These people look like two marionnettes or somehow paralysed in unnatural poses. This has NOTHING to do with real Argenine tango. Compare them to Javier Rodrigues and Geraldine Rojas dancing Gallo Ciego!
It has nothing to do with Argentine Tango because it is not Argentine Tango. This is International Ballroom tango. Completely different style. People should learn that there are more than one style of dance. The same with people watching international style samba and compare it with Brazilian samba, or international style rumba and compare it with Cuban. It is perfectly fine that you like Argentine Tango better, but you should not compare this couple to them, because it is a different dance.
E basta! Fatela finita! Avete proprio scocciato!!
@santafesino007 It was originally danced in a much tighter hold in the early 1900's, very similar to its origins. There was a German couple in the 1920's or 1930's who danced it much more open and with more movement, like the other ballroom dances, and who won and became champions. Afterwards, the ballroom technique was written to match that style and it further developed to the point where, today, the hold is very similar to the other ballroom dances.
@santafesino007 Ballroom Tango is a dance of power not intimacy. Both the man and woman express a movement of authority. If the woman’s head was held close to the man she would lose the look of power and authority. There are also many reasons that have to do with body mechanics and certain balances being in place.
Yes, surely there is great difference between the two of tangos, anyway I think this is brilliant. So many ways to follow the rythm, swiftness, great cooperation between the partners... I like this, I dance too and I like ballroom tango much more than argentinean. (Luca and Loraine have a great part on that)
Tango is probably one of my most favorite dance... and, this is ballroom tango and perhaps not argentinean tango for some of youtube amators... thanks for your beautiful videos...
Since he's retired he's been free to experiment and try to influence the direction of ballroom. Kudos for him - putting an effort to evolve standard ballroom
Ballroom Standard & Argentinean. This is ballroom standard tango
Both contain combinations of lust & power: The Argentinean expression very much emphasizes the first while the "ballroom standard style" strongly places emphasis on the latter.

I know what tango is, and I can dance both styles, but let me say if softly (maybe I was rude on previous comment) that is not tango (as they are some style of flamenco that are not flamenco at all). Well done, anyway. Sorry, dude.
This guy is the king! I can only wish to be as good as him one day!

They are hilarious - don't you love the way they wave their heads about at totally random points in the music?
It's takes years of training to achieve such a total lack of musicality.

why the "tango ballroom " looks so diferente to the original dance?
is for the rules of ballroom ?
in the original way the posicion of the head of the lady is more close to the man. can you explain ??
