we have those stop lines in the US and nobody stops on them, they pull right up to the far line of the cross walk, blocking the whole thing. It's ridiculous. Then a cop pulls me over because I didn't come to complete stop turning right on red even though i can tell it's completely clear and safe to turn, but the jackasses that block the cross walk NEVER get stopped. That pisses me off

Since we are talking about stop lights I would like to add that when the light turns yellow it means to stop if you are able to do so safely. Yellow light does not mean to gun it through the intersection or to run the red......

I drive a truck so I just drive up to the red runners as close as I can to scare them because they KNOW they are running a red and holding up the other people who legally have the right of way.

I do this in my car late at night when the intersection lights are simpler (they can be fairly complicated here in the daytime). Stop way before traffic line, time it with a rolling start so you enter the intersection as it turns green, and smoke the car waiting and creeping. Fun, haha...

My opinion only, but I think you're playing Russian roulette by getting a running start at the yellow. Just about every day I see idiots running through lights that have already turned red; that's why I never attempt to cross into the intersection first when I get the green.

Your light logic is a little flawed. If you want to be quickest through a light you don't stop at all. If you stop near or you stop far doesn't really matter, thinking that it does is along the same lines of thinking speeding a little will get you to your destination much quicker.

In an american scenario, two-lane road, one lane each way. Car A stops right at the light, car B stops a ways back to get the jump. Car B still has to wait on Car A.

another thought: when cars are pulling up to a red light, they try to save time by pulling up as close as possible to the car in front of them. However, they lose time because when the light turns green, each car has to wait ~7 seconds for the driver in front of them to wake up and get enough distance for it to be safe.

Accelerating through an intersection as the light turns green is what i used to do until i did it and some dumb kid in a riced out honda tryed to beat the red light and almost t-boned me. Its useful but not worth the risk.

Well, If you are a pedestrian on a zebra cross you have the precedence. What is happening here is that the cars are not giving the precedence to the pedestrians. That´s why they are on middle of the road, they are like "Hello, I wanna pass so let me in!"

What if some car go trough red light (after turning from yellow) and you are doing ~speed limit before the intersection (started ride when you see the yellow turning for them)?

You are often showing to us how many red light runs happens while you vloging... So, what if? Would you be able to stop? Or nobody runs red light after its just changed from yellow, because everybody knows that all cars/scooters rush when they see green light without even checking if the intersection is clean?

I hate it when guys weave through the scooters waiting for the light to to the front, out by the box for the 2 point turn. Then when the light changes they just putt out. I have to keeep coming off the throttle and try to find away to get past them and the cars that have come up. It's always the slow guys who do that.. Then after you get past, at the next light they come up and do it again. This is why weapons are outlawed in Taiwan.

The problem with being at the speed limit when the light turns green is that there may be straggling idiots in the cross street charging through the red light. I never start going until I'm sure that nobody is coming from either side. I'll let a couple others go first so they get killed, not me!
