As CSR-01 said, you can try remembering what color the infection turns into, that way, you won't have to always inject the white medicine when it turns black again.

Not to sound picky, because I know first hand I'd be sweating bullets if I was playing :D, but seems that best step is to inject the white, do the wounds which will allow for the reaction, inject the color, switch, and so on.
