece and watch the ocean and waves.

It is an absolutely beautiful experience.

  • magic!

  • 3:10

  • The singer sounds like the guy from "One Night in Bangkok." Thoughts?

  • John Anderson from the mythical 70's band YES

  • No, it's not Jon Anderson. It's Casey Young. The "Jon" in "Hi Jon, let's break some rules!" is, however, referring to the same Jon Anderson.

  • You're thinking of Murray Head, but this isn't him. I think this guy's name is Casey Young.

  • Direct, the CD, can you believe it's a bonus track?

  • Thank U

  • Vangelis is GENIUS!

  • excellent song!

  • Totally loved it! :) I really love this track...it makes me wander way beyond in my thoughts.

  • This track is absolute genius; all in 7:44 mins!

  • now i can fly, thank you from switzerland!

  • hehe nice one, cheers :)
