@Schwarz2448 Avis talks really, really good! His voice is very clear. Yes, Blue Crown Conures are very good talkers and easy to train. However, they can be loud! Watch "Avis Smarts Off To His Mama!" That's the noise they make!

If Avis isn't getting enough attention, he'll scream like that! Sometimes he gets me so annoyed because he won't stop I squirt him with water!

Now all I have to do is reach for the squirt bottle or say "I'm going to squirt you!" and he runs over to his yarn contd.

@Schwarz2448 There is a major difference in price. The African Gray will live up to 50 years or so and the BCC about 30 years. Blue Crown Conures are, from what I hear, the best talking conure and they dance pretty darn funny! It's all in what you want, how much you want to pay, how long you want your pet to live, etc.

He sits on me a lot and takes a shower with me every time I take a shower. He sits up there and asks me if I had a bath and says a bunch of cute things about taking a bath!

I'm going to have to shoot a video of him attacking the spray bottle. Avis can shreek and shreek and the only thing that makes him shut up is point the squirt bottle at him. Well, he hates that squirt bottle and will take a run at it and attack it like the spoon and will even knock it over then start biting the trigger! It's hilarious!

You should see what he does to the squirt bottle! I point it at him when he won't shut up and sometimes squirt him. He runs at it really fast, knocks it over and attacks the trigger and nozle! Blue Crowns can be dreadfully noisy and a person has to do something!

Did you know cockatoos and parakeets are parrots? If you can find someone who breeds cockatiels, you could get a handfed one pretty cheap. They are a good starter parrot.

you can adopt one too... but do research before you get one.. they require A LOT of attention. like more than four hours a day. they are a lot of fun but you have to make sure you are REALLY ready to be a parent of one because if you neglect him he will be very very depressed. i got my first parrot when i was 10 and i was ready because i researched. i took care of him and played with him all day every day. =) i hope i helped. if u have any questions ask.
