Once I was riding My bike Through a park and i Heard A Flapping Sound And it was a Magpie So I ditched My Bike And Ran And went into some bushes And the Maggie Wouldent Let me leave. Scary
It's one thing to get attack out of the blue but another tease it like you are. It is people like you that make the attacks more and more aggressive each year. My goodness you are older you should know better.
ha ha ha i feed the maggies so their my friends, but many a breakfast BBQ's have been spent watching george, Coe and thatcher attacking random runners and bike riders. funniest hangover cure ever
Good. I hope the magpie does 'get you'. It's defending it's young... leave it alone. It's one thing for swooping to happen out of the blue. But quite another to deliberately tease it. Leave it alone. I hope it swoops and gets a nice chomp at you all. I know it seems like fun but really you are teasing it.
Why? A magpie will hassle someone for than 1 kilometre, and not only that, they'll only strike when you're not looking, it's a pretty pathetic animal of the animal kingdom.
magpie only attack if ur not watching and this is sad but u getting hurt is teach u not ot walk past a nest.my friends run around with stops sign and they fly into them lol
these birds arnt scared of anything..ive seen 1 at taronga zoo in Sydney at the bird show swoop a wedge tailed eagle which is like 10 times bigger...lol
ive seen them eat alot of birds i got atacked by about 5 of them for my food one day there really smart and know if they do tat i will drop my food and run full on atacking me
I have known of people that have required stitches after an attack. There was also the case of man in Victoria a few years ago who died as a result of being struck in the eye - because of complications.
Having said that I have a group that live around my place in Sydney which I feed that never attack people but are very hard on one another. They will not hesitate to kill an intruder from another group.
u know the funny thing is, i allways see a magpie fighting with a crow, its hilarious how much those 2 hate each other. i think its because the magpie looks better than the crow, and the crow is jealous. lol
man, magpies allways come down to my backyard and i feed them, i never get swooped, but i sure hope that wouldnt happen in the future, i can imagine how horifying it is seeing a big black bird on top of u with its wings open. what about the Crows, they do not commonly swoop ya do they?
Thanks for your comment. This magpie would always swoop just above your head no matter how low you ducked. But there are other magpies who are more aggressive and will actually strike you in the back of the head etc.
Sound a noisy miner alarm call and see what happens.

Random0000001: Let me guess, you think eeeevul and cruel humans have no right to be flying kites in a public park?
Get real! They were minding their own business when the magpie attacked.
It's the magpie who should stop teasing those poor people, not the other way around!

Lol. magpies are crazy when they're nesting. Whenever your walking somewhere through trees and things you have to walk really fast or run :P

Magpies only do it when they have a nest nearby to keep potential predators away from their young. I don't know about crows or other birds. Regards.
