"Mas que nada" is a song by Jorge Ben, a Brazilian. This is a mix of Bossa Nova style and Samba. Since they are very similar i would say just Samba. Anyway, "Mas que nada" would be a variation of "Que nada". The word "mas" in the begining dont bring any other meaning to the expression but it makes this a lot harder to translate.Most of the times, "Que nada" means "a negation" of something. For exemple: "Ana said: Do you think she did it? Que nada! She didnt!". Sorry for the bad english.

Well I'm Brazilian and "mas" in Portuguese really means "but"...the word for "more" would be "mais"...Portuguese and Spanish have similarities but in this case they are different. So in Portuguese "mas que nada" does not mean "more than anything". Anyway "mas que nada" is a fixed expression and would mean something like "No way" in a sort of disbelieving way. At least this is how I understand it.
