I wonder if it ever occurred to that dumb motherfucker to simply not tell the interviewer about his mental issues? What profit is their in "coming out" on such a matter right off the bat? At least he could prove his worth as an employee, and form a positive relationship with his boss before he laid bare his psychiatric history. Simple common sense!
Sort of like how I don't mention my hemorrhoids at job interviews. Too Much Information, as they say...
People with a mental illness are treated strikingly similar to how minorities were, and now in some cases treated....wait, mental illness is a minority
I really like your video. My name is Paul and I am creating 2 new blog sites with the intention to reach out to others (with OCD etc........I am a former sufferer of severe OCD, but now it is only mild). I would love to be able to use your video for my sites, is that ok?
1 in 4 adults have been convinced that they have a mental disorder. Life is supposed to be peachy but my life seems to suck, so I must be messed up, m'kay.
I have bipolar and I want to be a police officer. I feel somewhat reluctant to apply for LAPD because of it and I'm not good at common sense multiple choice tests. I heard you have to take some tests. I've been on medicine for years and I've been sober since 2003. I excercise regularly and I don't have a criminal record. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!
@ninjacheckmate I don't think they'll let a lithium-popping manic depressive even own a gun, much less carry one in public as a police officer (especially in California.) Cross the border into Mexico and apply for citizenship there, maybe they'll hire you as a cop (most of their police are involved with drugs as it is, so maybe you using lithium won't be a big deal.)
Mental illness awareness is a huge goal of mine as I have bipolar disorder too and am trying to expose the stigma through my art and my book, Not As Crazy As You Think.
Happy to subscribe to your channel. Please subscribe to mine as well and check out my latest video on my journey with bipolar disorder! Thanks!!
Read Explaining colours to a blind man. Not only will it enlighten many as to what living with a mental illness is like, it also gives comfort to those sufferers who think there is no hope and that they are alone. It is very informative, sometimes shocking but also very funny in parts. All in all, a good read and highly recommended.
I've experienced that personally

I love my boss, (I'm bipolar) and explained it to him and he's like "Oh. Okay that's what all that was."

the people that work for you convince you to disclose mental illness do it so they can keep a job... that is the moral of this video.

It's sad how there is a stigma against the mentally ill. It's so not fair.

Well done indeed: except it needs to be on television.
