  • When he says "I'm not Jimi Hendrix, I ain't dead yet." damn...if only he could get over come all that shit.

  • Holy m christos just look at the background I put on my page today!! then I come across this!! I'm grateful man thanks! as sad as these sometimes make me they are valuable history !

  • This man is a musical genius and an inspiration to countless musicians. Most people know he had a progressive bipolar condition exacerbated by alcohol and coke and we can imagine scenes like this, but why do we have to watch them? Leave the man his dignity and take all these videos down!

  • 3:34 aw man...

  • Hell yea i'm like that sometimes!!!!

  • having been a jazz fan for a few years anyhow its almost inconcievable to think of jazz and not include jaco he was amazing and i do look past his behavior and mania in this the guy seemed sweet but always wound up like he couldnt turn it off i really wish someone would have continued working with him or that he chilled out a bit and the offers wouldve rolled in his library of work though leads me to believe he accomplised huge strides as it was

  • every body thinks they made them self, there is no chilling out, only praying to god is the only hope to take satan out of the picture.

  • this reminds of me of that scene in boogie nights where they went over to that coke head's mansion to scam him with baking soda disguised as coke.

    eerily similar

  • how could that be, all we did is flim what was going on, and i asked questions.

  • @jazzmanstore

I mean the whole atmosphere not the specific events.

  • Pure exploitation.

    I hope you're proud.

  • Jaco's family should have been contacted on this. I would not want to see my father, an alcoholic w/mania, depicted in his weakness like this. But when you love someone you look beyond their weakness and love the whole of them in spite it. Some people will think poorly of Jaco after this, but fuck them. You see the truth here and it's not good, but it's just the truth. The truth is an opportunity to forgive, let go, remember that person for all that they were and be grateful for them.

  • @WTHFX You're Right ! Thousand times si on aime on pardonne les faiblesses Yes ! je regarde Jaco dans cette video avec tendresse. Il a laissé son empreinte de sa musique et de sa personnalité puissante, élégante Excuse my english no good,

  • his boys can play felix and the rest, they can play, believe that

  • "im not jimi hendrix im not dead yet..."

  • this kind of stuff make me sick, I don't wanna remember jaco like that, you're a stupid man

  • el mas grande !!!

  • NORMAL BEHAVIOR I SUPPOSE FOR A GENIUS

  • LIKE MOST OF THE PEOPLE I HUNG OUT WIT

  • wat kinda beer was he drinkin????

  • he,s german so we were drinking Heineken beer, does not tast good at 11 am on a saturday morning.

  • I'll drink to that!!

  • never realised bout the otis redding touch in continuum, that was pretty cool. "A good composer don't borrow he steals" - Igor Stravinsky. Damn straight, pride takes up too much of most artist's minds. thinkin to much and feelin too little

  • that's right, the majority of white musicians stole everything from black blues players and jazz players and they never help then or gave thanks to any of them, look at the Beatles and Little Richard they also stole from chuck berry.joco always acknowledge were he stole from. and the list is endless.

  • who is the guy Jaco hands the phone too? He calls him one of the great Guitar players / bass players in the world?

  • he was joking about me, i put the video up. yours truly the jazzmanstore.

  • Peter Yianillos (sp?) who helped him record Word of Mouth among other projects.

  • I slouch like that too!

  • This is how I am sometimes. I'm not

Bi-Polar I'm just jumpy and all over the place.

  • oh sniffing jaco

  • when this "interview" was made?? witch year?

  • thanks for share !

  • "I'm not Jimi Hendrix, Im not dead yet" That is scary.

  • not so scary, he knew were he was headed, that's why he lived his last days like he was on the program fear factor. hanging from balcony's breaking his arm, all that.

  • I didnt hear about that story, please do tell.

  • yes please do. i dont know it either

  • with a super huge heart. It must have been really cool to have hung out with such a soulfull guy? Im going to check the rest of your videos out. Thanks so much for the post becuase Ive often wondered about some of the 'dark years" off stage. If ever a documentry is to be made, this stuff would HAVE to be included.

  • white people call this bi-polar behavior today they didn't have a name for it.

  • @bryandunnblues

actually not all doctors, a growing portion of the scientific community is coming around to the understanding that positivism has no place in the social sciences, thus rendering psychology a quack science, just like (MOST) black people have always known it to be.

  • Your Jaco Vids have floored me, Ive watched and rewatched them all morning. It was everything I thought it would be or sound like. Im a guitarist , that comes from a long line of musicains, that also has Bipolar disorder in the family. Alot of the inteview reminds me of my binge driking of days past, under the influence of to much alcohol or other things. This is some of the best, pure, raw, realife footage or a mad genius ,

  • what you had was not bi-polar it was what you said, binge drinking or other things.

  • seeing this makes me wanna cry.. :( omg why ??????

  • my bad we dont want to see that ... have some respect and keep this for u man.. my bad .. thats probably the badest part on jaco life when he was completly out of control before he left Weather Report..well im disapointed someone put this private video here..

  • @PhuckHue2 I was kidding

  • Well some of us are friends with his family and don't give a shit if the guy who posted the videos is hot. These are private films from a public figure, and it is wrong to post them, flat out wrong.

  • @bassplayerdotca I'm with you my friend. This man who posted this video is no "friend" of Jaco. I met him at some function after Jaco's death and he was selling this crap tape from the Japan tour with this little clip tacked on. He's a user and a loser.

Love live Jaco."Who loves ya babe?".

  • Have some respect for his kids, family, fans, and for Jaco. Take this video and the others like it off!!!! Come on everybody what do you think!!!

  • Jaco was a public figure, just like,Elvis,Morrison,James and the list is endless.people want to see then, with the good the bad or the ugly, i enjoy the jazzmans videos i think he's hot. hay jazzman, if your single let me know, love Gloria

  • I agree, i think this should be taken off youtube. it's not fair to publicly exhibit jaco when he was in this state.

  • @bassplayerdotca i have to say this wasn't exactly a video i think should be on youtube

  • Thank so much to show me the dark side of Jaco. I would like to see a movie about the life of this genious. Maybe this is sad but is part of the tragedy and Extraordinary life of Jaco.

  • these videos just sucks.

Please talks about Jaco's Art not only his negative side.

  • these videos just sucks...

is very sad to speculate on a Man troubles.

i know this is Jaco, but often the negative side takes place.

i admit that i watched these vids with curiosity, anyway,

    i prefere other stuff definitely.

  • This certainly wasn't the normal regulated Jaco you see on stage in this video. His father had driking issues and Jaco knew it so he never touched a drop or atleast he didn't until Joe Zawinul offered him some to "level him out" after a gig. I read somewhere that Joe described him as acting "strange" afterwards and that it was probably the worst mistake he ever made... This looks like Jaco after a few brews. Its really quite sad to see such a genius like Jaco be reduced to pan handling. Sad.

  • Powerful stuff. I have no words at the moment. I kinda knew that he was "wild". But to be able to have tiny peak. HOLY SHIT!

  • PART 4 IS COMING UP

  • I liked the video, really, jaco WAS LIKE THAT, in the real life. Nowadays every body idealises him, I used to do it, but one realises that manic depression is not always glamourous. Geniuses are like that, people expects some kind of succesful jerk in a pure hollywood style, when most of the time they're freaks. Freaks are odd thinking people, more creative than most of us, and that's what gives them power. A genius is always alone.

  • THANK YOU.

  • You are correct! Here in Florida you used to be able to find a bootleg release of the complete video on VHS. This guy profited off the video for at least $50 a copy as it was commonly resold secretly in music shops for $100 (I worked at one). It makes me sad that someone would want to put something like this out there. When they finally do get to the "interview", the questions are so weak that Jaco acts more buzzed than he really was probably due to sheer boredom from these knuckle-heads.

  • CONTROVERSY.

  • Interesting but very sad to see this. Best bass player ever!

  • I'm not English can you write what they say, I don't understand because they speak too fast.

  • your italian,by the flag on your video, can't you get some one to translate american slang for you, it would take too long for me to write what joco says. keep on playing your very good.

  • No problem man, thanks!

  • for instance, here's something that jaco said, if Russia attacked Turkey from the rear, would Greece help? now how can i translate that to you. he talked like that most of the time.

  • It's actually quite easy to translate if you can wrap your mind around that. He was basically making a joke about sodomy and homosexuality; think ancient Greece...

  • no, jaco was not drunk, he was letting out pressure from crrying and sopporting so my musicians and dealing with stupid night club managers and owners, they are all f&n greedy and want to pay you the same no matter how many years experience you have.

  • is jaco drunk/high?

  • the guy sitting was jaco's producer he worked for abc sports and had a mobile recording studio and did jaco's live album, petter yanolis the greek.

  • ive seen this vid or one like it before ...is that kev at the bar,,you lush..hahahahah jk

  • thats kevin kaufman the famous luthier and jaco

damn you were skinny kev !!

frank you are killin me man !!
