  • why couldnt i go the whole 3 min without choking up. you were and are truly blessed luke. to have had a father who adored you life so much in the light of his own success.God never makes mistakes, your father

  • I always thought I had the best father but Tim was such a great one. What I've learned since his passing is that I admire the man even more than the journalist/Tv personality. Such a Loss

  • am speechless and teared up. just so wonderful! thanks for posting this clip.

  • My good God this is hard to watch and listen to without tearing up. i too am a father of a young child i understand perfectly understood what tim russert meant. God Bless you Tim Russert and Gods Speed.

  • Tim's passing has affected me in a very personal way.

I'm glad for Luke that there is this book in Tim's own words and the body of video for Luke to remember his Dad by.

Men like Tim are few and far between these days, I feel honoured to have "known" him and will do my best to live the way Tim demonstrated life should be lived, with excitement love and honesty. Qualities lacking in most men I know. Thanks, Tim, for showing the way. You will be dearly missed.

  • i admit. i also burst into tears when i saw this.. I admired fathers who are so expressive in their feelings for their children.. GOd bless to all fathers..

  • what is the songs played threw this...!

  • The song is "You raise me up" I believe if you pull up Josh Groban's version (probably others), you will get the violin introduction. Mr. Russert said he stood on his father's shoulders, and Luke on his. Very appropriate song. He will be missed, sorely.

  • Thanks So Much! Also i was wondering if you knew the other ones too!

  • it is actually londonderry air (o danny boy), it is a traditional irish song, josh groban ripped off the melody

  • oh my god this is just such a great tribute. What a sentiment to put out for all fathers everywhere and especially on his sad passing. I live in the UK and never knew of Tim but from seeing just this clip I can tell it is a sad loss for journalism. I cried when I saw this but it touched my heart so deeply. thank you for posting

  • Wow is all...God Bless...
