  • priceless!!!!

  • Nice job on Nelly Cane Tim & Company!

  • Also Ricky gave that Grammy Award to Bill Monroe since Bill had never won one although he should have! Ricky Skaggs was a member of The Country Gentlemen along with Jerry Douglas and others. So , Son, do your homework before you shoot off your mouth. You make yourself look stupid.

  • @acefiddle Ricky used to play real bluegrass, so did David Grisman. They don't now admittedly and proudly. They are capable but what they are doing now is not Bluegrass. Nouveau is french not spanish. So Ace you can get educated. Wikipedia is not exactly the best place for an education it is written by any and all people willing to post to it. Ricky and Keith's album=Bluegrass Ricky's time with Ralph Stanley = Bluegrass Ricky's time with J.D. Crowe and the new south = Bluegrass with edge

  • Ricky Skaggs being featured in country gentleman = progressive bluegrass

Kentucky thunder = progressive or nouveau if you will acoustic with roots in bluegrass

  • @chirfu Well alright then, I knew you would see it my way. LOL By the way thats some nice pickin on that mandolin and cello too!

  • No, cause RICKY SKAGGS and KENTUCKY THUNDER IS BLUEGRASS!!

  • @acefiddle really? Skaggs is not blue grass... He is more nouveau acoustic and very talented at doing it. He can play real blue grass but is not a traditional player, fo sho....

  • @chirfu Nouveau Acoustic? Last time I looked that was a Spanish,Latin, form of Flemenco music.Check it out on the Wikipedia and educate yourself. Not what Ricky Skaggs plays or performs.

You stated Skaggs is not Bluegrass? With a career that spans nearly 30 years, Ricky Skaggs has become to be known as " Bluegrass Musics Official Ambassador." Ricky began his career as a singer and mandolin player with JD Crowe and the New South in the 1970's. In 1984 he recorded "Wheel Hoss" and won a Grammy!

  • Someone was trying to tell me that Sarah isn't bluegrass. I guess Tim isn't bluegrass either, or Bill Monroe.

  • Great stuff! Listening to Sarah makes me feel that bluegrass music is in good hands for the next generation.

  • wow! That was great.

  • What, no banjo break??? that banjo player was about to jump out of his skin to get up on that mic.....

  • @brodank haha. maybe thats why he didnt get one. a visibly anxious banjo player is a scary thing...

  • @thebetterhalf37 scary in a good way! i was just as anxious to hear his break as he was to take it!!

  • wow, she's great. i want her to fall in love with me.

  • Yeah... Tim O'Brian was born to sing bluegrass and this song along with Blue Night are his signitures. Is it me or does anyone else older than 50 see a little Rick Nelson when the camera gets tight on Tim.

Oh well, I miss Hot Rize and especially the young Pete Wernick on 'jo. He's so clean ... it's dirty good.

  • Tim O'brien always just blows me away. And Sarah's got such beautiful tone on that solo!

  • awesome stuff...

  • Sweet! Bluegrass is safe for another generation.
