Everybody swears - even people who say they don't swear. Using euphemistic swear words like "frick" is basically the same as using its less-acceptable variant. I guess being less stigmatised it isn't quite as powerful as The Eff Word, but it alludes to it and everyone thinks it.
SarryCrey used to tell me how swearing wasn't allowed in her family so her and her siblings would make up words and expressions that meant the same thing. To this day nobody has really worked out what "Lord Love A Duck!" actually means... but it is the kind of thing you can exclaim with reckless abandon.
my family always says I swear like a truck driver.
but in our family a fuck here or there doesnt hurt anyone !
