Actually, this is very good way to get money at lower levels, thanks for the video! It took me about 40 minutes to farm one and 20 minutes to sell it (sadly they are unique). I sold it for 6k gold which helped me a lot to get 270% flying.

Math and statistic doesnt work in that way. You always have 1.7% chance to get pet....If that is right i would have 20 baron mounts so far and I have 0 and i killed him more then 1000times....
I've farmed this pet twice, first time took around 45 bags, second time around 90 bags. Sometimes you can kill 50 oozes with not one bag dropping, other times 2 bags will drop back to back. Once 2 bags dropped from one ooze ^_^
I definitely don't think this is the most efficient way at making gold (but I needed 10k for T1 legendary rogue daggers)

Wow! I tried farming for those oozelings for 2 hours (in the cave in WPL though) and I never got a pet. But it's lucky you were able to get one. As for the percentages, kmzatan2 is right. It's a 22.7% chance. But it's basically close enough so not a big deal.
Percents are very unprecise, you can open up 200 bags and still get nothing, but that again has a low percent chance to occur. It's a bad fucking circle :(

I spent 5 days in a row farming oozing bag as much as i could , i got around 350 bags and non droped the companion... some people are lucky, some arent.
ffs, the probabilities for this are simple, you could kill over 20,000 of them and not have one drop, or you could get a horse shoe up your ass and kill 3, having all of them drop one, its a chance, so... killing more will not increase your chances...
Nobody knows how drop rates work in WoW. If something has 1% chance to drop, it doesn't matter how often you kill it, how many times you kill it, it still has a 1% chance to drop every kill. That DOES NOT mean if you kill it a hundred times its mathetically going to drop. 1% chance to drop every kill, which means you may NEVER get the pet; or you may get it the first kill.
@toressykes its simple math the chance to not contain the pet is 0.983 so if you try it for 1 hour getting 1 bag each minute its 0.983^60 which is roughly 0.357 this means you have a chance of 1-0.357=0.643 to loot the oozling within 1 hour
in this case you talk about 15 minutes so the calculation shoud be 1-0,983^15=22.678% chance to loot the oozling

@toressykes .983(98.3%) is the chance that you won't get the slime from the bag. .017(1.7%) is the chance that you will. When you multiply .983 times itself 15 times, you find the chance that you won't get the slime after looting 15 bags. This is actually 77.3 %. If there a 77.3% chance that you won't get the slime in 15 bags, then the chance you will get the slime is 22.7%.
Because, if you're going to calculate the things, it is 0.983 out of 1, that it will not drop. times 0.983 with 100 = 98.3% that it will not drop. Just pointing out.
Aswell, no matter what, if there is 1.7% drop chance, and you loot 100, there won't be over 100% drop chance for one, there will still be 1.7% - The drop chance does not increase when killing more.
@toressykes because you don't calculate probability of successive attempts that way. You take the % chance that it won't drop, hence the 0.983 = 98.3%, and raise it to the n'th power, n being the number of attempts. 0.983^15 = .7732 = 77.32% that it won't drop = 22.68% that it will. Not a huge difference, and not that it matters much, just showing you where Michaelsundell was coming from. Statistics are funny that way :)

ffs, the probabilities for this are simple, you could kill over 20,000 of them and not have one drop, or you could get a horse shoe up your ass and kill 3, having all of them drop one, its a chance, so... killing more will not increase your chances...

Nobody knows how drop rates work in WoW. If something has 1% chance to drop, it doesn't matter how often you kill it, how many times you kill it, it still has a 1% chance to drop every kill. That DOES NOT mean if you kill it a hundred times its mathetically going to drop. 1% chance to drop every kill, which means you may NEVER get the pet; or you may get it the first kill.

@toressykes its simple math the chance to not contain the pet is 0.983 so if you try it for 1 hour getting 1 bag each minute its 0.983^60 which is roughly 0.357 this means you have a chance of 1-0.357=0.643 to loot the oozling within 1 hour
in this case you talk about 15 minutes so the calculation shoud be 1-0,983^15=22.678% chance to loot the oozling

@toressykes .983(98.3%) is the chance that you won't get the slime from the bag. .017(1.7%) is the chance that you will. When you multiply .983 times itself 15 times, you find the chance that you won't get the slime after looting 15 bags. This is actually 77.3 %. If there a 77.3% chance that you won't get the slime in 15 bags, then the chance you will get the slime is 22.7%.

Because, if you're going to calculate the things, it is 0.983 out of 1, that it will not drop. times 0.983 with 100 = 98.3% that it will not drop. Just pointing out.
Aswell, no matter what, if there is 1.7% drop chance, and you loot 100, there won't be over 100% drop chance for one, there will still be 1.7% - The drop chance does not increase when killing more.

@toressykes because you don't calculate probability of successive attempts that way. You take the % chance that it won't drop, hence the 0.983 = 98.3%, and raise it to the n'th power, n being the number of attempts. 0.983^15 = .7732 = 77.32% that it won't drop = 22.68% that it will. Not a huge difference, and not that it matters much, just showing you where Michaelsundell was coming from. Statistics are funny that way :)
