  • @1986Sheri it's a gas that cab come from stuff like faulty wiring and its colorless, odorless and tasteless and if you breathe it too long it can kill you.

  • I think it's very important for people to have a carbon monoxide monitor in their home, because of the fact it's odorless and tasteless.

And also the early symptoms of it can be simillar to the flu.

  • whoa how coincidental O_o

  • watching rescue 911 on rescue 911 how ironic

  • I wish that rescue 911 would be aired again, or at least available on DVD.

  • Hey allgood, is it true that you should check your wires periodically?

  • i just watched the episode that plays on the tv, its so strange watching it again like that.

  • I would like to know why they don't have a key, Thew father is lucky that the son was able to open the door.

  • Why didn't he call 911 from the hospital when he realized his wife had a carbon monoxide poisioning?

  • @foxtrottsierra probably because getting to his kids was the only thing he could think of at the time.

  • btw shatner says in an interview this was the most memorable segment for him.

  • The same thing happend to me and my family. My dad called 911. were ok .

  • cute kid.

  • i have a carbon monoxide alarm...

  • what's carbon monoxide?

    -1986Sheri

  • i live in stlouis!

  • yay?

  • imagine that.

  • wow.

  • Unbelieveable.

  • Did the syndicated version of this segment have the fan letter from the woman? Or did it go straight to Shatner's intro?

  • Straight to Shatner's intro. None of the fan letters were used in the syndicated versions of the 100 Lives Saved and 200 Lives Saved segments.

  • What segments from the specials were syndicated? I know this one was, that the 4th segment of this episode was, that the first and second segments of 200 Lives Saved were, but I'm not sure what the others were. That's if any other segments from these two episodes were syndicated, LOL! .

  • They were all syndicated.

  • @allgood2000 hello good day, Im not very good in english. can you tell me what it means by the episode as syndicated? Thanks. God bless

I love this show, hope it would air back on tv...

  • @anric77 Syndicated means that a show is sold to multiple other networks (usually so that reruns can be shown). Rescue 911 was originally shown on CBS, but syndicated reruns were shown on other channels.

  • I'll look. Thanks!

  • Can anyone tell me the segment title when there was a classroom and a father showed up with a gun wanting her daughter. If anyone knows that episode I AM DESPERATE TO KNOW!

  • You might be thinking of "Black Belt Hostage" from Episode 320, except the man was looking for his ex-girlfriend, not his daughter .

  • Thats It! Did I add you as a friend already? I think I did.

  • they didn't say what was wrong with the furnace that caused it to emit carbon manoxide

  • Improper combustion (damaged/dirty burners, improper gas flow) combined with improper venting, allowing the combustion fumes and CO into the house.

A properly working NG furnace should have a blue flame and produces minimal amounts of CO in it's combustion gases. Proper venting means there should be no backdrafts in the chimney and no escaping combustion products when the furnace is operating. Escape of combustion products may also be caused by a cracked heat exchanger.

  • Always important to have your furnace checked out and maintained regularly.

CO (carbon monoxide) detectors are well worth the money. Anyone with NG, propane, or oil heating appliances should have one.

  • i see where ur coming from ur saying that the furnace was burning the ng fuel improperly i can relate

  • the gas furnaces we have these day are much more safe burns in a more ordery an clean way and more efficient than the older ones

  • my guess is that it was burning fuel improperly causing it to emmit carbon monoxide

  • Why couldn't Glen have opened the door himself?

  • hey i live in st.louis. wow i also been to that same hospital for stiches.

  • That is freakin amazing! Thank Gawd the parents figured out what was going on and the dad rushed home to get the kids out. I will try to remember if Im ever in an identical situation to call someone who is closer to the house to get them out. But the parents are real heroes.

  • i vote this show to be back on tv it's a very educational program allgood2000 good work man keep up the good effort on getting it back on tv i hope you succeed.

  • You know I heard that animals like cats and dogs can sense carbon monoxide...I could be wrong but my freind had their heating not running well and not knowing the carbon monoxide was there. So not thinking their cats were going nuts from the oderless chemical their house burnt just abit to their top roof and thanks for their pets that saved their lives.

  • There was one episode where there was a gas leak, and a pet parrot woke the family up. I don't think it was carbon monoxide, though.

  • I remember that. It was in Boston.

  • yes I remember the segment said the city of Boston had a gasleak from a broken city pipelines or something along those lines.

  • Put that one up.

  • what episode was on the TV?

  • "Gas Leak Hero" from Episode 114.

  • Do you have that?

  • Yes

  • i saw this one on telly

  • My cousins and aunt and uncle almost died from carbon monoxide when the heat-exchanger in their (gas powered) ventilation system cracked, their carbon monoxide alarm woke them up just in time to save them.

  • Weird Al Yankovic's parents also died in their home

    of Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

  • a Rescue 911 segment on top of another Rescue 911 segment
