Breastfeeding in public is not appropriate in developed countries. You can justify breastfeeding in public by saying it in necessary to the babies health. That's like me saying if anyone has an objection to me pissing in the streets than they have a problem.
@iyamwatieat There are special places to piss..they are called toilets. If there were special areas close by in shopping areas, resturants etc for women to comfortably breastfeed, I'm sure they would be used. You cant compare feeding a child with disposing of body waste. Would you rather see a hungry child scream for food or a happy breastfed one?
@iyamwatieat You pissing in the street poses a potential health risk to others. A mother feeding her child does not. Feeding a child as you correctly state is necessary to their health, but you pissing wherever you feel like does not provide any health benefits, but may cause weakening of the muscles that control your bladder. Babies get hungry, breastfeeding gives them things that formula milk can not, nothing in that requires being hidden.
I am at a complete loss why anyone could possibly object to breastfeeding in public, covered or not covered. Nursing moms should be able to breastfeed their babies anywhere, anytime, covered or not. If it bothers someone, they have a problem.
