I think you need to pull your head out of your ass bro. Death had a goal- to be free of Lucifer's leash. To accompish that he needed Lucifer sent back to Hell, so he gave his ring so that could happen.

Still i find it very odd the difference in power between him and his brothers(War, Pestilence and Famine).

@melnnix Well they embody the things they're named after. Everything that exists has to die, and with age comes power in almost every supernatural thing. So you go back to when could each of these things could be born. The rest require a lot of things to be alive to create them, famine and pestilence go hand and hand and they provoke war. But all those things create death. So the three horseman really would be feeding deaths power.
