Thanks so much for this video! My husband never knows what I'll do when he's at work! I did this and found that there was a sock stuck in the drain pump. I removed it, put everything back together, and now all is well!! Thanks so much! It really was pretty easy to do - just took some time! Saved me quite a bit of money by not having to call a repairman too!! Thanks!
Awesome! My wife washed a pair of running shoes and six of the 12 molded stripes on the side were gone after the load ran and the washer had a whirring sound when running. Was able to remove the pump and see the piece of rubber stuck in the pump. Removed it and reassembled the washer and blamo - quiet again! Thanks a ton for this video!
@petrarquefr The cheap pumps you can buy on Amazon and some other online retailers are not made by Whirlpool, they are poorly made knock-offs. Not all generic parts are bad, but in this case you'll most likely be replacing the pump again when the seal fails.
outstanding ! I never knew how easy it was to take the body off and access everything. I was able to diagnose the problem as the pump; then get the part and replace it. Of course the pump had leaked on the shaft too long and the rust had it cemented in place. My big Saws All took care of that. Cut that pump up into several pieces and chiseled it off. Then cleaned up the shaft with my Dremel. Testing a load now; all is looking good ! Thanks Repair Clinic !
Thank you! Much easier now!
