Every art that includes kicks uses low checking kicks two reasons. Their faster and more powerful than high kicks, they injure the legs making it more difficult to fight and the take a fighters attention low hopefully leaving the opponent open high. You practice kicks high because they make you more flexible and faster, the faster and more powerful your high kicks the better your low and middle kicks are (plus kicks to the head often lead to knock outs).
DUDE!, is that a chick????? with the long hair??? OMG, that s not even a Fair FIGHT! what a loser. Plus the guy isnt even a karate/Taekwondo dicipline, hes using muay thai techniques what a major loser.
OK lets see the dude is wearing a karate uniform not kickboxing shorts=he kicks repeatedly at the gurly dudes legs like a kickboxer and then finishes off with an all original muay thai style kick to the face, you see that technique in muay thai, trick the guy with some pain in the leg and then kick him in the head when hes not expecting it.
he's wearing a karate gi because he's a karate practitioner and like i said, low kicks aren't exclusive to muay thai. he's using a strategy that's common throughout most all martial styles, boxing included. you try to draw your opponent's attention one way so that they leave themselves open somewhere else and you can exploit that opening. why do you keep talking like muay thai is the only credible style? you're only showing your ignorance.
2. it is not muaythai kicks, it is karate kicks exactly as taught in the kyokushin style of karate (both highkick and lowkick )and its splintergroup Enshin karate (the style that this fighter trains and which arranges this tournament).
The muaythai fighters does not have a patent on those kicks, and kyokushin has taught ith that way since it was founded back in the 50ies.

This a bit more like it, but I'm still not a fan of ITF. Of course, a real ITF fighter can still
whoop up a decent Kyokushin fighter. Observe.

It's a guy with long hair, and what makes you think the other guy's using thai boxing techniques?
Do you think muay thai is the only style that uses low kicks?
Do you know anything about martial arts?
