Jean-Claude slashed his face with a some kind of long blade...almost like a curved machete. I remember that scene well. I read somewhere that when they were filming Double Impact in Hong Kong the local stuntmen demanded almost "full contact" for realism. Well, it's totally different when the stuntmen want it. However I'm pretty sure Pinckney didn't want to get blinded.
