Easy to play this game, just download an emulator and the rom, you can use your keyboard, but a controller is better, I use the xbox 360 controller. This game frustrated me as a kid, and it does now! I never got past the cloud level.

This looks bizarre. I just bought Wizards and Warriors boxed for the NES. I remember it from childhood, and I decided to give it a go. Thought I'd check out the sequels, and this just looks really weird.

Tough game. Not as tough as the first which had sadistic boss battles (damn skeletons) but I got stuck in this game quite a bit. This game actually taught me the value in just walking away, calming down, and coming back to it later.

@Daemonocracy W&W part one is easier simply because it allows for infinite continues. Ironsword does not.

It's frustrating enough to make you punch a pillow, but not enough to make you throw the controller. The music is epic and the appeal of solving the puzzles and exploring are enough to keep you coming back for more. Took me about 3 months to finally complete this one...

@link3hyrule I remember the reason. See, outside of the shop, it is the air elemental's symbol, but in the shop it becomes the earth elemental's symbol. A bug in the game with where they assigned the shop's location.

@kseadam8907 Though I can't explain why it is smiling upon entry into the shop, I can say it's the element of the level. The first level is Air, followed by Water, then Fire, and last Earth.

It's not as weird as you think. My father once bought my bro and me Madden 95 for the Genesis due to how we all liked football back in the day. We also had Jurassic Park as well a time later and I chose it instead of a 3-game package because I liked the movie. I didn't regret the purchase.

I think they somehow knew that Ironsword was hard as shit and so they gave it to you and see if you can beat it. =D

The tornadoes are annoying because they push you around. They are weak compared to the ones that the Wind Elemental launches from its chambers. They throw you around like a basketball, and they can hurt! I love the Wind Elemental boss music.

I think that you need the Water Spout spell. I think that the Golden Fly is in the trees at the right side of the forest. It is only a guess.

It surprises me just how upset people get about Fabio being on the box art for this game. Is it really that damaging to your youths to have Fabio associated with a game you used to play? I suppose the "box art has nothing to do with the game" argument holds some water, but that was a pretty common occurrence, was it not?

i think this is the game my neighbors had back in the day, i borrowed it from them i had to be 7 or 8. at least i think it is the sky level was different less shaded and simpler cream colored and there were green springs i think there were still tornatos and i rember the gold egg behind the slide pissed me off.

I liked this game very much and played it through so many times. The only thing that i hated was, that the sword stabbing and its hit detection is so random. Most of the time you have to jump right into the enemies to kill them. But other than that a fun game.
