you take the sponge off the plastic part of the nib, then cut out a circle of craft felt (you can get it at the dollar store) and poke it in the little bit that the sponge was in with a knife or scissors

I'm from California and whenever I go out writing and shit I use already full shoe polisher/cleaners, on trash cans, back of pay phones, and many other thinks like that. ;] You don't always need to feel it with ink...the polish or liquid inside is sometimes premenant...I got some on my shoes on accident. xDD
