  • your my hero(:

  • its too early for 3D, some people still have bulky SD TVs

  • 3D was done years ago... It's not new...

  • @RubeboyProductions ya but back then the picture color was ble and red...

  • i work for Sony in the wahouse and they have ashit load of new tvs there are so many diffrent models of Sony tv they have EX,NX, LX,HX, THE EX MODELS ARE NOT 3D ALL THE REST ARE THEY ARE EXRTREMLY HEAVY I WENT TO A SONY BOOTH AND TRIED THE 3D GRADTURISMO AND THEY HAD A MOVIE CLIP OF GUY SEBATION IN 3D INMY OPINION IT GAVE ME A HEAD ACHE I HAVE A BRAVIA I PREFER THE BIG SCREEN IN 3D NOT IN MY ROOM FUCK SONY

  • This is dumb. Why should I change for technology? If I watch tv lying down, it damn well better still look good when my head is tilted. Technology is driven by the desires of the consumer, which means, probably very quickly, these tv's will be completely outdated when something less annoying comes out.

  • i love your JTHM shirt!

  • I'm adopting a wait and see attitude in regards to 3D TV. It seems cool but I'm gonna wait until they improve the technology and possibly until you don't need to wear glasses and they make 3D TVs with a 50 inch+ screen. I like the idea of 3D TV but I think that it needs some work.

  • Its 6:30 minutes waste of time watching this video.. You are Screwed...

  • @vinothstar001 that only shows how retarded you are by sitting through the hole 6.30 min of the vid even if you weren't liking it

  • @Desaxeronex get ur ass out man

  • were a freemason ring to one of thoes conventions and youll walk out with a job or 30 new partners

  • You are a fucking magician, as soon as you yelled at the garbage truck, i heard one outside my house...

  • 3d porn your crazy

  • Why don't they use the same technology used in Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, etc (RealD 3d)?

  • 3D BOOBS!!!!!!!! XD

  • hands on demo? how misleading..

  • Forgive my naivety.

You have presented yourself as someone who may listen to me.

    I have 'reinvented' 3D TV.

As long as you have two eyes, I can show a way that it doesn't matter about the tilt of your head.

Fuck off the suggestion about a screen on the other side of the room.

I've had this baby/frustration in the back of my head for sometime.

I've given up on getting something financial out of it.

You will need to wear special goggles (bulky or passive).

    Be in touch.

  • i thought some of the 3D tvs could change any 2D media into 3D. because having to buy another 3D BLUERAY player and a 3D movie is just not goind to cut- it. MAssive fail!!

  • U must have been wearing the polarized passive glasses when u lost the 3d effect when tilting ur head. The shutter glasses technology which are active does not have this problem.

  • 3D TVS ARE FOR TOOLS

  • ewwh they have shutters thats going to be annoying, they will probaly have a shutting noise, i hope not tho

  • u cant get mad that u have to trown out your old tv to get a new 3d one....technology changes! i waited and will buy nothing smaller then a 60 ince, 240 refresh rate or more, contrast ratio that beats anything out now...and will not buy it will prob 2011, pay cash. good things come to thos who waite

  • ohh let the world stop just so mr.wayne gale lookin mofoka can talk about 3D tv. woe is thou.

  • Right now it doesn't appeal to me at all. I'll wait until we get the home equivalent of cinema style 3D.

  • you know there are 3d tv's without glasses!!! I think that'll be the future not with the glasses. glasses are just another thing you can lose besides you regular remote.

  • Sounds good on paper. But the way you put it Blunty it sounds like a medicore experience.

  • anyone want to go ahead and list the definition of hands on?..thanks blunty

  • johnny the homicidal maniac?

  • exactly my good friend

    great comic

  • get a recliner. comfort and 3d

  • there are televisions that are 3d capable that you dont have to wear the chunky glasses for :]

google it! the technology is really cool!!!

  • what if your colour blind, does it still work?

  • i wear contacts.

  • All around the tek is not ready yet. The Movies have the best 3d so far with just the special shades u have to wear. From what i understand the Projections DLP TV's were already for HD almost 2-3 years ago and were now seeing this stuff come up. PS3 can do 3D but most gamers will not buy a new TV just for a few games that will be in 3D This seems like Net gen tech to me and when ps4 and Xbox....what ever comes out maybe they will find a way to do it with normal HD TV's at 60 Htz or 120 Htz.HDMI

  • So 3DTV isn't ready yet. Shame. Imagine watching Saving Private Ryan or Black hawk Down in 3D comfortably. That would of been BA. Oh well. Here's to a better 3D experience.

  • You should spend the money on a plane ticket, buy a new home in recession-age America, and see our movies in 3D. I know they're virtually (lol) the same, but the 3D glasses I get at the movie theatre I work at fit over my glasses

  • I noticed that 3D sucks.

  • I know this is off topic, but are you going to continue Meatspace?

    I really enjoyed that series

  • I am excited about this... But I may be more excited about the JTHM shirt that was being worn in the video.

  • "Shut up! Freakin garbage men!" lol he's cute. I wouldn't buy it. i'll just let one of my bonehead friends buy one then hang out at his place all the time. =P i do so love movie marathons!

  • nice review! :3 i want a 3D t.v even if it has some problems... oh and nice JtHM shirt!!! ;D

  • imagine god of war 3 in 3D! ooooooooooooaaaaaaouuuuuuuuuu

  • soooo, wheres the demo?

  • I noticed the tilty prob watchin Avatar in theatres

  • Sounds nice, though I think I'll wait for the Holograms. ;)

One fun thought I had, from a laptop pick up holographic windows and screen to share with your friends. *sigh* dreams.

  • so if i have a ps3 can i get the 3d update or do i have to buy a new 3d thousand dollar tv

  • are ps3 games going to be 3d

  • @surfs1man

yeah, there are now company's producing 3d games, and soon there will be a update for ps3 to play 3d games(I don't know if it's software or hardware update).

  • ignore my dumb ass.. i just noticed whats on his tshirt.. Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.. anyone wearing this just cant take themselves THAT seriously.. fucking SWEET!! :)

  • How about the 3DTV's that require no glasses?

  • @Jourei91

You obviously don't know how they make 3D Movies...They use multiple cameras and adjust the lighting which is why you have to wear dark classes to see in 3-D.

You're eyes can't do that with the current technology. You'll most likely never see 3DHDTV sets w/o glasses until Holographic TVs come out.

  • @rashin

    yes they can.

There are 3D tv's without using glacess, but they stoped making it for some reason. And now they come with this tv, with glacess.

  • @newsboy32

My guess is that they would be too expensive to buy and/or have networks broadcast in a compatible format.

  • Oh good idea Einstein.... how do you propose they make those?

When the technology needed doesn't exist yet

  • Whoa, well done living in a barrel! :D

Or, that technology is quite amazing if it was invented last year but doesn't exist yet.

  • i think ill just stick with my hd tv lol because 3d doesnt really look 3d just gives a better depth of field and nothing ever comes out the screen like they say it will lol

  • Lol @ the garbage men!

  • Good review, I am sometimes pissed when people are so negative on new tech. 3D is first time coming to mass consumers, and it will evolve with time - well if all the pessimists shut their mouths....one more comment, 3D will be an optional to 2D so what is the problem?, if you don't like, or get tired then just switch back to 2D simply. Yes, it would be a problem if you can't switch back to 2D. I am so looking forward to buy a 3D tv one day and connect it to my PS3 :)

  • why not do it like a cinema?

  • Elaborate...

  • in a cinaema with 3D, if u tilt ur head it wont kill the image and glasses rnt heavy... y not make it like that

  • because in a theater they use many different angled projectors that make it possible to tilt your head, the glasses only do so much

  • IMO, this whole 3D TV thing is gonna be nothing more than a gimmick.

I'd like to see it for myself though, has potential for gaming, I agree with you on that.

  • the 3D is created by polarisation, which is why when you tilt your head, you won't be able to see the 3D image properly :(

  • @MigelMeUp In the case of "realD" in cinemas, yes, but the TV's use a shutter system and no polarization difference between left/right images is present.

  • oh really :O thats pretty cool :D

and thanks for responding to my comment :D:D:D

  • @Blunty3000 I think they already fixed that on the new TVs, I tested one and tilted my head, it actually still worked. It didn't only work when lying at 90o.

  • The head tilting problem is unavoidable, because stereoscopic 3D content, like say the Avatar movie, is really just two 2D images showing what your eyes would see if they were separated horizontally. To show how it would look with your head tilted, they'd need to reshoot the entire movie with the cameras separated vertically. Or you need to tilt the screen, or the image on the screen, when you tilt your head. VR goggles don't have the head tilting problem though.

  • sony seems to like you lol

  • 3d tv reminds me of the family guy episode when they buy a new HDTV and the news anchor says the new format that makes HD obsolete.

  • HEY,HEY!...no okay... stop it... we need the noble designated refuse man, without him the world would be overun by the multitudes of urburn fox's. Now lets take a minute to reflect apon this........ okay, good.

  • I was hoping for passive polarized glasses... because the shutter glasses give people headaches AND I don't want to have to remember to charge the specs. However, the head tilting problem is the same as any 3D film in the theatre... you're supposed to be sitting stright up in a seat and god forbid you arrive late and have to sit in the front blurry row.

  • Im looking forward to 3D tech, not because I cant wait for the latest and greatest, but usually when something comes out thats "Better" than anything else, all the things that are deemed "Inferior" drops in price, almost in a ridiculous fashion...I cant wait to pay nickles and dimes for a HDTV...

  • What a waste . kudos or not. It is amazing and Beuuuutiful. But if i cant lay back with my Hooty too hotty .....? NO BUY !

  • I'll adopt when the technology irons itself out and the units come into reasonable price. And by reasonable I mean like that 32 inch $250 1080p LCD TV I bought from Newegg.

  • That's pretty cheap.

    But which was the maker?

  • sony

  • Wow, then it was really worth buying.

I thought it was from some unknown cheap company, tbh.

  • RCA. It was a Newegg Shellshocker deal. I fucking love Newegg man.

  • Thanks blunty, for your videos and for introducing me to the awesomeness that is JTHM.

  • Love the shirt JTHM is awesome

  • as long as there are glasses involved 3d will be nothing more than a novelty

  • I wear clip ons over my specs, to view my Trimon 3D screen, and can keep my head horizontal with no problems, roll on the 3D revolution, maybe they can develop a TV sized screen like on my Fuji W1 3D camera, which needs no glasses at all.

  • ROFL, gawds your so cute

  • I wear glasses and it's a pain in the arse to wear 3D glasses over the top. I could handle it for Avatar, but I wouldn't want to wear them all the time at home. 3D tv's are a great idea but I don't think it's practical.

Great vids again Blunty. Ive been pretty slack in keeping up to date, but I have a 3hr wait at Vegas airport, a good time to catch up.

    Cheers mate!

  • Im not too interested in 3D yet. I've seen plenty of movies in 3D but I like more traditional 2D to be honest.

  • I still like traditional black and white movies.

  • just another gimmick, I'm happy with my flat screen for the next several years lol.

just because they are selling it doesnt mean you have to buy it, it just makes your a bandwagon cheerleader when you do that all the time.

  • Says the guy with a flat screen.

  • I know of a fix for the head tilting thing, would really only work for games though. What they could do is have an accelerometer inside the glasses so they can tell how tilted your head is and then have the software tilt the 3D camera in the game accordingly. For movies, it just plain wouldn't work though.

  • they had a 3d tv prototype at the MCM expo, using the hole real-G technology doohickey that they have in cinema's. So the normal 3d they give you worked fine. Sounds to me like sony needs to co-operate with real-g because battery powered glasses will be a disaster in marketing. Well unless the TV's are under $2000 they are seriously going to have to wait quite a few years befor they ship them.

  • I suppose you're right. :)

  • im very hesitant to even consider the 3D thing

1 cant sit straight for shit

    2 i hate where glasses

3 is it really gonna be worth it i mean when you watch anything in 3D in the movie theaters at some point you always have to take the damn things off because they get so annoying

i feel like its gonna be like he wii thing just a pointless gimmick i mean 3Ds fine and all but its gets old every other Disney movie is in 3d now and im already tired of it just leave the damn thing alone

    3D porn FTW

  • 3D porn will be just around the corner...

  • What's the point in 3-D porn when someone likes flat-chested girls :3

  • I'm hoping soon everyone will realize 3D is an annoying gimmick and we go back to watching stuff without headaches.

  • 3d is NOT a gimmick, it's as old as photography itself, and has a following of serious devotees. I have been taking 3D (stereo) pictures for over 50 years. Its about time the rest of the world caught up with us. If it gives you a headache, it's not 3D that's at fault, it's mis-use of the basic idea, by people who don't know the basic rules regarding 3D viewing, or projection.

  • I really hope 3d never becomes standard for TVs or movies. I really hate the effect, it's even further from how things look in the real world than classic 2d and gives me a headache after a few minutes as my eyes strain to compensate.

  • I they they should just leave 3D technology for the cinemas..

  • I will wait a little before I buy something like that. and concerning gamers (I am one) I do hope that something comes out for our PC so. THEN i would definitely buy it as soon as i had the money! ^^

(but only with games that work and are displayed in 3d, that would be so cool)

  • There are already some 3d pcs out, even 3d laptops. I think only a few games are made specifically to work with 3d though, but the pcs come with software which converts 2d games to 3d with pretty damn good quality, but of course it doesn't match when the game is specifically made for 3d.

  • "No-one really still runs windows 95 for the nostalgia or the classic feel."

I used to do similar with 3.1...

  • Amen for that :)

  • Why do shutter glasses require you to keep your head level?

I thought only linearly polarized glasses needed that...

  • im kinda glad i didnt but an lcd tv then.

  • I still don't have an LCD tv. So needless to say, not for me

  • I'll buy one of these tvs when they hook it up to your brain and make sensations appear while Princess Leia gives me a lapdance while snorting cocaine using $1,000,000 bills.

  • Until I can lie on my couch and view 3d at about a 90º angle i'll pass, I don't even have HD yet and watch most media on my PC monitor so i'm not in a hurry.

  • well i guess there three benefits from 3dtv

    1. watching tv in amazing 3d

    2. forced to watch tv with better posture

    3. and finally reduced tv time due to the glasses.

  • Very true. Silver lining could see us healthier. Imagine doing this with games on consoles and computers as well! You'd have less screen time all together and better health from being forced off the machines by discomfort and better posture lol

  • I've been saying this for a while the 3D technology is too glitchy to bother with. There is a point in technology where we stop improving the tech & just start be stupid. We reached that limit with blue ray & 3D jumps so far over that line, the line is just a fuzzy memory. I have only one question: How would 3D improve the viewing quality of a film?

  • im still waiting for tv's to catch up to my 30'' resolution.

  • If people buy this 3d bullshit I'll lose the little faith I have left.

Yea, and the very first tool I see wearing 3d glasses, and all excited to finally see fox news in 3d kicked in the balls.

  • that's "GETS kicked in the balls."

  • I'm really not into the recent 3D hype. If you focus on the wrong thing my eyes bug out. :P

  • damn it i only have one good eye!

  • you look lke you gotta vicious odor to you

    +

  • This is all part of the Riddlers ploy. were all fucked

  • @JoshHILLARY LOL, great movie reference dude... very funny.

  • I am not looking forward to the "3D" age. It is a good Idea, but it is to much trouble.

  • They just got everyone to buy a 1080p flat-panel and now they want us to turn around and by a 3D tv? Please!

    3D would suck anyways,.

  • Why would they push this during a bad world economy anyway?

  • Red left eye contact, Blue right eye...?

  • does anybody know how affordable the 3dtv's are? I'm gonna be getting a new TV soon and was just wondering if the wait for 3d is worth it?

plus im on a bit of a budget too so.......

  • I'm going to steal your shirt sir. Just a heads up.

  • yo dude will this tv look good as a regular 1080p tv with out the 3d cause i like my games regular and my movies different? i am also lookin to buy 1

  • @shank562 yes

  • They already made a prototype version of a 3dtv that doesnt need glassess

  • @FredFan119 thats impossible as the naked eye doesnt have the ability to see in 3D unless equipped with special glasses. Your talking more along the line of holographic 3d TV's

  • Well smart one, riddle me this. if you put a giant pair of 3d glasses in front of the screen that covered the whole screen, would it be in 3d? yes. That's how it works. there is a giant lens in front of the screen so you don't have to wear one in front of your eyes.

  • @FredFan119 *headdesk*

  • I second that -HeadDesk-

  • @FredFan119 0-o dude?

  • @FredFan119 ROFL, I loved this comment xD

  • @FredFan119 well someone doesn't know how 3d works....

  • @FredFan119 Fail

  • @FredFan119 you dont understand how 3d works obviously but I would like to see how nintendo managed to get it without glasses

  • Still using an old Rank Arena TV with a STB - though, it spends more time switched off than it does on.

Still not entirely convinced in the need to purchase a flat screen - ergo I am even less convinced with regard to 3DTV systems.

  • lol jthm shirt

  • until the sets are £500 to £600 i do not care.

now if i could get the displays in a similar way to those 90s vr headsets (but smaller obv...), so i coud see film or game or whatever environment at all angles of my vision, THAT would be something i would go for.

  • dont forget the depth perception issues you have after watching 3D, causing car accidents, etc for hours afterwards. 3D is a total gimmick! JUST LIKE BLU RAY... its all wank!

  • beta max is the most advanced anyone ever needed!

  • dvd = blu ray.. same thing, same functions, they just call it different, and charge more for it... and give you region locking and DRM as added bonus features ;-)

  • Not neccessarily, blu-ray discs have multiple layerings and therfore more capacity, but other than that, you're right

  • wow, have you been living under a rock?

  • I wear glasses so the glasses on top of my eye-glasses sounds icky. Also I'm color blind( blue gets mixed with purple, red gets mixed with pink) when I saw Coraline on Blu-ray( 3D) Everything looked iffy and couldn't quite see things because the colors were all wack.

  • lol that was my reaction- NNY shirt! Now I shall listen to Blunty in his awesome shirt. XD

  • YOU HAVE A 'NNY SHIRT! You win.

  • I could imagine avatar DVD sales RISING when it gets released in 3D.

  • You mean blu-ray?

  • SO if you can watch DVD's on this in 3D all I can say is..... Advent Children 3D *Drool*

  • Advent Children in 3D? Yes please!

lol at the garbage man rage xD

  • lol im just going to wait ten years for them to fix and perfect this

  • Nah I'll pass.

As tantalizing as a 3D TV sounds, still cant get past this glasses wearing thing ect ect. I'll happily wait 5 more years for the next big thing (hint hint: Full Panoramic View pictures!!) but until then, 3D still sounds like a gimmick to me.

  • hmmm....that chair seem to good to be true if you know what im saying....

  • where did you get the jthm shirt?

  • lolo "Shutup! FRICKING GARABE MEN"

  • I've never liked 3D since the first little 3D film i went to see. I think it was shrek. It hurts my eyes to watch and it's really not that great - you're sacrificing a lot of detail and focus for a gimmick that you don't really need. TVs and films and games will always be 2D to me.

  • I cant see this technology making huge in-roads like plasma and lcd did for the home cinema market. I wont be racing out and getting this.

  • where did you get that shirt? it`s from what? its really cool

  • based on what blunty said here its easy to conclude that 3DTV is nothing more than a gimmick. 3D is cool but in 30 years they have yet to perfect it. Until this is fixed, no one should waste thousands of dollars on 3DTV yet. Just wait maybe one or two years for them to figure out how to fix this.

  • What I'd like is a NICE HDTV with the OPTION for 3D.

  • 3D PORN

  • oh yeah...

  • @27Guyver Ooooh :o

  • wows, 3D TVs, sounds pretty cool, I haven't even gotten a HD TV yet, still got a tube XD

Maybe i'll skip HD and go straight for a 3D TV :)

And I hope by the odd chance you manage to get a review unti man ^^

  • 3DTV + Sony's plans for 3D PS3 = a shit ton of money for Sony. People have been waiting DECADES for 3D.

  • always wait for 3rd generation divce for the best.

  • Too many flaws to justify a new TV purchase. Ill stick with the TV that allows me to tilt my head. For what they charge for these things those are some pretty ridiculous flaws : /

  • ill do the same untill a modle with less flaws comes out

  • I can guarantee. I can absolutely state. There will be many folks who will get headaches from the technology. There will be many more (as you've just noticed) who will not be able to use it at all. This technology (use of any glasses, of any type) is not going to be practical.

  • TV name got bigger... TV -> HDTV ->HD3DTV

  • its like DVD its just got bigger! soon it wont be like a HDDVD it will be something stupidly long like HDDVBVDVVVVDVDVDVDHHHDVDFUCKVDVSVD or something stupid

  • i will never buy a 3D tv the idea is just ridiculous -_-

  • I agree.
