You are clipping dirty nails? 0:50 Very unsanitary practice ! Nails - especially dirty nails - should be clipped only after the bath when paws and nails have been cleaned.
dont clip althe way to the pink in clear nails somedog will still bleed like kimburlee said...ive ben cliping dog nails for 3 years have 10 dogs n 3 cats so iv done alot of clipping and i oinly nicked the quick twice n i trim my rots every 2 weeks shes an inside dog so i check them every week n take a small amoutn off
I have the nail clipper with my labs nail in the hole, but Im just too scared to squeeze the clippers! Can anyone enlighten me on getting over this fear!
This video is a WASTE. Can't see anything... black dog - black nails! I suggest using a light colored, very large dog, and a camera guy who can zoom in real close. I'm disappointed.
@FreeRangeMeatHunter for your information not every dog owner had a dog with white nails! I was looking for a video WITH A DOG WITH BLACK nails because my dog has black nails! This video is perfect!!!
they have a new trimmer that actually just grinds the nail down. my mother has one but it takes many times to get it done. This method puts pressure on the nail and it hurts..
ugh! my pit has a due claw! i hate it! i cut it one time & her nails are clear so i went & i cut her nails it was weird because i know for a fact that i didn't cut her quick & omg my babygirl ran away from me i was like ?! get back here! so i went to make sure she was okay & her nail was bleeding i didn't have the quik stop so i had to use candle wax . . . yes you learn little tricks like that when grooming or you can use cornmeal or how ever you spell it
ive been doing Dog grooming for a couple of weeks now and im so scared of cutting dogs nails because i cant stand hurting them. i defo know i need to cut the back claw but my dog squeels everytime i go to cut his clw does that mean im hurting him or he just being a pain because he knows he can get around me?
Most of the time its because it dog just doesn't like it. For me, when I first got my German Shepard, he would howl and whine a lot because he just did not like it. Try maybe giving him some treats or something to distract.
yeah, i decided my dogs nails really needed clipping, they touched the table that i was working on. my dog jumps everytime i cut one, i didn't cut to far near the quick, im not that confident, especially with my dog as he has black and white nails. my aunties dog was fine practically sat there as if he was having a manicure or something because i had to file his nails down as well they were extremely sharp. he loved it ^^;
careful you are not torquing the nail at all. when i first started i was holding so tight cuz I thought it was being steady. Turns out I was putting too much pressure and was turning when I squeezed.
Good dog

What is it with these dog videos using BLACK dogs? The anal gland video is done on a black dog too! No, you can't see a darn thing.

I know what you mean. I've been grooming dogs fro almost a year now. I takes time getting use to the nails.
for all you the best way to keep a dogs nail short is take it for walks on hard rough surfaces. it helps alot.
