  • The difference between the green and blue icons is that green is associated being a software instrument generated by GB. Blue is real instrument - Vocals, instrument, etc... that is why in blue it shows up as a waveform and the green as notes

  • Don't worry about what people says... thanks for sharing.

  • will this work on windows or just mac ?

  • Hi brother needs to chat a, Asian women busizz4me.info

  • What a compliCation!

  • dear henrythegreat many of us are learning Garageband for the first time. I think that tutorials like this one are of great value.

    Thank you

    Tim Basaldua

  • is this free?

  • i made like 46 tracks of garageband

  • naw if you add a new track and pull up the musical typing window you can make your own beats.

  • so basically this is for just sampling u cant make ur original stuff ?

  • @renzaboi yes you can with the virtual instruments that come with it and a midi keyboard or using midi draw, but these useless idiots don't have the fucking capability of being original and have to copy the loops that are preset

  • thanks i didnt know how 2 do any of this

    thanks again

  • What file format is used on the apple loops?

  • i suppose you want to use them somewhere else... You could easily use them on Gargeband and export yous song as an mp3

  • yeah share the file with your ipod

  • haha that's sucks.. this is for gamer, not for producer..

  • let me add this video is false advertisement cuz YOU are not making beats ur just using the loops that garagband comes with... ANYONE can do that....

  • How do you record the video and audio as you did for this tutorial? I esp. am interested in how your first tutorial followed your cursor around a magnfied view of part of the screen.

    Thanks!

  • is there a way to change the tempo of a loop, but not the entire piece of music?

  • can this be used on windows xp

  • it cant, sorry.

  • it can its a bit different and it costs about $62

  • apple

  • can u change the tempo of a pasific track? and is garageband just for mac or can it be used on windows xp and or vista?

  • It's only on apple because it's one of their greatest things to show mac is better. I mean if you were apple would you put this on the competing system?

  • well mac is not better in my perspective because i am a gamer i just play with this at school

  • and this is my last comment, for the people really trying to learn GB, when you want to repeat your loop, you dont need to copy and paste it like he's doing, just put your mouse at the end of the loop and drag it as long as you want the loop to last.

  • Agreed. It's a lot easier and less work.

  • oh i never knew that thanks alot!(not sarcastic i really mean that).

  • also for the record, when you want to add a loop to the song, you dont need to create a new track, just drag and drop the loop to an open area in the workspace.

  • this is dumb.

its just dragging and dropping loops, literally anyone can do this.

you can actually use garageband to create your own loops using your mouse and keyboard or a midi keyboard.

if you use a midi keyboard and create your own loops, thats really making your own beats.

this is not a good example of the beats that can be made in garageband.

  • That's cool but this isn't really making your own beats. It's copying and pasting loops that other people have done, that doesn't really take any talent.

  • just make your own loops!

  • nice jo!!! I have music garage the lastest version, but I don't have a whole library of loops like you do.. I got an update, but still I am missing most of those loops.. any idea where can i get the whole thing?? thanks

  • make your own loops!

  • to add a new track u dont need to go to the top and click add everytime just click the plus sign on the very left next to the blue lit up eyeball

  • how do you get that!!

    answer

    nice beat!

  • very good tutorial!!! but dont let the drums overide the piano...but very good tutorial...u no wut u doin homie

  • true that man

  • so the samples from garageband can be used for ur own beat to do whatever wit like sell it for instance

  • yes they are copyrighted beats the instant u create them. apple grants you all rights to royality

  • if u drag a sample n another, etc n compose the track mixin all the samples n then export 2 itunes n burn the disc or watever r the samples copyrighted cuz im composin thesesamples together but can i use them 4 real btw good vid n song

  • Green is Midi, Blue is audio. Good tutorial.
