  • I might be getting these instead of rototoms

  • i have to admit, i hated this solo but love those drums. is there a difference in sound from the pearl rocket toms?

  • awesome

  • Awesome dude! fucking sweet! and @ Friiiiick, couldn't agree more!

  • im trying to sell my octobans but theres only 2

  • @drummingmw2skatefrea i'll buy them.

  • Perfect for when your high

  • haha it's funny...no matter the drummer, theres always a stick collision at some point while jamming on the octobans...there's a video of stuart copeland doing the exact same thing...no wonder...they're no bigger across than your hand...great stuff though man...I dig it a lot

  • Do you know what the shell material is on the octobans?

  • duran duran - wild boys anyone ?

  • Hello, could you tell me what are the lenghts of those drums please, thanks.

  • i want octobans now, and i dont even play drums

  • What heads are on there?

  • They are Pinstripes an came with the drums. A single ply head would sound better.

  • Pearl quater toms are basically the same thing but alot better and a little less expensive.

  • were these considered the high pitch or the low pitch set of four. Guitar center don't have different pictures or much info on dimensions.

  • These are the high pitch.

  • JUNGLE FEVER LOVE THE OCTOBANS OH YEA GETTING SOME NOW

  • I NEED THOSE WITH MY SET!!!!!!! :O

  • Sounded like Atari there for a minute.... Nice speed.

  • That's funny, it does sound like that.

  • Can you set them up in a line instead of bunched up like that?

  • I would need as second stand to do that and need (2) double brackets. These came with a long bracket with (4) clips to hold all four drums.

  • GOD DAMNIT U RUUUULE

  • Excellent chops!

  • Tama never dissapoints.. cool video!

  • That was pretty cool.

  • you are goood

  • yeah it does. thanks bro!

  • Does anyone know which set Mike Portnoy plays? High pitched or low pitched?

  • Comment removed

  • @ethongmurr. MP uses low pitched octobans, the exact measurements of the ones he used on the chaos in motion tour and the black clouds tour- the ones which i think sound the best :P, are: 443mm, 472mm, 536mm and 600mm deep. They are all 6' in diameter of course. hope that helps mate :)

  • Impressive

  • Does anyone know what Millenium octobans are like? They're much cheaper and I really want a set.

  • @mug7703 Yeah I'm wondering the same thing. Thinking of buying a set of four octobans from Thomann.de. :)

  • Aynen darbuka.

  • Aynen brother darbuka +1

  • Hassiktir lan. Mikssiz sesi çok tırtmış. Darbuka alırım aq bunun yerine.

  • How long are they?

  • I had a similar style set in clear Plexiglases made by Tamma. I remember I use to crack my sticks near the tips all the time hitting the rims...The 6" diameter doesn't allow for much room to miss....

I let them go cheap because I couldn't relate to the sound they produce...A little to Latin sounding for my taste.

  • how much do the short ones cost?

  • @MegaTwilight5 I believe they cost $549 at GuitarCenter

  • where do you buy octabans?

  • does anyone know how to tune octobons? i'm getting some after my tama imperialstar arrives. they say to tune toms a half step apart. well what about octobons? this sounds kinda like a third step apart. am i right?

  • if all drums were tuned the same, the world would be a very boring place

  • I know they were too tight, but I was just goofing around on them though. Plus they had pinstripe heads which sounded really dead tuned lower. I never really used these much, if I did, I would have put a single ply head on them.

  • @ivecadit would you sell them?

  • Sorry, already sold them.

  • It is to tight.

  • Nice!

Tune them lower and it gonna sounds like a dream!

  • Try tune them lower. Like Simon Phillips does.

  • what sounds better to you

the long ones or the short tube ones??

  • I don't know, I've only had the shorter ones, these and another pair of short ones. I'd like to try deeper ones though - I'll bet they sound pretty good.

  • thank you.

  • just checking, octobans are just 6" single headed tom drums right?

  • Yes, they are 6" single head.

  • i just got me 2 of these i gotta find a good spot for them on my drumset though. what a genius idea its kinda like marching band quads meet reggae its like the coolest drums ive ever seen/heard haha i love them

  • They are cool. I had a pair of them sitting over my hi-hat. Search youtube for this video to see: "Tama Octobans DEMO & Walk around"

  • awsome fils

  • Thanks!

  • Very nice! It almost sounds like part of a Balinese Gamelan song.

  • Interesting sound with the Pinstripes, I'm used to the Copeland black dot tone.

  • Yes, I got them used with those heads, and it wouldn't have been my first choice. I would prefer a single-ply clear head of some type probably.

  • I hear you, they are a bit thuddy with the pinstripes. But you manage to make some good sounds with them, no doubt. Rock on!

  • what i like about octobans is that it really starts to sound like a melody, it is not just rythmic :]

  • great solo :)

  • Oops I accidentally removed a comment I meant to replay to. He question was can these be mounted in a single row rather than 2 over 2?

  • Yes, you can, you need a second stand with a double holder - the holders are like those on Congas. Then need to replace the holder on the existing stand with a similar double holder. Thanks DefiantDeath666 for your question.

  • sound like very highly tuned marching tenors (quads)

  • yeah they look really tuned high... thats gonna damage the rims

  • I fucking love octobans

  • Loved it, very stylish.

  • Ahh .... the joy of triplets.

  • Shweet.
